I just watched Teen Wolf last night and had a nerdgasm when I saw the Husker Power sign in the basketball coach' office. We're still relevant. Just gotta bring it all back and sustain it. I think coach Frost will be the guy to do it.2 points

Did you read the random reference to his Italian decent that Verduzco shares? You know, relevant offseason stuff.1 point
-
Verduczo will only be responsible for one position on the team and not the entire defense like Diaco did. He also explains "the how" much more than Diaco did. He also has a thesis on the QB mechanics, whereas Diaco falsely claimed a master's degree while at Eastern Michigan. Outside of being Italian decent, both seem to be completely different. Besides Frost doesn't strike me as the type to employ a fluff at the team's most important position.1 point

I hear you on the potential for next season. Miles has had enough seasons to build depth with HIS kind of players. Now to declare how the season turns out and what that means for his future is tough. The big ten could be conceived as good or bad this year - we don't know in may. The team could go injury free and if so the facts would lead you do think that if TM is going to get NU there then now is the time. If he has 4 guys get injured then it would be tough to determine what's next.1 point

The very next day, you can see Sanchez's argument playing out in real time. And Maggie Haberman, one of the most visible & important media voices in the Trump era, still refuses to call them lies. Trump is just flat lying. There is no other explanation, and he's burned any benefit of the doubt long ago it's an honest mistake. He's lying for political benefit to turn people towards him and against the media, as he's done since day 1.1 point

I agree with everything you're saying. I'm just not buying that it's going to translate to wins this season. But I'd happily accept being wrong!1 point

Here is a big problem with how this whole thing is playing out. It is not abnormal for negotiations to be on and off with threats to cancel from both sides. But, normally this is done behind the scenes. Now, since we have the twitter and chief, the whole world is on pins and needles while he strokes his ego. Trump tries to make everyone worship every move he makes like it’s the biggliest move in history.1 point

Who are these people he randomly quotes? The irony with this one is thick.1 point

Voted A&M because I was there and the end was amazing. Although in reality we played terrible most of that game and I realized how far we had sank at that point as a team. I guess I went to Michigan and that one was pretty awesome too(i wish we played some games in Texas still). With all the injuries we had that year, finishing the season off strong gave me hope we were on our way back.1 point

Although many people agree with Trump's positions on immigration, this betrays what an ugly, awful game he plays demonizing immigrants. Thought experiment: Replace Hispanic/potential crimes in this excerpt with Jews/ways they screw people out of money or Blacks/how lazy they are. Is that acceptable discourse? If this is true, screw this guy and the horse he rode in on. Also, Miller is a weaselly little fascist wannabe and Kushner is a spineless underling just along for the ride. I can think of many reactions to hearing this type of crap from the President of the United States, but laughing sure as shoot isn't one of them.1 point

Seeing how poorly that offense played in the bowl game gave me some pause. That's after a whole year with Frost and staff including bowl practices. I hope the coaches are getting a better start and the team will be better because the staff is intact and has done this before and etc. etc. But we have no idea how long it'll take the players to adapt and succeed. I think it will happen, just not in year one.1 point
-
Ucf had a 6'2 330 plus pound soph dt last year that practiced against that offense. I think just bc we are tempo doesn't mean we don't want big body types inside. I think if we land fair he can play at 330ish and be disruptive.1 point
-
I think with the pace of our practices, and the offense he will be practicing against Mon-Thurs, he will naturally lose 10lbs. Duval will get him down to about 315.1 point

Well... as I was saying. Its the end of May and he hasn’t visited nor has he confirmed he is coming for FNL. Add in that we have offered a bunch of new QB’s and maybe it’s okay to start thinking that it’s not happening here anymore.1 point

The Michigan bowl game was probably the first game I voluntarily watched since the South Bend takeover game. I wasn't much into football until that point. That game and that amazing USC/Texas game really started drawing me in. I still remember freaking during the laterals that we were gonna be the laughingstock of the bowl season if Michigan somehow scored, luckily they didn't. I wanted to say the KSU beatdown of 2007, but that was after getting boatraced by Kansas and Cally was toast by the KSU game anyways.1 point

Nick Bahe (so?) was talking about the fact that not one national news reporter or news outlet had anything bad to say about Scott Frost. In fact, the general consensus is that they are looking forward to Nebraska returning to nations prominence. GBR!1 point

How about any generic run play Melvin Gordon ran in 2014? How about games against OU and Mizzou in 2008 where they basically did anything they wanted? How about Iowa State 2009 where it was an invisible man apparantely knocking balls out of players hands? How about that Washington Bowl game debacle? How about Michigan 2011? How about Ohio State 2012? Granted most of these are not one single play over and over, I'm far too tired to look into it very hard at the moment. But the commom theme is one issue in these games whether it be a play we can't defend, karma, a player we can't stop etc. It's not being able to assess and adjust and be competitive.1 point

2008- 1st year growing pains 2009- No QB, no offense (really sad since one of best defenses in history) 2010- Big 12 screwed us and and and Martinez got hurt 2011- New league growing pains, and Martinez got hurt 2012- Defense got hurt 2013- Martinez got hurt 2014- Eichorst screwed us Sound about right?1 point

Exactly. I'm cautiously optimistic about a Blue Wave in 2018 that shifts one or both Houses of Congress, somewhat because I support more liberal policies but would settle for even more balanced centrist ideas than the crap they're slowly churning out now. But moreso because the corruption and grifting for personal gain and abuse of power and blind fealty to the worst man (and human being, frankly) in politics in my lifetime HAVE to end. The sooner the better. My plea to everyone is if you have even a hint of evidence your Rep is an enabler of Trump or is willing to put their party above the wellbeing of our Democracy, vote them out, and encourage those close to you to do so as well.1 point

True. You can also refuse to make any adjustments and go on to coach 7 of the 10 worst defensive performances in Nebraska football history. First time I've heard one player blamed for the whole Wisconsin debacle. That's some serious Bo loyalty at work.1 point

Man. We've come a long ways HB. Last year was a real struggle. But if that's what it took to get us where we are today, I can live with it. I'm so excited for the Frost era. I'm so excited for this season to get going. I hope to not get suspended or banned this year.1 point

This is an old school Husker style QB, extreme speed, run first QB who played in a run heavy offense and has since transferred to a triple option offense school.1 point

Well, California has a very large economy, so debt numbers will always seem high without context. For example, California's combined state and local debt is $426.1 billion and their Gross State Product (GSP, equivalent to gross domestic product for a country) is $2847.6 billion, which gives a debt-to-income ratio of 15.0%. In comparison, Nebraska has a combined state and local debt of only $18.9 billion and GSP of $122.9 billion, which gives a debt-to-income ratio of 15.4%. So California and Nebraska have about the same debt burden when you account for the size of their economies. And if you want to compare per capita, California has 39.8 million people for $10953.73 debt per person; while Nebraska has 1.9 million people for $9947.37 debt per person. Or about $1000 more person for California, which doesn't seem like a whole lot.1 point

To be fair, if Bob Diaco said this stuff it wouldn't be shocking. It's ok if Mario is the new Football Guy. Every staff needs one.1 point
