  2. Says the leader of the party who actively embraces the death penalty... Our idiot governor had to give the entire state the run around and import the necessary drugs from overseas so we could prove how manly and tough on criminals we are. I used to support capital punishment. Now it just seems barbaric and wrongheaded.

  3. TM isn't responsible for the run imo.... hope the kids continue though. They are playing with fire and heart that we haven't seen for several weeks. The right coach would have been getting that out of them all along.

  7. I was just talking to my girlfriend earlier about Graham and Cruz (who voted No on the motion disapproving the emergency declaration). Are there more disappointing, utterly spineless embarrassments to actual principled conservatism than these two? During the 2016 primaries, they both CORRECTLY told us who Trump actually was. Go back and find the quotes - they were truthful and unsparing. Then they realized they have to pretend he's some awesome conservative hero fighting the good fight and support him in order to keep their jobs. They sold out. Period. Meanwhile, in other disappointing conservative news, Nebraska's favorite son... His pet issue is Congress giving too much power away to the president, for God's sake.

  8. Every big run was a blown assignment, or very near. Injuries weren’t a massive problem, but enough of one, especially in the front 7. That leaves a guy like Carlos trying to hold up at NG, which he can’t really do. Gifford is trying to be a pass rusher, which he really isn’t. So on and so forth. Colorado was the healthiest we were all year, and while we made enough mistakes to lose, it was also the game we were the most creative. As we had to move people around more, we had to simplify, too. Chinander has some good tricks in his bag, and I’m sure Tuioti brought some of Cal’s with him. There were also some poor personnel choices, partly due to that. Safeties lining up on the LOS against Michigan’s jumbo sets, but playing 2 deep against a QB that can’t pass vs Illinois. I’m quite sure from what we’ve already heard this spring that Frost and Chinander will better adjust to the diversity of the Big Ten’s offenses this year. If only two things happen this year I think we are massively improved as a defense: a pass rusher at OLB emerges and the Daniels bros hold up at NG. That allows the twins to penetrate more, which is where their strength is, and it allows us to play more man coverage which I think can be a strength.

  9. One really interesting psychological effect we've found out from the Trump presidency is a lot of farmers will literally sell the farm before they give up on the GOP.

  10. It’s amazing how out of touch fans get because we win 3 games after losing like 12 of the last 15. Now all of a sudden people think he is going to stay. This season was a disaster and winning a quarter final game in the conference tourney does not make that go away. Make tourney or bust was the narrative before the season started. We are not going to the tourney

  11. I posted a photo here I took ofSasse selling Runzas at a Nebraska game. I regret not buying one then throwing it at his head. (Although I probably would have been heckled relentlessly and possibly arrested so not really).

  12. Man... this freaking team. Just when I was ready to give up all hope, they sucked me back in. Obviously they did this to step on my heart but whatever. What a fun freaking game!

  13. I don't need some convoluted explanation from him about how Democrats are bad and disingenuous and we need more debate and to be serious and yada yada... Actions speak louder than words. Sasse is mostly a fraud, when push comes to shove on his values.

  15. Me too. For years I had no problem with some of these un-repenting monsters getting even semi-humane executions. But you only need to learn about one wrongful murder conviction to get sick to your stomach, and then you learn there have been so many. And then you learn death penalties and executions are more expensive to prosecute than housing a murderer for life. Also, you start to realize it's more ghoulish than badass to stage these executions.

  19. And how they consistently hide behind eye trolling and can't come up with any sort of viable defense for Republican or Trump actions taken. It's pathetic--like they willfully wish to remain ignorant, because admitting their failures as human beings means they have to end the fantasy they've created for themselves.

  20. This play from the Michigan St game is a good example. Last year was supposed to be his breakout year but of course injuries robbed him of much of the season. It’s guys like him to watch this spring because of the development during last season. Put on that Colorado game, he had 10 tackles and he didn’t even know what he was doing. Then put on Iowa, 9 tackles and he’s covering their tight ends in the slot. He’s one of those guys Chins was talking about learning to be a better pass rusher. When he does that better, he can be a real force capable of covering tight ends, being down on the line in the run game and being a disruptor in the backfield. But it’s the mental side, as he said, that is slowing him down. When he can finally play free, as versatile as he is, he’ll be a great player.

  30. I have zero faith in the pathetic servility that is the Congressional GOP (nice to see some of them vote against Trump today - let's see if they do the same after the veto), but I do have faith in our independent institutions. You'd see massive upheaval at the CIA, the FBI, the military, etc. - perhaps not sycophantic leaders like Pompeo but, maybe? There'd be lawsuits out the wazoo. It would effectively cripple our government's legitimacy on the world stage, which is bad for everybody, including business. It would rain sh#t on him from all of us that don't bow down and kiss the ring. For all the protests we've seen for various causes since the start of his presidency, there would be nonstop upheaval in the streets if it went this route.

  38. A literal and factually based assessment is not an overreach. If he did what is alleged to have done, then that is truly a felony per the law itself. Then you take into account context, and he will likely plead to probation/diversion/misdemeanor/something minor and not serious. There's no overreach anywhere. Also, what exactly is an incarnation crisis? Too many deities embodying humans in California?
