  1. Maybe this should be in another forum, but it is a great story. I hope Warner has a great year. kurt-and-brenda-warner-surprise-single-mother-with-newly-furnished-home

  2. I found this informative and quite humorous. Unfortunately a lot of folks misinterpret what rights the 1A actually endows them with.

  7. That woman was stupid already. Trump didn't do that. The thing Trump did was make people like her think he's one of them. That he cares about them. That he'll help them.

  11. So he’s 310 now. Lifts like a total man child What would he play at? (there’s your Haiku) but seriously, what gains could he make besides just “man strength” from 17-22 yrs old that we could expect to see? Lower body fat? Increased speed? Obviously technique/coaching and playing much much better competition will help. Is he a guy we see at like 330 or something? Thanks for any insight on how he projects longer term...

  13. Fun thread idea. Mine are basically the same as everyone else 1982 - Friggin Penn St. and those garbage calls. 1983 - If Rozier stays in the game, I think we win a close one. 1993 - I hate to use refs as an excuse, but wasn’t there some funny business going on? I wanna say I heard somewhere that crew was investigated and not allowed to ref a game together again. If only Byron made that kick. 1996 - If I recall correctly, wasn’t there a flu bug going around during the Big XII title game? I think even with the loss to ASU, had they beat UT, they could’ve snuck in. 2009 - If only this team had any kind of offensive threat. They’d have been dangerous. 2010 - If T-Mart avoids the injury during the Mizzou game, I think this team makes a run. D wasn’t as good as 2009, but was still very solid.

  15. It's so hard for me to wrap my head around, because I have many dear friends who vote the rightwing into office. But the only explanation for the Trump/GOP agenda is that cruelty IS the point.

  18. Our July 4th ended by watching a brawl at a house near my in-law's home with six police cruisers showing up. I imagine we all looked very similar to Wilson from Home Improvement. It was so entertaining... we totally forgot about the rest of the fireworks we had to shoot off.

  19. It's not going well. 5:45pm in DC and the crowd is tiny. Team Trump has noticed and taken action. It's raining, so that could be a valid excuse. But this picture of the people given free tickets inside the VIP section doesn't look to VIP-ish.

  20. So far this summer, I've helped teach my oldest learn how to go potty, helped her learn shapes and colors, and worked on learning how to count to 20. However, my greatest achievement might be getting her to clap in rhythm to "There Is No Place Like Nebraska".

  23. Or just win 49-10 which is my prediction for the game. A total and brutal beat down. My dad secured 6 tickets last week and we’ll be there to drink the sweet sweet river of tears of the Buffalo.

  27. The average year two jump is 2 games. The ones that greatly exceed that have tended to match Nebraska’s year 1 profile of close losses and few unwinnable games. It’s less the case of actually improving by a lot of games, and more the case that a team wasn’t actually as bad as the record showed.

  28. Anything could have happened last year. Top player lost for the season against Akron. Who knows? Nothing we can do or say about last year that makes a bit of difference. We all believe that Coach Frost is doing everything he can to make the program what it was. We just have to wait and see how it all works out. I feel certain things will be better this year, and truthfully that is all I ever ask for. Coulda shoulda does not matter, unless it is used to fill a post because it is the off season. We do have a lot of believers out in college football land. I am hoping they are all correct. Oh by the way, the other day Rick Neuheisel, gave us a glowing report for the future and called the Nebraska fans the greatest in the country. Pretty nice comment from a guy that Nebraskans seem to hate so badly.

  30. Seems like lots of QB recruits love it here now. It seems like we get them a lot more easily than we did with our previous coaches. I get the feeling (among a bunch of other positives with Frost and his track record with QBs) that Verduzco might be one of those guys it’s really easy to get attached to. That’s the way it sounds when Martinez talks about him.

  33. If I understand how it will have to work for that Natty ... we will need to beat Wisky, Iowa, NW or Purdue (2 out of 4 at least) on our side and beat OSU, Mich or PSU (2 out of these 3) in a normal year and probably a team like Michigan State ... then in the B1G championship beat OSU, Mich or PSU again ... and if that happens, we get into the 4 team playoff. So ... for me ... I like Notre Dame's chances of a Natty before us. We are just trying to break out on top of our side of the conference ... let alone trying to match the recruiting and coaching development of OSU, Mich and Penn State. Dang, now that I write that it feels negative ... but, it is how my mind thinks on the topic. I am believing Frost can change my damaged perception ... but it won't happen without him out-coaching and scheming more talented teams.

  34. Rewatching part of last year's game now. I'd forgotten how badly the game started. We were down 14-0, 3rd and 17 and possibly looking at going down 21-0 with the momentum Colorado would've had. Martinez throws for a 1st down and 2 plays later scores on his long TD run. Think we could be really good this year if we're truly over making so many mistakes - i.e. play more like we did in the last 6 games. I feel like just minor improvements in several areas could mean the difference between winning and losing in several games.
