so you can't carry a knife in London, now? I can't remember ever NOT carrying a knife. Thank the good Lord I was born in this great country.... #USA

Dan Hoppen getting called out by current players on Twitter is always a good thing.

UCF says nobody will play them, yet Gators offered a 2 for 1 and they said no? Cowards.

If UCF plays and beats a playoff worthy team in their non-con they’ll get in. The problem is their best non-con wins the last 2 years were 8-5 FIU and 7-6 Pitt. Throw in an FCS team both years and the fact that both years they’ve only played 11 regular season games, both of their cancelled games being against (admittedly poor) P5 opponents and I don’t know how you can reasonably argue they’ve played a playoff worthy schedule.
UCF doesn’t have a win against a top 25 team this year and their highest rated opponent according to Sagarin is Cincy at 39. Heck 3 AAC opponents they’ve beaten are ahead of Pitt in the Sagarin.

Wisconsin Twitter seems to think last night was J. Taylor's last game at Camp Randle. The (arguably) best RB in CFB history leaving isn't a bad thing.

What's going on with Mike'l Severe? Seen some tweets referencing him leaving 1620?

Am I the only one that JUST found out Kevin Spacey was gay?

ColoradoHusker. I’m sure it’s terribly hard. Some never do come forward. I cannot even begin to imagine the horror they must live with, what a destructive force that must be in their lives to carry such a buden and I hope no one here thinks I am dismissing the victim’s plight in ang way, because I’m not. I guess my question remains why now? And it could be exactly because of what Zoogs shared but I just get this niggling feeling that there is something more going on here. Then again perhaps it is all exactly as reported. I’m sure it will all come out.
-
Wow. Am I getting an education. Zoogs thanks for starting me considering why sexual assault victims don't come forward right away. I found two really good articles on the topic. However, I still wonder about this particular case.

@zoogsFrom my understanding and what ive read, he doesnt want to name names until his book comes out. Hes trying to make $$ off of it. Or, if someone paid him enough for an interview he might drop. But from my understanding it sounds like hes looking for a way to make $$ before he does.

As far as business expenses go, a brand new 1 ton Silverado is probably my favorite one yet.

UCF very well could of been one of the 4 best teams, but with that resume they didn't belong in a 4 team playoff. Not even sure how that part is debatable.

We have a board for politics. Let's keep this stuff there please: http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/forum/151-politics-religion/

Hot Damn! The OWH crew has been extra salty towards Nebraska Football today, on the tweeter.

Dirk is an average writer to me. Sam used to be excellent. When he first started out his articles were interesting because they were real, fresh. As he became more popular his writing became more mundane. I want the old Sam back. This one is seems to be rather jaded-like the subject doesn't interest him anymore so he's resorting to. 'Click bait' mentality. I hate that.
Knappic, are you a writer yourself? Or are in the journalist field?
-
I'll read Dirk's long form pieces; he did a story a few years ago about how football is dying in small-town Nebraska which is one of my favorite sports stories. I was also really looking forward to his series on Danny Nee until they hid a vast majority of it behind their online paywall.
Sam has just gone off the deep end since joining the OWH.

"I can only take so much of the new rap stuff, without getting some Johnny Cash and country music in there." This Frost guy just keeps getting better, and better.

We've got players responding to fans, which is always a good sign.

Paraphrasing here: "You want to see an a$$ kicking watch that last drive." It was after one of Minnesota's long, run heavy drives.
It wasn't wrong, but seemed like an oddly aggressive choice of words from a guy covering the team.
-
Players are best to just move on. Its not fair, but with Twitter you are fighting usually a nameless/faceless army who receives zero punishment for what they say but when you are a face/name, you win nothing going after them. It is not fair for those guys regardless of how they played, but again, what do you get by going back at a person? Everyone is frustrated.

Just bought a PS4, still in box (haven't had time)....Question for the "gamers". Do I have to have the PlaystationPlus to play games, or can I just put the damn disc in and play?
-
I feel bad for those on the board that thought this was going to be close (some thought we'd win!). Time to start over. I'd hope we can all agree on that after this...

Ya, I think we played well. I felt we would get beat by 35 if we played well. If we helped contribute to the slaughter then it would be worse. We didn't beat ourselves tonight. Personally, I had us as 7-5 for the season before it started and did not think this game would be close. I just don't think we are any where near the program OSU is.
-
B.B., ya, but I didn't really ever believe we had the capability to stop them. The players looked like they cared a bit more then MR. I think OSU was pissed we scored 3 points on them last time and will probably have some major pay back for the 14 we scored this year. They seem to take it all personal.
Trust me, I get you point. My perspective is just a bit different.

Kenny Bell makes an ass out of himself on Twitter.... And I can say that because I'm young too....

Greenland being invited to the U.S. is the equivalent of Rutgers being invited to the B1G.

Come now, @Moiraine, surely an equal-area projection would be more appropriate for that! I think a nice Mollweide projection is a good choice for showing Greenland.

Outside of just really, really wanting it to work with him, I don't know the argument for keeping Frost employed. Is there one?

@ZRod This is a blue collar league. You start a bunch of Freshmen, they're going to get eaten alive.
Kinda like this year so far. What was the stat they showed during the game? _____ so much of our production this year has come from Freshmen?
The coaches are getting raked for losing the games we've lost. They're trying to win a few games here & there. But if they bench everyone with experience, they get killed in every game.

Dan Wetzel (who covered the Sandusky trial better than anyone in sports media) has a good take on it

Also here's Dan Wolken on USA Today (who broke the Schiano to UT story) with a recap of the events

Jeans are a normal clothing option. Hell, I wear them almost everyday. So, why does it seem so weird when HCSF is wearing them in all those recruit pics?

My source has informed me that @ZRod only wears the skinniest of skinny jeans

OWH further limiting their article access is annoying.... I get it, but still annoying.

@Decked, that's true. But the $9.95 a month also gives a person access to the "Mom"oha articles....
-
They've got a 99 cent for the first month, $9.95/month rate after that.
I've had a subscription for about three years because it was important to me to support the local newspaper. That online rate is better than what I have now but it really is worth it if you take the time to dig into what you get for that price. I've also had Huskers Online and 247 subs. I cancelled them after a year because I still think the OWH, collectively, does it better than anyone else. Just my two cents.
