  1. This thread is to discuss coaches/players coming and leaving. NOT to argue about who is delusional. NO ONE CARES!

  2. You are absolutely correct. And this is why NIL and the portal ruined CFB. No loyalty or commitment except to the almighty dollar. How are fans supposed to support players or programs in this environment?

  3. My take…. if you are deciding “if” you want to retire or come back, you can’t give the effort you or the program deserve. Anytime the going gets tough, you will have that thought in the back of your mind that you should have retired and begin looking forward to the end of the year…. Trust me on this !!!

  4. I have no idea. Deion had his son stand up at the press conference today and said his son is the new starting QB at CU.

  5. How is Liberty a so called better job then Coastal Carolina?

  6. Being called Coach Prime is Marketing 101 which is part of Recruiting 101.

  7. Not to worry. The message boards are full of experts who have already done the heavy lifting for you and have fully evaluated him as well as every other coach, analyst and support personnel hired by HCMRh. Unfortunately, you're not going to like their verdict.

  8. An argument could be made that Raiola is not a bad coach, but (especially without Nouili & Prochazka) he just didn’t have the horses. We just don’t know (for sure). A current Ohio St. commit (named Raiola) switching to Nebraska might also hang in the balance. As a coach, he MAY deserve at least another year’s evaluation, under a new HC & OC.

  9. I appreciate what Deion did at Jackson State as he tried to raise the profile and $ for a HBCU. However, if Deion isn’t about himself, why does he insist that everyone (including the media) calls him “Coach Prime”? You can’t call him Coach Sanders, or if you know him personally, Deion, you have to him “Coach Prime”. That ego and narcissism may work in high school or the SWAC, but it won’t work long term in Power 5 college football.

  10. I know of no evidence that this will happen, but I wonder with Colorado being a border state if Coach Prime will come into the picture. It may not happen, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Sanders comes in and tries to make an impression. Just saying.

  11. Deion Sanders said it himself its not about money as to why he chose Colorado and I knew it wasn't bc that's not what he cares about. He cares about making a impact on kids lives and also changing the narrative of being a African American Head Coach.

  12. Okay, the Georgia game has been over for 15 seconds…why haven’t we heard yet?

  13. Interesting approach. They were terrible and I assume he said if you hire me this is what I am doing. Essentially both he and Rhule have to rebuild rosters. I strike Deion is going to completely upset the apple cart while Rhule is going to change some apples. Heck let's take some Colorado apples if they make sense. This is where I hope our staff can evaluate and build sustained team depth. Whereas Deion seems to be quick fix with I got the a better QB, a better RB than you and some other 5 star guys so I am beating you. Winning brings more winnings so if it works it will snowball for him but if it doesn’t work he’ll flame out. I’ll be really interested to see their recruiting ranking but wow he makes no bones about getting weak players out of there as he knows he can replace them with better ones. Totoise snd the hare approach. He’s going to jump out to a fast start and then we’ll see what the end rosters look like and how translates to the field with results. CU has nothing to lose though. It’s boom or bust for them.

  14. I get it. I think Deion will upgrade their talent. But, I don’t think it will make CU much more talented than the rest of the PAC 12. Throw in the fact that he will be facing much better coaching and opponents, I think CU will still struggle, and what will Deion do then?

  15. So, he is admitting he was recruiting JS players to Colorado while he was still the coach at JS. Isn’t that some kind of violation?

  16. There just needs to be some limitations. NCAA is not longer amateur athletics.
    3 points
  17. These students are not regulated by the NCAA (well, maybe cheerleaders, I don’t know), so their status as amateurs never would have been threatened by making money off their likenesses in the first place. I mean, I was in the band and good at academics but was simply too humble and studious to cash in on my incredible fame and good looks while I was in school.

  18. You kind of missed my point. 1- I’m maybe weird but I don’t particularly like the NFL. I’ll watch a game from time to time but I don’t have a team that breaks my heart when they lose or that makes me happy when they win. Only time I’m invested at all is when I have wagered on a game. 2- It doesn’t matter who is on the Huskers and I still support them but it is different now. Used to be you’d enjoy seeing players progress in their career. Now it’s more of a new mercenary squad every year. I still want Nebraska to win but it feels way different. The players are a commodity and their only purpose is to do their job or gtfo. It’s NFL light. Did I mention I don’t really care for the NFL?

  20. Deion will leave if he has very good to great results at CU and FSU isn't quite making it to conference championships/a few rounds of the 12 team playoff Rhule will leave if\when PSU comes open and he's having success here

  23. I am aware of Matt Rhule's history. That's not lost on me. However, after job hopping for a few stops, I'm hoping Rhule will want to stick around one place for a while.

  24. Matt rhule has a way higher chance of leaving Nebraska. Look at Matt's history he is a job hopper. He signs long contract extensions and then leaves. In 2015 he signed an extension to be at temple until 2021, he left 18 months later. In Sept 2019 he signed an extension to be at Baylor until 2027. He left Baylor less than 4 months after signing that extension.

  25. Someone hasn’t looked at the previous years stats on how many kids entered the portal vs how many found a landing spot and then actually wants even more to enter the portal

  26. Next year doesn't matter it's literally a tear down/rebuild. If you base anything on the first half of next year you're being foolish.

  27. Once a player enters the transfer portal, the program the athlete currently attends is no longer required to honor the player’s scholarship. Even if a player enters the transfer portal and later withdraws their name, their current program is no longer obligated to honor their scholarship.

  28. Because Liberty can pay more than Coastal Carolina.

  29. The hire of Sanders changes the trajectory of everything for CU football, including financially. My contact for CU tickets is a CU season ticket holder who has already told me no. I will probably buy CU season tickets like I used to do every other year during the B12 years. Those will spike too. Absolutely Boss move by CU.

  30. $7 million pool to hire your old buddies, who else does this sound like and how well did that work out? Good grief

  31. It's a chance. If a player enters the portal, the school does not have to honor their scholarship if they withdraw. Plus, if they do transfer, the player has to sit out unless they are a graduate or the head coach changes

  34. I guess after a conference championship, it’s hard to argue with Adrian when he said this is the most talented team he’s been in in his career.

  35. If you start Heinrich over Hausman you are a doofus. Nick was absolutely terrible this year. Dude is one big arm tackle. Too frail to play inside, takes bad angles, & he is awful in coverage

  36. I watched the full video. He basically told the current players that he’s going to change things and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Nothing wrong with setting those expectations. It will be interesting how many guys he does run off, because it will be difficult to flip a whole roster through the transfer portal. He mentioned he will be bringing about 10 guys from Jackson State. While those players are talented, that’s a huge jump in competition for those guys.

  38. Gonna wait a couple weeks to tell them who they hired?

  39. I'm sure there will be. Portal opens tomorrow (for most guys) so there will be a flood of new entrants and then figure out who we're going to target.

  40. Based on Jackson State? Not saying he can’t, but I’d pump the brakes. Let’s see him do it in P5 week after week.
