It'll be interesting to see what a spring game would look like if Nebraska had an ordinary fan base.

Coaches hate spring games.  I see this as an excuse for most to cancel them and just have another practice/controlled scrimmage.

@Red Five Yeah but our coaches love it for recruiting purposes because of how our fandom is. 

Starting a true freshman QB who hasn't been hit in live game action since 2016, 51 new scholarship players in the past year, completely new coaching staff, routines and terminology, combined with our road schedule, is a decent reason for caution. 

If this team wins 7 of our remaining 11 games, it'll be super impressive.

They might be right about needing another cupcake to go bowling.  We are rebuilding and the bowl prep would be great going into next year.  That's the reality of the situation Riley and the team put us in.  Some players have mentioned championship as a goal for this year which shouldn't mean much in terms of swaying fan expectations.  We need to see a lot of improvement on field before developing a championship mindset.

Mqybe for the fans but as far as players and coaches go championship mindset comes before championshio results

What’s funny is that I mentioned this dilemma to people at work this morning and only 1 of about 7 knew that the volleyball was actually going on. And the Target Center was less than 5 miles from where we were standing.

Yeah...that is sort of what I thought.  Those tickets are being driven up in price by the VB-Crazies.

Some rich booster needs to pony up some tickets and a crap load of busses.

They should but it will never happen.  Force them into a conference or dont play in the CFP without a conference championship.

Delta is usually pretty good about giving you a once a year exception to move a flight around when life happens. I've had to do it a couple times. Godspeed with you recovery!

Visited here for that Miami game... was so impressed he said he'd vote Ameer for Heisman if he could. Then we kinda just cooled on him. 

I don't know if we cooled on him or he on us.  The story I've heard since then was he was interested but we weren't at the top of his list.

I thought the crystal ball pick was saying Nebraska for him and then signing day came and, well, he went another way. We've always heard about these 'Silent Commits" that are going to sign when the day comes up but who are unwilling to do a verbal ahead of time. Had he been one of those guys, it would have changed Husker history. I really think Bo would still be here today. But he didn't come here. Bo wasn't able to get that one super star difference maker. He got more and more frustrated and... eventually, we know what happened.

I still say make all reactions transparent.  It would lead to more quality upvoting.  Bring back the eye roll and let people se who thinks they are morons, about 90% less would be handed out.  +1 's wouldn't flow like tears off ScottyIce's face.  It's about quality not quantity people.

Taggert pulled in a great recruiting class last year (Rivals #18) and was working on an even better class this year (#15).  Firing him now was a stupid, wasteful thing to do.  I hope they really s#!t the bed with their next hire.  

Not surprised at all, they wanted him to be the fall guy.  Should have given him another year.

Been looking at Florida myself. I cannot imagine being anywhere north of NE KS. Even in SE KS it’s so much less snow & about five degrees warmer. 

Everyone is different but I'd much prefer dealing with a few months of brutal cold and snow to the heat and unbearable humidity in many southern locales. The lucky folks in Nebraska get to deal with both

@sho the World Cup is expanding to 48 teams (from 32) in 2026, so it won't have a huge impact on teams qualifying if all 3 nations (US, Mexico, and Canada) are given bids to the tournament.

@HuskerInLostWages Plus there will be 48 teams in the 2026 field, so even if all three hosts get automatic bids, it will be mitigated to some degree.

@ColoradoHusk @schriznoederThat definitely makes it easier to give 3 host nations auto bids.  Should help other lower teams in CONCACAF get a shot at making it now too.

@Comforably Numb.  Yea I posted the same about status updates earlier and I also get a warning dialog.  Of course you can't see my previous status update since it's not the last three.

What's the rumor there?

Carriker's website sold ticket packages to the MN/WI games.  Included suite tickets, meet & greet with former Huskers, goodies (Yeti cooler, Nebraska meat package, HyVee gift cards, etc).  $1000 for 2 tickets.  Proceeds go to various Husker charities.

When people showed up to the MN game they were told suite tickets were no longer available and were given random tickets the group could find (including some in the MN section in upper North Stadium).  Needless to say it was a cold game and many weren't dressed to be sitting outside for 4 hours.  Everyone was also told that they would get a FULL REFUND and still all the goodies.

Same thing happened for WI game (except that people were told that Friday night the suite tickets were "gone").

Well its now 1.5 months later and no refunds and no goodies.  The contacts/Carriker keep saying "its on its way" and passing the buck to someone else.  There were even fake USPS tracking numbers that were given out that were supposedly the refund checks.  I guess one of the local Omaha news channels will be doing a story on this soon.

There are a couple threads on both the On3 and Rivals boards of people who bought the packages giving all the details.

All four of those plays in the sbnation link were awful mis-calls.  A couple of them are perplexingly bad.  I mean, this crew is supposed to be among the best in the nation, right?
