  5. Please tell me where I said that this video proves anything implicitly. I said it was interesting. I believe it is interesting because it shows a white male physically assaulting an officer in an extremely violent manner. That white male is not shot. If it proves anything, it proves you can physically attack an officer and not be killed. It proves that you can disobey police orders and not be killed. It proves that you can be behaving belligerently and not be killed. It proves that police can handle a situation without killing someone, even if they're being physically threatened in a violent manner. I wish that kind of courtesy had been shown to Walter Scott, Eric Garner, Stephon Clark and plenty of others. I specifically compared the video to Betty Shelby, who shot and killed Terence Crutcher, an unarmed black man who had his hands in the air. Charles Kinsey pictured below was laying on his back with his hands in the air, and he still gets perceived as a big enough threat to be shot. But when a white guy tackles a cop to the ground, he's not perceived as enough of a threat to be shot. I find that challenging to understand and accept.

  6. I think it's a fantastic move. Dems or liberals are often accused of having all the aggression of a limp noodle or a wet paper bag. The running joke is that they think they'll beat Republicans with their own words while Republicans are busy just slapping them around. I applaud this move away from that dynamic. Dems come off as milquetoast a lot of the time, but they have ton of lawyerly types in the party. About time they put them to good use. An interesting point somebody made on Reddit: If Trump pardons someone, that is an admission of guilt that is admissible in civil court. Meaning that person would be vulnerable to this lawsuit and discovery therein that could compel a lot of additional evidence. The argument is that Russia's hack of DNC emails constitutes trespassing on their property and thus Russia should be held financially liable. I personally agree with that take. I'm personally tired of watching Trump cronies and family members (namely Don Jr. and Jared) walk around acting like they did nothing wrong or will face no repercussions. Bring on the repercussions.

  7. Just like I suspected....... thanks for confirming my point. Your past posts on this matter already let me know everything I needed to know. You just don't care for me calling you out on pure B.S. as I've done in the past. You're making assumptions and trying to pass it off as fact IMO. SMH And just so we're clear I've got zero issue calling cops out when they're in the wrong. I do have an issue when you try and paint us all with a broad brush with ridiculous comments like the one above.

  8. Think most husk fans who follow recruiting, and understand the situation, would see going 1/2 on the Burke kids as a win. Hickman is a tremendous player in his own right and would be a big win for Frost imo

  9. I don't know why this is so hard to see. Look at the rosters. The four returning starters on the OL are on the Red. The best two receivers are on the Red. The TE that has been getting a lot of pub is on the Red. The two QBs largely considered to be the front-runners are on the Red. This staffs hand-picked RB is on the Red. There are three returning starters on the DL on Red. There is a four-year starting LB on the Red. There are four returning starting DBs on the Red. And that is what Frost said they were basically going to do. Are we just looking for something to argue about?

  11. (Over-analysis incoming) I'm genuinely wondering if Will Honas being on white is about more than just depth. Nick Bahe interviewed Ruud yesterday on Game Time and asked Ruud who he thought had been standing out, who Ruud was going to the other coaches to say good things about after practice, etc. Ruud mentioned 3-4 players and Honas wasn't one of them. Bahe then followed up by asking 'what do you think about Will Honas?' Ruud (paraphrasing here) said something along the lines of he needs to be more sure of his decisions but that he's been working hard and going after it every day. Then this morning, DB (in his usual, mystical wizardry) said what Ruud said yesterday aligned with DB's personal evaluation after having seen practice recently, and now that Ruud said something, DB felt it was OK to start diving into Honas a bit more and the 'assumed starter' tag people have been giving him. My vibe is that Honas may not be where people think he is right now i.e. he's not a sure starter. (Over-analysis ending)

  13. I'm looking at it the other way, not as an implication that the cops in the video would have acted racist if the guy had been black, but rather that they showed it's possible to NOT shoot people even if they are disobeying police orders or threatening or acting violently. @Fru sums it up pretty well:

  17. In no way shape or form did I call you lame, I called your post lame and said it was B.S. I stand by that.......... You are again painting things with a broad brush with the bolded as the example above. Now you're trying to say that white folks have a better experience with the police than minorities which just simply isn't necessarily true in that broad of a sense. I am in no way shape or form trying to diminish what some folks are saying in reference to how they're treated by some officers across the country, I'm certain that some of that stuff goes on, but I'm also certain some folks will use any excuse to justify their behavior and slant their interactions with the police so any observer will side with them and sympathize with their poor decision making. I will argue with ANYONE about the topic if they try to paint this picture "Police are racist." Watching that video, what you're saying is your opinion and in no way should be taken as fact. You simply don't have any idea what would happen if a minority would've been the suspect in this case. You are making an assumption and, most likely, and incorrect assumption at that. You say you found the video interesting, your post certainly didn't even allow a rational discussion to occur on the matter. It was simply a "fire for effect" type of post IMO which is certainly going to get a response from me as I've shown in the past. Yes, your past posting history on the matter is certainly in my mind when you continue to show the same distaste for police over and over again from what I've observed. So it is you that doesn't seem to want to have an open discussion in the matter and even attempt to see my point of view. I certainly take offense to being painted with a broad brush and will continue to do so until folks stop doing that. I've acknowledged in the past that law enforcement can always get better and we should constantly be looking for better ways of doing things. However, I've also said that society as a whole needs to understand what it's doing wrong, be willing to have a little self-reflection, and change their behavior for things to get better. This is NOT a one-way street where only one side is at fault for all the wrongs. Law enforcement unfairly gets the blame most of the time and society is losing good cops on a daily basis because of that.

