Trying so hard to not get another suspension.

New potential assistant coach? https://nebraska.rivals.com/news/huskers-close-to-filling-opening

Parrella is turning into a heckuva recruiter. Great hire.
-
Some further details coming out about the Baylor football team scandal. Nothing says team unity like drugging and gang-raping young women.
-
I yelled at a parent at my daughter's school this morning because she parked her car in the drop-off lane. I am a man!!!
-
@ColoradoHusk are you waiting for us to ask if you're 40? If so, keep on waiting, busta.

It's sad that NU is 11 yards from being 0-3 right now.
-
But wait, it gets weirder - We're seven days from our fourth game, and 7+4=11.
BUT IT GETS WEIRDER STILL!!!
You last "won the day" on 4/11. And when you win it again it'll be your 11th time. And your current Rep is divisible by four, and the last two numbers are 4 and seven, which adds up to 11!
WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!?!

Tom Petty is about to go into the big concert hall in the sky.

I know the DPI on the fake punt was a terrible call, but how did the officials miss the Tanner Lee fumble at midfield early in the 2nd quarter? He wasn't close to being down and he lost the ball. NU caught a break there, and ended up getting a FG on that drive.
-
In both of Riley's biggest "upsets" during his time at NU, his team was able to overcome a 12-point, 4th quarter deficit. NU just needs to get to that 12 point deficit going forward.

Frost to current players: The vacation is over!!!

I think I will put my half UCF-half Nebraska shirt to good use today.

The guys from SpreadFootball.com have a podcast that is slightly focused on the mid-90s Nebraska offense, and how it was ahead of it's time. I haven't listened to it yet, but I plan to this afternoon. http://ronmckiefootball.com/tfp44/

The what you will learn in this episode is very interesting:
Why running the QB is a game changer
How the QB counter is a deadly play
Why Nebraska was ahead of its time
How the defense hates playing against teams that have a running quarterback
Funny how defenders of Callahan and Riley still liked the statue QBs.

Average Big Ten teams keep giving Northwestern wins in the turnover game.
-
@Judoka you are exactly right. I guess I give them credit for playing smart, but the media acts like they are a great program. Are they way better than what they used to be, yes. But I don't know how "good" they actually are. Plus, NW's 10-win seasons in 2015 and 2017 were helped by competing against 2 of the worst Nebraska teams in the past 50 years.

Mike Leach is a national treasure.

@Minnesota_husker I skimmed thru that article about Leach vs. Texas in '99. It was great.

Quincy Enunwa gets $20 million guaranteed from the Jets. That’s awesome for him!!!

RIP Dorf

Erstad stepping down as NU baseball coach. Wow.
-
@Minnesota_husker preferably one that has a CWS-quality team two years in a row in a non-P5 conference, but isn't invited to the tournament for mercurial reasons?
Or am I reading too much into this?

I found an online hack for Chrome which turned my Twitter feed back to the old format. It's great! Sorry, I can't remember the hack, but I am sure you can find it online.
-
@Mavric shared it in another Status. It's a Chrome (and FF) extension. I have to refresh to turn it on every time I open a new browser, but that's not much of a hardship.

Watching the live stream of Nebrasketball in Italy right now. I have no idea who any of the players are, but they look long and athletic. The team looks like they haven't played together much, but they push the tempo a lot and half-court sets involve a lot of guys out on the perimeter to create space for a deep post-up or drive and dish.

Dedrick Mills going with "The Program" move and carrying a football around with him all week. I appreciate the fact he understands how important ball security is.
-
@TonyStallonithat's kind of the point. He's inviting anyone and everyone to knock it out, and he needs to learn to hold onto it.
Gotta love the determination from the kid. Hope others take ball security just as serious going forward.

Interesting tidbit on the roster from the LJS, 93.4% of the returning players will have used their redshirts. Frost is definitely trying to get the roster to mature, while also still be "young" eligibility-wise.

Some nice Husker banter on tonight's Better Call Saul.

Killing time at work watching a Pearl Jam concert on Youtube.
