I know, I thought that @BigRedBuster was just making a post that included pictures of cheese to make his point.
I was wrong!

When @BigRedMax can't even spell a legend's name correctly: "Tommie Frazier is No. 8 in Sporting News’ top 10 college football players of all time, Tom Osborn is the No. 3 coach and Johnny Rodgers has the No. 5 play. | Top debate"
C'mon man!

Nebraska can win the game tomorrow.

Last season Martinez threw for 384 and 2 TDs, and that wasn't enough to make it competitive. Wisconsin just methodically stomped our a$$.
Frost's game management abilities were thoroughly exposed in that game and I don't think he's improved any in that regard. The defense is just as bad and Martinez is a lot worse.
Other than that we got a great shot.

This board has enough negativity for one person's lifetime.

What the heck happened to the status updates?

So it's been talked about, there is essentially a one-second rule for the snapper on field goal attempts. One second has to elapse before contact can be made. Obviously it was violated Saturday but that game had other officiating issues on both sides.
-
They could have just kept their flag in their pocket to expedite the ending and could have easily thrown it if the FG attempt was no good.
But yes, that game was rife with officiating issues to the point where the gaffes may outnumber the correctly called plays (not really...but it sure seems like it).

So I guess we won't be adjusting the posts per page... Great.
-
In this case our "taxes" are related to the number of clicks, if I understand correctly - or at least individual page views, which is increased with fewer posts per page. So it's more the lower posts per page/ads are the implementation of "taxes," and being free to post is still being huskerboard. I do think it hurts the quality of conversation though, things get missed when new pages are added so quickly.

I have a college football podcast if any HB members are interested in listening. Tech issues start at 19 minutes and last for a minute or two but next ep will be better. Linky Also search "Pudgee and the Fridge" on Spotify, deezer, and soon Google podcasts. Thanks

Man what Erstad did to Michigan is more amazing by the win.

The wins over Michigan (while they were in a down turn) are nice and it does show that NU can compete against good teams. Michigan has rode hot pitching and hot bats the past 3 weeks, and also never had to play the #1 seed (Oregon State) in the first regional. I give them a ton of credit for making it so far in the tournament.
I have also used the "it's baseball" comment a lot in the past. Unless the team is super dominant, which NU hasn't been historically, it's going to win games against better teams and also lose games against lesser teams. That's where the "it's baseball" comment is valid.
-
Michigan is 50-21 and Nebraska is 32-24. Baseball isn't like every other sport. The worst team in the league can beat the best team on any given night, but that's why they play 3 game series. You can't just look at one game or one series and make any general conclusions. Long Beach St. managed to go 1-0 against Michigan, but they finished 14-41. I think we would both agree that their one win doesn't make any big overall statement about the Long Beach program. This is why people say "it's baseball".

Big Ten is a crappy baseball league

Baseball is a crappy sport to base the strength of a league
edit: before this is taken as a "serious" comment, I'd like to clarify that I don't feel baseball is a fun sport for spectators (outside of overexcitable mothers....) But I do understand that there are people who find fulfillment in watching paint dry and grass grow. I don't wish to ruin their joy. Carry on

Erstad did such a horrible job this year beating Michigan three times.

I think the "hate" he gets is because he burned out on the job sometime in the two previous seasons and the product on the field reflected that. People were disgruntled over it - and chief among those was Erstad himself. He was very clear in his departure that if he felt he had done a better job, last year would have been his final season.
-
Thank you @knapplc hopefully Bolt can improve on a solid foundation.
-
Erstad's unevenness during the season was maddening--we've have a team that was able to go down to Baylor and win that series, but we couldn't win a series against Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, or Northwestern this season?
I'm hoping we get a more even keel, high energy team from Bolt. One that dropping a series to a lesser team is more of an aberration or fluke, and not the standard.

Omaha is 6 outs away. Time for Nebraska to clinch a berth in the Big Ten title game tonight!
