The university better get that little racist in check before a player does.

Valid point @knapplc. Hopefully it means they are pressuring those who can do something about it.
I find it hard to believe that the University doesn't have some code of conduct provision they can enforce. It very well may not prevent him from acting on campus even if he is expelled but at least they would've done everything in their power to try to prevent a tragedy.

Everyone gave me crap about how I thought nobody was going to touch Armstrong because of his ability and leadership. When I watched his HS film and he said he was going to lead Nebraska to a BCS championship, I knew he was the guy for the future. We are not there yet obviously but I want him leading this football team for the next 3 years.

Sorry Knapp. You know me I hardly ever know what I'm talking about. I may have missed your point, wouldn't be the first time. Now as far as Internet boasting, I think I've done it, I'll probably do it more if the Huskers kick some ass this year. I didn't agree with the entire comment from Vince, but I get where he's coming from. There's a small legion of people here I think don't want TA to succeed.

any AUTHENTIC mexican restaurants or hole in the walls in Lincoln? This is very important to me

Nebraska is going to have the fastest Offense in the BIG next year. I don't think it will be close either. They became elite in terms of speed on O within 2 months. Incredible.

@Moiraine 'IF' we lose a game
-
@Vince R. Probably still Ohio State.
I just don't see every new recruit playing right away, and the ones who do will still be learning, along with the rest of the team. So they'll likely be thinking too much to go full speed.

The players who were quiet and (or) spoke the least, made the most noise to me.

What if I told you that Nebraska's game against tOSU last year had the makings of a convincing win (17-24 pts) favoring the Big Red. I really hope the self inflicting play is behind this program. It would make all the difference.

@Vince R. you can’t selectively say that NU “forced” Ohio State into mistakes, while NU’s mistakes were self-inflicted. It can’t go both ways. Jackson’s INT of Haskins was more of a combination terrible read and terrible throw by Haskins.
Yes, looking back at the game, NU had chances to win the game. But to say that NU controlled the game and our mistakes were the sole reason we lost is not genuine. Ohio State led for way more time during the game, and had a good chunk of that time leading by 2 scores. That is controlling the game. NU took advantage of Ohio State mistakes to lead at 2 times during the game, but the lead was never more than 1 score, and it was less than 25% of the games.
Ohio State didn’t seem very interested in playing a 2-win team, and their lack of effort and crispness showed that. Give NU a ton of credit for making it a close game and having an opportunity to win. But to say that NU “should have won” is not a correct statement.
-
Sorry about the multiple posts of the same thing. Yes, NU had an opportunity to beat Ohio State, just like they had an opportunity to win by 17-21 points. Both teams made mistakes and left points on the field. In the end, I think the better team still won, but it was great to see NU hang in and play them down to the wire, with an opportunity to win.
-
@ColoradoHuskIt's all good. I figured a new comment would come in. I think tOSU was the better team. Still, the opportunity is frustrating, but enlightening to what Nebraska could do. Nebraska out coached them, but execution simply wasn't on par with it. I don't expect that to be the case anymore. We have a ton to look forward to.

I will never understand the lack of respect Ozigbo gets. He has plenty of ability to be successful and could get 1,300 easily if he has a competent Oline. He was also a bright spot on the roster last year.

@Pedro Guerrero Sorry man, but stats don’t tell half the story here. Wisconsin pumps out 2,000 yard rushers every year. Their running backs aren’t special. Good but not special. There is plenty of evidence to support that. Ozigbo played very well in a limited roll. He could have really good numbers behind a really good line

Nebraska fans who blame the defense make me cringe.

Just had a conversation with a coach in LA who told me that Bookie accepted 100K+ in assets and cash over the last two years.

Lots of reading comprehension fails in this status. I never said I don't think it happens. Hell I think the story is likely true. All I'm saying is people shouldn't be passing on these stories unless they can actually prove it and, if they can, then they should be passing it on to the proper authorities and not just nonchalantly damaging the reputation of a player, coach or school based on less than credible information.

I am so proud of Devine Ozigbo. What could've been had this staff been here his whole career. I hope he kicks a$$ in the NFL.