  21. I saw this on the Today Show this morning and it looked great. Brown Sugar Peppered Bacon: 10 Thick-Cut Bacon Slices 1/3 Cup Packed, Plus 2 Tsp. Light Brown Sugar 2 T. Black Pepper Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wired rack on the foil. Place as many bacon slices as you can fit on the rack. Stir together the brown sugar and pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle the bacon with the brown sugar mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Bake until the bacon is crispy, 35-40 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway-(on same rack)-once or twice during baking time.

  25. I believe this is a horrible move by the Democratic Party. This does nothing but make any investigation look more partisan. This lawsuit should happen (if ever) after the investigation is done and evidence was presented that shows this happened.

  29. So the #1's are on Red, which I agree looks likely. But you previously posted that the #1&2 are on Red and the #3&4 are on White. But looking at the rosters, I don't think that's the case. No way Avery Roberts is in the top 2 and Will Honas is in the bottom of the depth chart. Same for other guys. I've speculated that it's #1&4 on Red and #2&3 on White, but it might be #1 on Red and everyone else just spread around. That's what I'm pointing out. And what Frost said they were going to do was vague, so saying you know the exact layout is silly.

  31. I'm not an expert in how this whole process goes. Grassley is saying he's moving forward with a vote on the Judiciary Committee. So, I'm assuming this is a vote to send it to the floor....for which McConnell can then block? So, Grassley is basically calling McConnell's bluff and forcing him to officially make the call to not send it to the floor. Interesting.

  33. Without reading again, I believe the same thing happened at the first Starbucks. Ok I looked it up - this is from the original incident: This backs up the idea that the police were called because they were black, not because they were doing anything they don't let other customers do. To the bolded - it seems like you're making an assumption that they didn't say anything to that effect.

  35. I didn't say it was all 1s and 2s. I said that's mostly who it is. And what Frost said wasn't that vague. He said they were going to put the guys who were "standing out" on one team. You're reading into way more than I am if you think that meant something other than the guys who have been practicing the best. HOL And several of the scholarship guys on the White are guys who look to be heading toward non-contributor status (Ozigbo, Keyan Williams, Jalin Barnett, Daishon Neal) or pretty young guys (Bradley, Engelhaupt, Will Farniok, Damion Daniels, Deontre Thomas, Chris Walker, Guy Thomas). The Red team has (probably) the top two (eligible) QBs. They have (probably) the top RB and a guy who is at least a co-#2. They have the top 5 WRs while the White only has one scholarship WR and he's unlikely to play much this fall. The Red has the TE who's been getting a lot of mentions. They have the four returning starters on the OL. So other than OL - where we don't have enough guys to have all the 1s and 2s on one team - it seems like the offense is pretty much 1s and 2s. It's not quite so one-sided on defense but other than the transfers (Honas and Dixon) most of the 1s seem to be on the Red. Scholarship guys not listed per HOL

  38. A common theme I've picked up on from the pressers with the players desire a desire to do what's best for the team. These kinds of comments have been from several players. Heck, Bunch was asked to contrast his time last year with what's happened so far. He skipped the question and said he wanted to help the team get better. Why are these guys becoming selfless and wanting what's best not for themselves but what's best for the team? I think this quote about the decision to leave UCF tell us why. Scott Frost was never leaving UCF alone. He wanted what was best for his coaching staff. The best way to teach these kinds of moral and values is to live them yourself. People spoke highly of Mike Riley's morals and how he impacted his players. I don't see a drop off in these intangibles. The boys are becoming men with not only excellent football coaches but excellent life coaches as well. (I'm ashamed of my coach crush but damn it!)

  39. Frost wants as much speed as he can get from RB's. They train their RB's in practice to try and outrun the defender. Speed, fast, speed, fast, speed, fast. Frost isn't going to recruit a RB that doesn't fit the schemes that Frost runs. Besides, this kid's rating will go up as the services do their evaluations. Always remember this run when looking at the RB's that Frost takes a commitment from:
