I mean Scott Frost was the best option at the time we hired him according to almost every fan, pundit and knowing talking head. We’re a at least 2-3 years away from actually knowing if the next HC was the best option or even a good option.

Was trying to be nice and say that Omar can’t handle tough coaching and he is a weenie so no. Mickey expects accountability and Omar can’t even string two practices together most times.

For someone who claims to consume "both sides" of the news, you seem unaware that Fetterman is correct, and you seem to be unnecessarily attempting to frame her as the racist. There were several incidents involving Black kids trying to use public pools in the past few years. They made big news - just not in every corner of the media. This is what Fetterman is referring to. She did not imply that swimming itself is racist as you're attempting to make it sound. Google "Fetterman swimming racist" and the first two dozen hits are right wing media frothing over the sound bite. Google "swimming in america racist history" and you'll get results explaining what Fetterman is talking about.

NU is the best job out of the schools that have a bad recruiting base. We know that. Out of all the schools in the Big Ten NU is as of right now, 3rd/4th in terms of recruiting. Once USC/UCLA join it will be 5th/6th. At worst In the Big Ten NU will be top 3 in terms in NIL though. Possibly top 2 behind OSU. Everything is in place at NU to not only win (See Bo) but win big. Indiana, Purdue, Minny (Check the records, PJ is the same as the two guys before him), Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland, MSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, NW...none of those teams are getting "better" than the best season that they have had in the last 20 years, they just aren't and you can argue they will, for the most part, get worse or stay where they have been. USC adds a very tough game. UCLA has the image of being a good team but check it out over the years, they usually are pretty average. The top 12 will start to make the playoffs and that will include 2-4 teams from the Big Ten. You can "pen" in OSU, you can pencil in Michigan. After that...it will be USC, PSU (some years) and NU (if they just get a Bo type coach) competing for spots 3-4.

Comments like this and what Mickey said are not wrong and there’s nothing wrong with saying them. In fact, when an organization isn’t succeeding, it needs said. Now, the current players can step up and be those players. They have every opportunity. But, if not, we need better players.

Privatizing SS is one of the worst ideas ever. Just like the stock markets, we'd have to bail it out every decade or so plus the middle men would make a pretty penny instead of that going to the retirees. Plus guaranteed benefits would be cut with no guarantees of the private investments covering the difference.

What he's saying is that Mickey's style of coaching may not be the best for Omar's mental state. In other words, Mickey is an old school hard a$$ and Omar needs a bit of coddling to keep his confidence up, which Mickey isn't likely to give. Anyone who has coached knows different kids need different kinds of motivation/support. So the Omar/ Mickey fit might not be the best.

Both of these are pretty misleading... Trump lost jobs due to COVID. Any sitting president at the time would have (every other country did as well), and the recovery was going to take time. Biden took over before we recovered all the jobs, so now he gets to claim those numbers that got us back to breaking even, as well as the truly new jobs that were created. This is akin to Trump taking credit for the economic growth he inherited from Obama. Again, COVID wrecked GDP. In 2018 GDP was at almost 3%, and if you want to do a more fair comparison by quarters (since that's what they used for Biden) you're probably going to find a few that were over 3% for Trump. We'll see where we're at in 2 more years...

This is long known. One of the reasons he left TCU. Omar is physically very gifted but putting it all together has been a struggle. I don’t think mentally a guy like Mickey is the best fit for his issues. Mickey expects a lot. Omar couldn’t hack it. Which is okay.

It's just amazing to me that people who actually listen to Lake, Walker, Oz, Johnson et all think that any of them is qualified for the role. One should be forced to just read transcripts and not watch their TV prescence and then explain what they just read. Can't be done. I think what he was saying that is that because of Omar's issues he doesn't jive well with Mickey's coaching style (at least as a position coach).

Anyway, I see we have reached the "NU is terrible and no coach in his right mind will want to come here" part of the coaching search.

I think they’re absolutely related in that these kind of terrible rulings, not recusing from blatant conflict of interest cases (since his wife is an election denier), etc. will continue until there’s accountability for SCOTUS. The dog and pony show that is the confirmation hearings doesn’t count. From that point on, zero accountability. Some would argue that’s by design, but how long will people be OK with that if rulings continue to stray further from mainstream opininon?
