  1. I'm sure the majority will not be satisfied if year 5 is not significantly better. As for me, I'm done with coaching changes. I'd probably piss and moan but I will never call for a coaching change again. If it comes to that, I'll just force myself to quit caring.

  2. Fans who expect us to be good with 1 full recruiting class is sitting with washington smoking too much wacky weed. Mr. Rogers Riley took the program to all time lows. That's takes time to fix. These kind of topics are idiotic.

  3. Satisfaction is a loaded term. At this point in NU football I would be satisfied with seeming improvement. I think we led the nation in TO's under Bo with TM, Riley with Lee and now under Frost with AM we sit at 124....I'd be satisfied with no blow out losses. Stomping "inferior" opponents. Less penalties....IMHO, this would translate to wins.....BUT just seeing us look like a competent football team regardless of W-L would be improvement. Another concern I have is that Solich couldn't recruit.....Cally was Callly, Bo was too mean and only had success with Cally's recruits 9 wins was smoke and mirrors, Riley just sucked and Frost inherited a mess.....We are going on roughly 18 years of continued turmoil in NU football. Blaming the former coaches, players etc....We have yet to right the ship. Can Frost do it? I hope so. If he can't, I am unsure who can. I do not think that Frost's offense as he ran at UCF will be successful in the B1G. The B1G top to bottom is more physical, better athletes, more speed, colder weather and just a better conference top to bottom than the AAC. Will elements work? Of course, BUT I am still waiting for the HUSKER POWER part to show up. Unsure about the staff as a whole. They are young, inexperienced in some spots and this is a brand new league. I'm not satisfied now. Too much regression IMHO. Too much talk of lack of buy in, culture issues, selfishness from the players. Lack of physicality, identity etc..in year 2. Go back to looking like NU and I'll be satisfied. Until we are not playing in the conference championship and then not winning and then not making it into the playoffs, and not winning......... One step at a time. Satisfaction is continually evolving based upon our level of success.... As to being patient, that's the only choice we have. And as many issues as this team appears to have. Patience will be needed. Poor man want to be rich Rich man want to be king And a king ain't satisfied Till he rules everything- The Boss

  4. SF OFFENSE DOESN'T TAKE ELITE TALENT. We would be rolling up historic numbers now if it wasn't for an inexperienced OL. Once Frost gets the guys he has been recruiting up front up to speed this offense will take off. Wouldn't be surprised if we hit a groove after this bye week.

  11. I wouldn't. Iv said it before and I'll say it again; 9 wins (none of significance) and losing, big, to any team with a heartbeat doesn't mean jack to me. It is the same as winning 4 or 6 if you aren't winning your division, conference or beyond. This year or last year might as well have been a 9 win Pelini season because none of them took us anywhere. I understand not everyone feels the way I do. This isn't to say I'm not happy with Frost. Sure I'll bitch and moan for a few days after a game like Minnesota but as long as we're playing right and improving (over a much longer sample) then I'll be largely satisfied. People flipping out, calling it regression and whatnot after 19 games will never be happy. Callahan, Pelini and Riley spent 16 years totally effing up this program. The least we can do is give Frost 4 years before having unreasonable expectations again. He's my guy until I'm dead or no longer care about the Huskers. If he can't do it, nobody can. It's that simple.

  14. I have two tickets to the Indiana game available. I offered them to the mods earlier this week and didn't get any takers. Here are the details. South End Zone Section 17, Row 37 - same seats my family has owned since the south end zone was built in 1964. Price - free to the first poster that replies to this thread. Tickets to be picked up from me at Smoker's tailgate at the corner of 8th and N on game day.

  16. Of course it was. 2017 was two years ago. And now Minnesota is elevated to the Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa realm. We were blown out by Minnesota in every phase of the game and will be the underdog against Indiana. Why would't this feel lower? If it's because Scott Frost is here and turning the program around.....well that's what makes it feel lower. We finally landed the only man for the job and year two feels like a regression from a historically bad year one. Now we're being told expectations and optimism were unreasonable, although you can find virtually no record of that from Husker fans, pollsters, pundits, and Vegas oddsmakers a mere 8 weeks ago. Things will get better. Maybe as soon as Saturday. No one is on the hotseat. But it's okay to be sad right now.

  17. Ha! No s#!t? So...NOT playing doesn't make you better? This sort of is the opposite of what a lot of fans thought. You don't sit your best guy because you think it will help him get better...you sit your best guy if he is sucking in HOPES that the backup does something awesome...and if he does...you keep him in.

