  2. Why did you single AOC out instead of titling this “Donald Trump and AOC” ? Neither of them served.

  3. Did not know he was from Michigan until I heard them talk about it earlier. Apparently Michigan's coach wasn't too happy to see him go. How do you like dem apples?!

  6. I think you're overrating what that vote would mean by then. It would go something like this, say in a debate: The more time that passes from the Trump era the less people will care about this stuff. None of these senators will be running for President until at the least 2024. I istened to a Pod Save America podcast yesterday while driving where they discussed impeachment. I ultimately most aligned with Tommy's argument, which was basically this: Impeachment has zero probability of removing Trump from office. It does ultimately give him another talking point to say he's been exonerated, not just by Barr but also by the Senate, which increases the likelihood of him winning another term. There's very likely nothing we will find out from impeachment hearings that we can't find out from the oversight they're doing now - testimony, subpoenas, contempt proceedings, etc. Public polls indicate people mostly really dislike Trump but also hate the idea of impeachment by about a 2:1 margin. Politically, not impeaching is the smart move right now, even if it's ethically correct and exactly what was constitutionally intended to address this situation. Hyperpartisanship and Mitch McConnell have broken the mechanism that would allow the process to work as intended. At this point, drag them and bloody them as much as possible using investigations to uncover the rampant criminality and corruption of this administration. Doing the "right thing" and impeaching gains us nothing and potentially blows up in our faces. The GOP took the gloves off a long ago and decided no rules applied to them. I say we take ours off, play hardball and expose them as much as possible without playing into their hands. Then we go vote them out with overwhelming numbers next year to send a message about their behavior. Basically no political remedy exists for this level of don't give a f#ck corruption other than destroying them electorally.

  8. Michigan honestly didn't look that great beating up on hapless Maryland. And look at the series Michigan had with Maryland--Michigan scored no fewer than ten runs against Maryland in each outing this season, so Michigan really just had their number: 7-10 4-10 1-13 4-10 I like our chances against Michigan and their midweek starter (IIRC Michigan spent their F/Sa/Su starters in the three games getting to this point), and I think we did well against their relief too. As long as the kids keep racking up pitch counts and attacking at the plate, we should be good.

  17. Hit 25 off my peak weight ever today. Probably haven't been this weight since 2011 or 2012. Pretty f#&%ing pumped about it. Genuinely all I have been doing is running(mostly fast walking to start) as often as I get myself to the gym after work and very basic body weight exercises and a little bit with 15 lb dumbbells at home when I am bored. I started struggling to get to 2 miles and now 3.5 felt normal today. I don't want to minimize the work b/c I appreciate everyone needs different things to see results, but I cannot believe how much has melted away with relatively little lifestyle change. I haven't changed my diet much at all(no keto or anything, still eat bread and pasta, still drink beer), not consistent at all run 5 days some weeks 2 days others and have never felt like I have really killed myself. It is just encouraging that just moving makes such an impact. I understand you get to a point of diminishing returns, but just having the habit of going to the gym and having the stamina to knock down a quick 5k feels like a great base to build off of. I appreciate the posts that I have read here though, it will help me going forward to shift to getting stronger now that I have approached a more reasonable weight and have better stamina. I have no advice for meal plans or workout schedules, my advice would just be to start. This kind of stuff was never my thing(and still really isn't, I am a huge novice still), but I like it a lot now and it gets easier every day.

  20. Leaked GOP talking points: Forced birth better than abortion for rape, incest victims This is the kind of crap that gives the pro-life crowd a bad name. Honestly disgusting: No doubt these chuckleheads have no idea how incredibly tone deaf this stuff will come off to the women they are addressing.

  21. Yeah I don't think selling beer in the stadium is going to cause any worse problems. If anything, beer sales may cut down on cases of people getting completely sh#tfaced. Right now those who want to, sneak in hard liquor because those bottles are easier to conceal. Nobody is wasting their time sneaking in lower alcohol content beer. When I was a student it was half pints of Yukon Jack or Southern Comfort. Long story short, anyone who is wanting to get inebriated already is. I don't really care one way or the other but I would have a beer or two during a game.

  24. There are also countries where people make far less money and own far fewer things, but also have simpler lives and tighter-knit families and communities. So when you say how good we have it in the U.S., there are other metrics that are harder to measure.
