Scottsbluff native Nate Lashley has a 6-shot lead after today’s 3rd round in the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. He got in the field as an alternate, and is one round away from a life changing PGA Tour victory.

As long as P.Ricketts is sullying the halls of the Governor's mansion, it won't happen in Nebraska unless his family gets a taste, legal or otherwise. And this Yahoo article does suggest that 35 states are poised to allow sports gambling within the next five years based on this ruling, so hopefully Nebraska is one of the 35?
If Nebraska isn't, I'll be sure to host a 'Husker betting party for folks at the beginning of each football season down here in Texass--after all, the only thing they love down here more than moral extremism is pure, unadulterated hypocrisy.
-
I doubt Nebraska is one of those 35, but I can imagine, those border states (Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, SD) are on that list, and once again Nebraska will be losing out on a large revenue stream to border states. On the bright side, Nebraskans can have the 'good life' with higher taxes...YAY us!

Shatel has a good article today about how Riley wasn’t recruiting Nick Henrich from Burke very hard, and Eichorst alienated Henrich’s parents. My brother also told me that when Bryson Williams from LSE visited NU, Riley asked Bryson how his flight was. Riley and Eichorst were the biggest jokes ever.

@TonyStalloniRight on. Ive said it for awhile now. Perlman was poison for athletics. You can have both great athletics and academics but some want to fight one way or the other for some reason. Mr. Burns, i mean Perlman, set our athletics back his whole tenure. Chancellor Green is getting things back on track but has a big mess to clean up from Perlman.

Shocker that Northwestern can’t win a game when the other team doesn’t have any turnovers/mistakes. When will people get off Fitzgerald’s jock?
-
Some of these are pretty good, especially the one on Nebraska.

Sounds like Maurice Washington is the real deal. Media, coaches, and players have been saying he's stood out in practice. It's huge that he's eligible this year.

The guys from SpreadFootball.com have a podcast that is slightly focused on the mid-90s Nebraska offense, and how it was ahead of it's time. I haven't listened to it yet, but I plan to this afternoon. http://ronmckiefootball.com/tfp44/

The what you will learn in this episode is very interesting:
Why running the QB is a game changer
How the QB counter is a deadly play
Why Nebraska was ahead of its time
How the defense hates playing against teams that have a running quarterback
Funny how defenders of Callahan and Riley still liked the statue QBs.

The return of college football also means the return of the Surrender Cobra!

Unpopular Opinion Alert - Rob Zatechka was on The Bottom Line with Mike'l Severe and he said that he and many former players haven't been happy that the "Husker Prayer" was made public. Zatechka said that he's happy the fans have embraced it, but he also said that he wishes it would have stayed internal as a "players only" thing.

Watching the live stream of Nebrasketball in Italy right now. I have no idea who any of the players are, but they look long and athletic. The team looks like they haven't played together much, but they push the tempo a lot and half-court sets involve a lot of guys out on the perimeter to create space for a deep post-up or drive and dish.

All the coaches in the ESPN film room during the OU-Georgia game were making fun of rugby tackling. #Eichorsted

Can we stop acting like Northwestern is a good team? If NU loses to them it's an embarrassment.

Congrats to Turner Gill and Liberty with the win over Baylor!!!

Ed Orgeron has a $12 million buyout if he's first in his first year at LSU. That will get him some job security.

Frost gives Perlman and Eichorst a middle finger in his PC. Love it!!

Greetings from beautiful Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I may need to watch the Husker game this weekend on my phone, but it's well worth it

Greg Schiano could end up with $20.75 M for Tennessee for being "fired without cause". It's a sticky situation, but I think Schiano would have a good case. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21742751/greg-schiano-earned-277m-6-plus-years-scrapped-tennessee-deal

True, @HuskerNBigD, but I think Meyer is thinking "glad to have you back, Greg, Tennessee really screwed you over."
-
IMO it seemed more like Ten folks just hated the hire and dig some digging so they could stop the hire. Yeah, the stories could be true but it's really a he said/he said kind of thing.
In other words if Tennessee had hired Saban no one would have bothered turning over all the rocks to find something damning.
-
Agree, @RunMickeyRun02. Clay Travis was the big Tennessee guy who was mad at the hire, and dug up this stuff at Penn State and started the Twitter storm. That exploded on campus, and Schiano was all of a sudden "not the hire".

HOLY CRAP, EICHORST OUT!!!

How about the RB from Last Chance U and his brother that was at Indiana have been charged with murder????
