  1. to be honest I don't give two $hits about them having practices or analysts doing crap. There's worse things that could've been done. Looking at you Baylor, Penn State, Michigan State. I just find it funny that this is something being investigated.

  2. Yeah, I'm sure Nebraska is the only school that sneaks these analysts onto the field to help coach drills. Definitely Nebraska, and only Nebraska. The NCAA is a f****** joke.

  3. NCAA didn't do anything about LSU and Baylor, so NU is definitely gonna get the death penalty.

  4. Also, for these rumors about Scott and his wife. Let's not do that. Private life is private life.

  5. I don't expect to win enough games to be put on NCAA probation. I just want to win enough to warrant an investigation. Bob Devaney

  6. All of this to go 12-20? I wonder what things would be like if they WEREN'T having illegal practices.

  7. Huskers to the SEC. They were vetting us to see if would go to their level

  10. Alberts mentioned that there was a "leak." That's either someone disgruntled in the program or a player or coach who was here last year but not this year who leaked it to McMurphy. Seems that with Trev making a point to appear with Frost that this doesn't place Frost's job in jeopardy. It was interesting that Frost made a point to say that everything they did, they did with the knowledge/blessing of the administration.

  11. Coach Frost is human and occasionally makes mistakes just like the rest of us. From my standpoint, everything he’s done, or is alleged to have done, was with the best interest of his team and NU’s FB program in mind. I hope we as fans choose to support him rather than spread rumors and bag on him for dumb reasons.

  12. I think this was a good move by the AD, and Frost to address the media. Simply acknowledging the investigation (alleged allegations), and telling them they are cooperating with the ncaa, as they have been. And confirming that it is not a distraction to the football team at all. It's always good to address an issue quickly and respectfully. I don't know bout yall but I am ready for some football. Bring on illinois!

  13. Ah, yes something every program across the country was already doing. Thank you NCAA.

  14. Coach maybe called to see about cancelling game, what a huge f#&%ing story! Team has extra practice, NO WAY Team analyst helped players learn s#!t, WHAT??

  15. The silver lining: These were the best practices the team had all year.

  16. Meh. After Penn State's slap on the wrist the NCAA can take any punishment they dream up and stuff it up their a$$.

  18. WE'VE HIT THE BIG TIME...BABY!!!! Yeah....none of Alabama's 34 "analysts" ever help coach a drill.

  19. Can’t say I’m a fan of the NCAA and their selective investigations but regardless of what other programs did, Nebraska, and the fans, have always prided themselves on doing things the right way. We can’t point fingers when we get caught.

  20. I see a few more folks came on to show how much their panties are in a wad. Dumb investigation.

  22. The more I think about this, the less I care about the actual "scandal" here. Like, last year I know for a fact that USF invited boosters to check out “backyard pickup football” after the lockdown. There were even invited via email. Everyone was doing stuff like this to keep their program field ready. So dumb. Our program sucking bothers me more.

  23. Quite the Nebraska/Frost hit piece with the way the article jumps around between these allegations and the Oklahoma stuff.

  24. Wait .. unauthorized workouts by guys on the football team! That's where I draw the line. We use to have standards around here. This is a joke.

  25. This one cracked me up. It screamed, I personally didn't make calls to get the game switched, but I had someone else do it. Gotta love plausible deniability.

  30. Honestly they should allow more coaches in the grand scheme of things. Or allow a certain number of analysts to have on field coaching hours etc. It seems counterproductive to the student athlete in some capacity doesnt it?

  31. I don't think the problem is the allegations themselves. My issue is the amateurish nature of our athletic department. They lack any sort of professionalism and it's a big reason - including a complete lack of success on the field - why Nebraska is quickly becoming a joke in college football. Bill Moos retiring without being aware of it? Not professional. Grow some halls, fire the guy, and move on. We'll play anybody, including in Kazakhstan? Then don't try to skip playing Oklahoma because you don't have the coaching ability to make the game competitive. Also the pointing of the finger - was it Frost or Moos who started it? - is not professional. Constantly using the previous staff as an excuse? Not professional. Scott's team got pushed around plenty last season, including being blown out by and Illinois team that fired their coach. Frosts team is just as soft as Mike Riley's. The list goes on. Firing up Indiana by saying you wished you played them more instead of Ohio State (and losing to them), complaining about Iowa clapping, etc. The Athletic Department has been plauged by clowns for a long time now, and Scott Frost is leading the show.

  33. I know, I just can't wait for the blowout of Illinois to start a winning season so we can put this behind us.

  34. Well after this season, I assure you he will. Just got that feeling.

  35. It would be quite the redemption story if Frost is still somehow the coach at Nebraska 3 years from now. He is backed so far up against the wall that the insulation is tickling his a** crack.

  36. Who is back stabbing? IMO, college football depends on winning and that will cure any of these allegations brought to light. The story is just one big salacious round of telephone, to which the “issues” are drummed up. If there’s something more then I’ll listen, but for now I don’t think they recruits or coaches they’d want to bring it would care, and in fact they can use this to weed people out. It’s just as good to know who to keep away from your program as it is to bring in.

  37. I disagree fellas. He didn't do everything, he could have actually hired a ST coach and this wouldn't have been an issue with on field coaching. I think we were one of just 5 Power 5 teams without a full time ST coordinator last year.

  38. Can one consider McMurphy a sports journalist or is he just a gossip king who follows sports?

  39. The punishment should be the Huskers aren't allowed to kickoff all year. All opponents start at the 35. That would actually be a win for NU

  40. Clearly a nothing burger in the grand scheme. There is no mention of this on ESPN currently looks like the local media finding something to jump on and blow out of proportion.

  42. Earlier this year, Frost and Lambrecht were key proponents, along with other administrators, in trying to drop Nebraska’s Sept. 18 game at Oklahoma, a source said. In March, I reported Nebraska was trying to get out of playing OU, marking the 50th anniversary of the 1971 OU-NU Game of the Century. Nebraska contacted several Group of 5 Conference schools to replace Oklahoma on the schedule, sources told me. However, once my report became public, the negative blowback from Nebraska’s fan base forced the Huskers to play the game as scheduled. “Frost and Gerrod Lambrecht shopped around trying to find a replacement for Oklahoma without the permission of (then-athletic director) Bill Moos,” a source said. “Frost was in favor of removing the Oklahoma game.” Moos, who announced his retirement as NU’s AD three months later in June, “jumped on the grenade for that debacle” and took the public relations hit, a source said.

  43. Only a few get caught. Always. Everyone pays players under the table. Everyone probably did this last year. You’d be naive to think otherwise. How dare these kids get ..coached and worked out!!
