  1. https://www.omaha.com/livewellnebraska/health/a-cure-of-hiv-is-possible-unmc-temple-researchers-eliminate/article_08544d69-cc0b-5743-b70f-ea47eccb8cad.html I know this isn’t football related so move it if you must but a massive medical breakthrough happened through UNL and I wanted to make sure it got the recognition on here it deserves. Really incredible stuff from UNMC.

  2. This could happen. But people love to say this and it only happens sometimes- like Wandale. Not saying he won't reopen his commitment. Or A&M could potentially pile up on corners making him want to leave. However, his mom loves the SEC and his coach loves A&M. He is gone so it is time to start recruiting corners who want to be here instead of trying to convince those who won't come here. Frost wants kids who want to be here. This guy doesn't want to come so we will most likely look for others- unless something pops up. Also, we are not going to get loads of elite talent until we start winning. Yes, we can get a good 8-10 4 *kids but to get 15+ 4 star guys we need to win. Simple as that. We have plenty of time and they have gotten many players in a short amount of time before. I think this year we will get more guys committed who are on campus for games.

  3. This is a tough call in my mind. 1. Stay at NU and maybe never really play BUT always be a Husker which as we know carries crazy weight in this state. Hooked up with good jobs, radio gigs, possible job at NU or 2. Transfer and end up at a bit of a smaller school but play a ton. I had a friend that I met freshmen year at NU...walked on...never really played except on some extra points in blowouts...HATED IT by the end...I mean HATED IT...but guess what he always brought up on his resumes and at interviews...

  4. It's crazy that there is a 5 star WR prospect in-state. I know many media pundits have stated that they believe Watts is the best player in Nebraska, but I don't believe so. Betts does not have a QB worth a lick throwing to him. If he just had a decent to 1AA Qb caliber throwing to him, he would be a top 20 player in the country, highest to come out of the state, and highest Nebraska has ever signed in the modern era. Don't mind me, just making Kool-Aid statements today.

  5. My least favorite thing about following recruiting is airing out a kid's academic situation. I guess it comes with the territory but it's disturbing to me to see strangers discussing the grades of a high school student just to make sure he can qualify to play football. No one really knows the situation and the ones who do shouldn't be sharing it anyway.

  6. NBA free agency (and things happening off the court) are more interesting and fun to talk about than actual NBA games.

  12. Do you think we would’ve beaten Purdue in late November? I do. Also, we had momentum in the 4th quarter. I think we would’ve lost regardless but I recall some really questionable penalties when we had that momentum. I think that’s the only game where I was mad about penalties.

  13. I'm just saying the B1G needs to get on an even playing field. I look at it like Poker where you some teams have more chips and are more likely to win. By limiting oversigning you put yourself at a disadvantage. I'd be all for NU to the SEC, the SEC wants to win and doesn't hide it. The B1G is somehow too honorable to go the full extent the rules allow. I don't think football is at as much of a disadvantage as baseball, anyone know why the baseball teams are severely limited in oversigning. Having teams from much smaller conferences have more baseball success shouldn't happen, but with the limits on over signing the conference can only hope for a lucky run every few decades like what we saw from MI this year.

  15. Rankings get bumped up with the more commits you have. We have the 3rd best avg right now. We will probably finish at 4th overall at the end of the year, 3rd if the season goes well.

  18. Said he's considering Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, USC, Penn State and Georgia. Not a bad group to be in. Has an OV set up to Penn State this fall. Says he's going to visit Nebraska yet this summer. Visiting Michigan and Michigan State later this month.

  19. That jersey has the 150 patch on it. Those might be the 3rd semi-permanent unis they were talking about in lieu of an alternate. If so, that is awesome. Cold as ice.

  20. All this over a Tucker Carlson spot on Fox & Friends. Wild. Carlson is right, in a narrow sense. Anyone who leads a country and commands a military indirectly contributes to loss of human life when they utilize it. However, I'm a bit confused what that has to do with North Korea. It seems like a weak deflection so he doesn't have to substantively critique Trump's North Korea strategy. Probably intentionally, because it's absurd and not working. In this scenario, who exactly are the "bad" people and who are "worse" people? All I see is a vain old rich dude soaking up the limelight with a brutal dictator who flatters him. We've extracted nothing of value, given up military exercises and allowed the Norks to continue expanding their nuclear arsenal. Trump may be convinced he's winning bigly but that's just not reality. Also, ZRod, my beef here was never with you. It was always with Carlson because I find him repugnant.

  21. Glad to see Kenny is still his thoughtful self. It's amazing how bent out of shape right-wingers get any time anyone makes even the milquetoast critique of something like the flag, a symbol. Also, isn't the point of free enterprise that Nike has the right to do whatever it wants regardless of public pressure? Ricketts continues to be an embarrassment to our state.

  26. Then goes on to defend them and Trump by literally saying it’s silly and stupid to point out they’re mean, and for the record, referring to torture as “mean” is bad enough by itself to not even need the full quote above. He may have had other intentions or was trying to make things sound better but I think he accidentally said exactly what he feels in the quoted part. His intentions at all turns are to defend Trump, who for the most part is indefensible. Him saying NK is indefensible means nothing. People always talk this way when they’re about to say something stupid. “I have Black friends but,” “North Korea is evil but.” Also, I didn’t comment on the tweeted headline nor was it what caught my attention.

  30. Taking the partial qualifiers was something the Big 8 was in full support of, until they went to the Big 12. That’s when Texas and the other SWC schools persuaded that NU had a huge advantage over the rest of the Big 8 schools, so they changed the rules. It wasn’t a big deal then, it shouldn’t be a big deal now. Yes, it would be great if kids get full academic qualification right out of high school, but I am more proud of the kids who were partial qualifiers, but then turned out to be great student-athletes during their time in college.

  31. Day wants to run a pro-style offense and get away from Meyer's running-QB system, although he may need to run Justin Fields more than he would like until such time that he has his QB's in the program, but that will take at least two years.

  34. Three Nebraska courses made the list. 41 Prairie Club (Dunes) 70 Wild Horse 89 Prairie Club (Pines) I'm surprised at how many on the list are links courses. I love playing links courses, but I'm just surprised that they dominate the list. 7 of the top 10.
