  2. That's a far cry from the stupid cartoon that started this. In fairness to the government, the banking regulations put in place after the Great Depression worked pretty darned well. It worked so well that they repealed them. And liberated from oversight the financial class pursued the same doomed objectives, abetted by both Republicans and Democrats showing off their pro-business creds. It was greed, stupidity and delusion, so I get kinda tired hearing that a rising tide lifts all ships at sea. These guys will sell their mother and our kids down the river if it means a fourth quarter profit. If you want to go back to a time when America was great --- pretty much anytime America was great — there was a higher tax on the rich than there is now.

  3. Bernie is hardly radical and if he seems like a "crazy choice" it's because of just how far gone this country already is. He may have some cult-like followers (nowhere near the MAGA level), but at least it's in support of a platform that is entirely based on improving our quality of life instead of white nationalism. You're not going to fear for your safety if you happen upon a pro-Bernie demonstration. Can't say the same about the group of white nationalists.

  6. Regardless of outcome, which would you rather have? Which is better for recruiting and our program? A. The national media being positive towards Nebraska, still and expecting us to be good again? B. The national media being negative towards Nebraska, expecting we won't be any good? C. Nebraska being mostly irrelevant nationally. Losing more of whatever aura the program still has. At the same time being able to fly under the radar?

  7. 'We Were Hoodwinked': Inside the Final Hours of Mel Tucker as Colorado's Head Coach ROSS DELLINGER AND PAT FORDEFEB 16, 2020 The night he took the Michigan State job, Mel Tucker was affirming his commitment to Colorado boosters and fans, who are now left frustrated and angry. “I swear to God after the event I said, ‘There is something going on.’ His eyes were not … it was almost like he wasn’t telling the truth. It was bizarre.” An hour later, Tucker struck a deal with Michigan State to be its new coach. LINK“ ======================================================== . .

  10. Consumers and individual workers should pool their resources to make themselves more effective. They would just need to have a few people organize it and direct the group to be more efficient. Imagine what involved, focused people could do if they worked together!

  14. I was thinking about this this morning. Many family members of mine insist we pray for Trump because he is an elected leader and its "the right thing to do". (keep in mind, there was never an insistence to pray for Obama) I don't know why it took so long, but it finally clicked: why aren't they also insisting we pray for AOC, Sanders, Warren, Pelosi, Schiff, etc??? They are also elected leaders that make up our federal government. I'm sadistically waiting for the next "pray for Trump" post to come through my feed... Eisenhower is on point.

  21. I truly don't think I understand the nuances Red... I was alluding to the fact that the "Medicare for All" plan is one of the mainstays of Bernie's platform, and from what I understand he means to extend Medicare coverages to EVERYONE. If Medicare/Medicaid is currently administered by the Federal Government, then how would Medicare for All be any different? My comment earlier was because you posted that "literally no one is calling for Govt run healthcare", so is this just another shade of grey?

  22. Thanks Moiraine...I certainly agree with you that the system is MESSED up here in the US regarding costs and profit margins...and something must be done to rectify it here at home. I just wanted to point out that free doesn't always mean better.

  24. Not saying I'd be happy either but I'd take it. For all intents and purposes it doesn't matter who the Dems run in 2020 because that person will have my vote.
