  2. When you have Wyoming as one of the options to choose from is all you need to know about the Mike Riley Era hahaha

  3. 2015 Michigan State won the B1G and made it to the CFB Playoff.

  4. Your anecdotal opinion doesn't matter - they were a premiere team, who beat the #4, #9, #11, and #19 teams in the nation, won their conference, and made the playoff. That's a great team, period. Please. Sparty has outperformed Michigan in every capacity possibly imaginable over the last decade, including 8-2 head to head.

  7. DoNU fan after upsetting Sparty in 2015: Man, this is awesome! Maybe we're gonna start pulling our heads out of our butts and get things rolling! Things are gonna be ok! Narrator: But things were not ok, and heads were not pulled out of butts...

  8. I would almost put the MSU game as the "worst win" because all that did was get the RiledUppers all riled up..."See...this is what Riley does, he does more with less, he takes an underdog team and beats the big dog"

  9. Huh? He's saying it's easy to say in May that your QBs are good. They're not actually playing actual games. We heard all spring and summer that Lee was going to be really good. It was easy for people to say it then. Much harder when he was throwing pick sixes. Obviously something could change in what you're saying, as soon as September, if our QBs play horribly. Then I'd wager the coaches and players wouldn't be happy with the QB room. Much harder to say you're happy with the QBs when they're playing badly in games.

  10. Gonna try something new for the offseason: let's find out which win of the Mike Riley era (error?) is considered the best by the board. I've gone through each season's schedule and pulled 5 games that could be considered the best wins of Riley's tenure. We can debate for a week, put it to a vote and decide. If there is a game that isn't listed, vote for "other", and explain your choice. Note 1: I'm planning on doing a "Worst Loss" thread as well Note 2: The Riley era was so bad, I originally had two losses in the "Best Win" column. Game 1: 2015 Michigan State http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400763560 - This game was marked by a wonderful drive by Tommy Armstrong at the end of the game, driving the offense down and scoring with less than a minute left on a controversial TD pass to Brandon Reilly. Game 2: 2015 UCLA http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400852720 - This game was RtDB guy's wet dream. Armstrong, Ozigbo and Cross pounded the UCLA defense, with 46 carries between the three. Also marked by a controversial ejection of Nate Gerry on a pitch-perfect tackle in the second quarter. Game 3: 2016 Wyoming http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400869187 - Most points scored in the Riley era. Armstrong throws for almost 400 yards, and the defense picks future first rounder Josh Allen off 5 times. Game 4: 2016 Oregon http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400869113 - Riley finally gets a win over Oregon. Marked by another gusty performance by Armstrong, scoring the go-ahead TD from 34 yards out with roughly 2 minutes left. Game 5: 2017 Purdue http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400935395 - The final win of 2017 was punctuated by a comeback led by Tanner Lee with under one minute left.

  14. My only concern is we felt that way after our tournament season and the wheels fell off. Teams adjust and get tape on teams. While we dont lose any massive pieces, we do lose some depth. I hope we can fill the last scholly opening with a grad transfer who can play right away down low.

  15. Griffin was a 6'1 - 205 DB before Frost showed up at UCF. After a spring and summer with Frost's staff he weighed in at 213, was moved to LB and finished the season with 11.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. I don't think anybody is saying Dixon will put up those numbers, but there are certainly similarities to their past positions and body types. Dixon is the type of player the staff wants at the outside linebacker position.

  16. It's possible, but I would assume he will take more visits. Referring to the other posts he would primarily be OLB rushing the passer, maybe a few plays with his hand in the dirt. In our defense most WDEs will be OLBs for us depending on size/agility

  17. At least we know he intends to give it another go. All you can do is moderate the hell out of his reps and see how it goes.

  20. Wanting to start doesn't make him a prima donna. And just because he wants to start doesn't mean he's going to demand that a coach promise him the starting job.

  21. Here is a funny, yet maddening, anecdote pertaining to sexism and why it is real... Years ago I was working in a call center doing tech support for a major wireless company, let's call them Horizon. I was working under my female name and I have perfected (through years of practice) my soft, female voice, so I sound exactly like a cis woman. Long story short, I take a call from a guy who is having trouble... In my soft, feminine, voice I tell him EXACTLY what to do to fix his problem. He scoffs at me and asks if I could transfer him to a man who knows what he is talking about. (Okay...inside my head at this point I am livid and want to rip this a-holes head off) So, I tell him to please hold and I will transfer him. I make the disclaimer known that while I am transferring him, he may get another female representative as call are answered in the order received by the first available agent. He says fine, just get me to speak with a man. So I put him on hold... I wait about about 1 minute, then answer the phone with my "male" voice. I told him the exact same thing, it fixed his device, and he was happy. He closed out the conversation telling me, "Well what do you know, the woman I was talking to before you actually knew what she was talking about. Usually women are morons." I wanted to go through the phone line and stick a knife into his neck. Instead I told him that our female reps receive the exact same training as the male reps do and maybe next time he should listen to what she has to say. (Side note...that call got QA'd and I got called into the call center manager's office along with my team lead. They both were laughing at the guy and commended me on how I handled the situation.) So yeah...just thought I'd share that.

  22. Another thought: If fan expectations bother you, there are plenty of schools you can play for that don't have them. If Lee didn't want to be at a place that has them, he could have stayed at Tulane. I don't see how recruits can visit here (where recruits have said fans already know their names) or know anything about the school and not realize this might happen. Especially as a QB.

  23. ^ This sounds like a guy who knows what he's talking about. He also wants to deregulate, but the only way that would help is if regulations were the reason drug costs are high, and I find that unlikely. I honestly think regulating drug prices would do a lot more good than making it cheaper to manufacture drugs (and easier to create drugs that harm people).

  33. Good point about his value in coverage. He was a safety at Ole Miss, so he is used to being in coverage. My guess is that he will be a hybrid backer who blitzes some times and stays out in coverage at times. His amount of PT will also depend on the opponent, like you mention.

  34. "Songbird John" Tell me again about how much the GOP respects the military? Edit: Nice. "A White House official mocked Sen. John McCain’s brain cancer diagnosis at an internal meeting on Thursday, a day after the Arizona Republican announced his opposition to President Trump’s nominee for CIA director, Gina Haspel. Special assistant Kelly Sadler made the derisive comments during a closed-door White House meeting of about two-dozen communications staffers on Thursday morning. “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway,” Sadler said, according to a source familiar with the remarks at the meeting." http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/387182-white-house-official-mocked-dying-mccain-at-internal-meeting