@B.B. Hemingway Appreciate the perspective. I don't think we're really that far off opinion-wise - it's really the difference of how we perceive his early years because we probably both agree what he did his senior season, and his transformation, was outstanding. Much of the scouting analysis on him in recent weeks is sort of along this same vein i.e. there wasn't much too write home about prior to what happened in 2018. Again, a lot of factors played into that, but that's why I bring it up.
-
d@Enhance Are you of the opinion that he could stick in the NFL? Though I always liked his potential at Nebraska, I'll admit that I never entertained the idea of him being a productive NFL back. I'll be real interested to see what he does at the next level, and I think he's got a chance. As you said, prior to his senior season, I don't think any of us could have imagined that.
-
I think he has as good a chance as any. The scouts seem to like most of what he brings to the table. The biggest knocks I've seen are his explosion after cuts and lateral quickness in pass pro. Otherwise, he seems to be drawing a lot of praise. He probably wouldn't fit across all 32 teams (a lot of NFL running back prospects don't) so it'll probably come down to the opportunity.

thinking of possibly transferring to UNL, any insight for a CA kid?

Looking for some prayers here. My week old nephew (hopefully future husker) is in the hospital to remove a blood clot. He's handling it well so far but with these things you never know. GBR
-
It comes with a heavy heart to announce that my nephew Preston Justin Hebenstreit passed away on December 6, 2017. He was barely a week old and attributed a rare blood clotting condition he could not overcome. Your prayers meant a lot to me during his time in the hospital. My family, especially my sister and husband need community. I know how compassionate Nebraska fans are and how we put the quality of life above everything else. If you would like to reach out, I am providing our social media handles as we have announced his passing publicly just a few moments ago. My sister's instagram is valyn_chanel and my instagram is vince_mike. Thank you guys.

May the God of your understanding be ever more real to you and your family during this time of loss. I'm hugging your family as I ask this God of comfort and encouragement, who is good and full of love ... to communicate through we humans around you that your loss is our loss ... that we feel your pain, hurt and loss ... and only wish and hope the best for you as you move forward with this disappointment. You are being held, cared for and loved ... trust for it to happen as well.

Joshua Moore says Nebraska has one 5 star recruit and one 4 star recruit silently committed.

get ready for another boom

I worked in the football offices at Cerritos College in Southern California. We had at least 10 bonafide division 1 players a year. I have a ton of recruiting stories about players and coaches all over the country. When it comes to Nebraska, they were probably the biggest victim of negative recruiting. I have a feeling this is still continuing. And it was bad.
-
Nebraska getting some run on the Laker's telecast. Side note: Tom Dienhart got roasted on twitter. The BIG is starting to rub me the wrong way.
-
If I had TO as my boss, I would've asked him for the blue print on how to be successful at Nebraska. I would've applied every tangible aspect to my football team. Bo had the greatest resource of them all and squandered it.

To me, the only ones who are dropping the ball are those who are getting paid to report information. Sean Callahan has struck out.

A prominent player suffered an injury this week. I do not know who it is.
-
There is something going on in that state, in that city, and within those walls that simply keeps this program from having balls, and the ability to play under pressure. They are literally playing better when the game is over because they are puss cakes, and cannot play loose. I question the campus environment and what life is like for these players. These issues supersede staffs and rosters. What is happening on that campus that breeds the same mentality; that translates to the exact kind of play on game day?

@NebfanaticI don't think it has anything to do with the staff. I don't think I am going too deep because I am bringing up a program theme over the last 20 years. There is a difference between talent and will to play. Nebraska should never have a showing like that. The game plans are fine. The schemes are actually good. These players are rewired in a negative way once they move in. The competitive nature, and will to fight is stripped. This program has zero aggression, and has become a counter punch team. Hence why Nebraska is known to playing down to their opponents, or gets shell shocked when WI, tOSU, or Iowa punches first, and the game is over by the second quarter. There is something that is fundamentally broken on that campus, and it has zero to do with S&C, recruiting rankings, scheme, 3-4, spread, Frost, Riley, or Pelini.

Now we know why Jonathan Rose left. what a mess

Info in Nebraska can never stay private. There are too many eyes and ears.

Eichorst was brought in to get rid of Bo. That was set in stone and I believe SE will support Riley as much as possible.