  23. Yep. He could have had Florida, Florida State. Pretty much whatever job he wanted that was open. But he chose Nebraska. It was hard for him to leave UCF because of his relationships and the kids he recruited and coached. Now imagine all those relationships and kids he coached plus it is his alma mater. 25. No way. First of all, Frost didn't come to Nebraska as a stepping stone job. This is home. Secondly, if he has multiple losing seasons at Nebraska, which big name schools or NFL teams would be trying to poach him?

  29. That's not entirely true, the word “addiction” is used to refer to a compulsive, uncontrolled use of a habit-forming substance that is characterized by tolerance and withdrawal symptoms. Further definitions sometimes go into addictive behaviors. Research suggests that cannabis use can lead to: Withdrawal: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.drugalcdep.2010.04.010 ( Budney, A. J., & Hughes, J. R. (2006). The cannabis withdrawal syndrome. Current opinion in psychiatry, 19(3), 233-238.) Tolerance: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0149763418302665 ( Colizzi, M., & Bhattacharyya, S. (2018). Cannabis use and the development of tolerance: A systematic review of human evidence. Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 93, 1-25.) and Addictive behaviors https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4877269/ ( Hughes, J. R., Naud, S., Budney, A. J., Fingar, J. R., & Callas, P. W. (2016). Attempts to stop or reduce daily cannabis use: An intensive natural history study. Psychology of Addictive Behaviors, 30(3), 389.) The research is a little more mixed than with other drugs, but the idea remains the same.

  30. There's no good reason why the Sergeant At Arms hasn't arrested these idiots yet. This stunt is happening because these guys are claiming that the investigation is being done behind closed doors (which, as an investigation, it should), and Republicans are being left out of the process. This is a stupid lie only believed by stupid people. Republicans in the room while testimony is being heard include: Devin Nunes, Ranking Member. 22nd District of California Mike Conaway. 11th District of Texas Michael Turner. 10th District of Ohio Brad Wenstrup. 2nd District of Ohio Chris Stewart. 2nd Dis of Utah Rick Crawford. 1st Dis of Ark When your party is being raked through the mud by damning testimony, apparently you have to resort to stunts like this.

  34. Reality is Frost was a rookie HC at a G5 program. What are the chances he put a whole staff together that can win big in the BIG? Not good. Frost said he doesn't like the practice of telling some assistants they aren't good enough when HC's get a promotion but there is a reason HC's typically just cherry-pick from their current staff then take several guys from elsewhere. There is a reason Florida wasn't supportive of bringing the whole coaching staff over plus promoting a coaching newb. He could most likely hire a better staff at Florida or Nebraska than he could at the time at UCF, especially with the benefit of broadened experience/contacts. As-is we're left hoping a good G5 staff will develop into a good P5 staff.

  35. I can be satisfied because, like a previous poster said, it’s entertainment. I simply cannot watch the NFL anymore besides a playoff game or damn good matchup because the product is just not entertaining. (Timeouts, cost, replays, free agency, millionaires, flags, sit-outs..etc) I care more about Nebraska and willfully engage in all aspects because it entertains me. A bunch of 18-22 yr old players gonna affect my week anymore like when I was 7-30 yrs old?? Hell no. I want us to win so bad and I want the glory to return to the STATE and to it’s people. The stadium will always be there, the colors will always be Scarlett and Cream, the band will always play Hail Varsity; and hopefully we all will always cheer. But I’m done with the negativity and gut wrenching. I will be satisfied when we are just competitive and have a chance to win most of the games. Let the Deed be the Glory, truly. The nuance is just entertaining and removes me from daily grind. Talking to my dad and brothers about the Cornhuskers like we do the weather, taking my son to a game or two. Tailgating and talking smack to my buddies. All the championships and trophies will be icing. I can be satisfied again because I have perspective and believe Frost can bring some icing. In the meantime, I’ll just be entertained. And I’ll add...I’m all in. I never sit down, I yell like hell, I have Husker gear, I say GBR to any hat I see anywhere, I follow these threads and recruiting...I love Nebraska and that’s enough satisfaction for me.

  39. We out recruited UCLA last year and we're on Pace to again this year. The spread offense can and does work in the B1G. NU is not the only team to use it. I don't know enough about the defense, but Wisconsin makes a 3-4 work really well.

  40. I was around when fans wanted to get rid of TO and he almost went to Colorado. I get tired of unrealistic fans. I think he needs a top 20 recruiting class this year & next. I still hold judgement on Austin & Rudd as I see very little improvement on the ol & lb. To answer just question, anything could happen but I doubt it.
