Terrorists shooting up San Bernadino, CA, at least 20 dead. http://gawker.com/as-many-as-20-victims-reported-in-san-bernardino-mass-s-1745757446

I need help coming up with a six-character specialized Husker plate. I tried 'Frosty', Fro5ty', and 'Fro57y', but they're all taken.

@HuskerNBigD thanks, trying that now. Completely overlooked doing that.

I don't know what's more shocking: that Urban didn't learn a damn thing from his stint at Florida, or that Brett McMurphy still doesn't have a job yet.

@Toe LOL...you're right. Good catch...though in all honesty, I should probably subscribe to both.
@ladyhawke Don't forget shops like BTN (which is majority owned by Fox). After the current deal is done, I wouldn't be shocked if we have another expansion and then more of the Top Tier games are saved for BTN exclusively (instead of ABC/ESPN or FOX OTA/Sports)--remember, the conference gets more ad revenue from the games that air on their channel compared to Disney/FOX.

So, Anonymous did good--they hacked Westboro Baptist Church and posted all of their members' personal and professional information online: http://www.inquisitr.com/440545/anonymous-hacks-the-westboro-baptist-church-posts-all-their-personal-information/

How hard is it to install tile for a kitchen? Needing to put a new floor in the kitchen, trying to save $$

If you live near a Menards , they sell a product called "Snap Stone." The underlayment is already bonded to the tile and they all snap together like legos. Then you use the grout that is made specially for this product. Its a little cheaper and a lot faster than the whole schmeel of laying tile. Only 6 or 8 colors but its a good product and easier for the average homeowner. You'd still need a wet saw however but they can be rented.

PSA: DON'T WATCH THE NEW SPIDERMAN TRAILER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN AVENGERS: ENDGAME YET.
For the rest of us keeping up on our Marvel s***, check out the new Spidey trailer HERE. And there's a couple of bombshells in the trailer. -
Okay...so I was more than a little dour after a big victory. Mea culpa. I should have focused on the positive and not the negative.

So, any chance we can find a job for David Beaty on our staff? The guy would be a big boon for our recruiting efforts, and we could always put him in charge of special teams...

@Melby Who is going to coach OLBs, then?
-
@ScottyIce we could always use him as an analyst. Just sayin’, this guy is someone the big programs are going to (supposedly) make room for because of his recruiting. So why not us if we’re looking to improve it in Texas?
-
Every time I see a new Batman v. Superman trailer, I'm disappointed that much more. Someone please reassure me that the end product isn't going to be s***.

Last minute Halloween idea—put on a Nebraska shirt (and pants), and *BAM* instant “Disgruntled Season Ticket Holder” costume!

I dressed up in my Columbia Husker coat and 17’ sideline coaches hat and a chick (mid 20’s) goes “ooohh you’re dressed scary dressing up as a Husker fan” as here and three other dudes with here started to laugh hysterically. If my son wasn’t by my side I was going to say “not as scary as you dressing up as a skank” haha
-
So, last night's "The Walking Dead" episode...I hear it was "finger lickin' good"...
-
What the **** BTN? The ACC Network has a streaming app for the consoles now, but you don't have s***?!?! C'mon, get with it!

Snow in Dallas. No more milk, eggs, or bread in the store. Ain't no party like a #FrenchToastParty because a #FrenchToastParty don't stop.

PSA: If you'd like to see if your data was part of the 170m people hack at Equifax, go to this link:
https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com/
Verification is with last six of your SS# and last name. If you're on the list, you can enroll for free credit monitoring for a year through Equifax.

@NM11046 Very good point. They do that to test the proverbial waters and see if you're paying attention, then soak you with a large charge at a later time.
I've caught a handful of those, partially because I'm very anal when it comes to receipts and finances.
-
@VectorVictor It's not that you want to sue, it's more that the free credit monitoring is only for a year and doesn't account for any future damages.
-
Seriously...why do people have a problem understanding the difference between possessive and plural nouns? Is it *that* difficult a concept to grasp?
-
So what's the over/under on the number of Harley Quinn costumes we'll see tonight?
-
So is mentioning Bo Pelini in a thread the Cornhusker equivalent of Godwin's Rule?

Wow...that Scorpio reveal was interesting. And running Forza 6 with 4K assets in 4K at 60 FPS...impressive.

Amazon looking to open a second headquarters in North America, 50k jobs, $5b in investment. Lincoln and Omaha should get in on that action...

@VectorVictor Alliance is a bustling metropolis.
-
@Cdog923 LOL...I think your definition of "bustling metropolis" and mine differ slightly.
-
@VectorVictorProbably true; I haven't been to Alliance in maybe 15 years. I hear they have a Sam & Louie's, though!

Our defense has given up a total of 355 yards and 7 points from the 3rd Quarter of Oregon through last Saturday's NIU debacle.
Save for not making adjustments soon enough vs. Oregon in the first half, I'd suggest our defense isn't a problem here.

@huskered17 To be fair, though, the playcalling has been a problem since Riley's first game against BYU in 2015. And Illinois 2015. And Pur-f******-due 2015.
-
I'd like to see that defense in a real test before I deem it not a problem. Oregon coasted the 2nd half and I wouldn't exactly classify NIU as a legitimate test of it. I want to think you're right but what I wanted to believe led me to thinking we'd annihilate NIU so I'm going to require concrete proof from here on out.

Question--how's the IT job market in Lincoln/Omaha looking these days? I've heard conflicting reports from the friends I've talked to back home about the job market up there...and I've given serious consideration to moving back to Lincoln if I can find gainful employment.

Thanks everyone. I’m in the development and process side of things as a Senior Business Analyst for IT...so while I don’t directly code, I work on project/process/problem management for all the different groups involved with hardware/software deployments, from PCI/SOX compliance, Operations, Marketing, and Tech Support (among others).
In short, I wear enough hats day to day to start my own haberdashery.
-
Very familiar with the BA side. There are jobs out there. I suggest looking at a place like Lincoln Financial Group in Omaha. Plenty of contract work out there as well or some full time. Shoot me a message if you want some connections.
To answer your question there is some work in that realm. Not bubbling over like it is for Developers but I bet if you put your nose to the grindstone you could find something in 2-4 months. -
@Minnesota_husker thanks, I'll take you up on that offer in the very near future, if that's alright with you?
And thanks everyone for the info. This would be a big move for my family if I can pull it off--a big, yet positive one I would hope. Public schools are decidedly better in Nebraska than in Texas, so I'd primarily be doing this for my kids.
And season tickets.
-
So Dedrick Mills is being compared to a more refined/efficient Correll Buckhalter. That's pretty good to hear for this season, all things considered.

@Cdog923, s**t, yes I did, my apologies. My attention to detail has been for s**t today.

@VectorVictor No worries, man.

Don't look now, but The Avengers movie is at 97% approval with 35+ reviews on Rottentomatoes.com.

Man Rio is a rough town...I took Google's invite to virtually go into the Favelas and still got robbed.
