  1. Well Rush didn't take over an established hard-news outlet, owned by a mega-corporation. He sold himself on nearly broke radio stations. I heard that in Europe cars don't have AM radios anymore because they had no Rush. Of course you like it when a pundit from your side mocks the other side, and hear it as OMGisms when it comes the other way. I don't like Bill Maher but I respect Rush for saying BM shouldn't have been cancelled. What i don't like is that the infotainment is not the alternative but the main stream itself. If CNN still had its 1990s cut and dry channel then I would probably watch it. Rush never claimed he was a hard news anchor or wanted to replace them entirely. I suppose that's the downside of transformative forces. Does Jon Stewart like how every comedian is trying to be him now? I have no idea.

  2. See you're wrong again there big guy. I've said nice things about Trump policies when I felt they were positive (as have quite a few others here), but I also call out all the bulls#!t. Can't say the same for you.

  3. We just lost how many transfers the last 4yrs because the kid wanted to be closer to home. The players want to play for a winning team, if the home town team wins they'll stay. That simple, win games keep the in state.

  4. It’s a shame that Democrats have cost everyone so much money in their SS retirement by blocking the private investment option touted by Republicans. Imagine how much more disposable income seniors and soon to be seniors would have.

  5. Regardless of fault, it's Frost's responsibility. The big thing is when "no excuses" is said, it's not true. There are some excuses, and some very valid ones why our record is t better. And it's fine to just compare records, but it doesn't show the progress that's actually being made. With some glaring hiccups along the way. Mike Riley's 2017 team couldn't even force a punt in a drubbing by Ohio State. Even if for most of a half, we looked better this past season. Those losses are different Riley's team couldn't have been any more outclassed than that Saturday evening. Then look at Iowa. Iowa beat Riley coached Nebraska teams 3 times by a combined 80....yes 80....points. Frost has lost to Iowa by 3, 3 and 6 for a combined 12 points. As the poster J-Magic has shown, there are.other metrics that show some progress. We all want the wins to start coming....and I think Frost is getting us closer. We have looked sloppy and inexperienced many games under Frost.....but Mike Riley did a lot of damage to the program that Frost is diligently trying to fix. And it's Frost's responsibility to do so.

  6. We have slightly rebounded, but still close to the bottom. Riley literally took a .700 program to a .333 program by the end of his third season. Quite the accomplishment....

  7. I think this persons outrage is misplaced. The Senate Parliamentarian is not depriving anyone of a raise. I would think the House Democrats could have a standalone bill on minimum wage, pass it, and move it to the Senate. They are just choosing not to. It seems Ro and his colleagues are the ones at fault for not following the proper process and deflecting blame towards an innocent bystander.

  8. The "China Joe" narrative was hand crafted during the election by Republican opposition, pretty much ignoring the precedents of every administration, including Trump's, and capitalizing on anti-China sentiments created by the Kung Flu. It was then spun-off into it's own voter fraud conspiracy theory, in which China mailed millions of pre-filled physical ballots to the United States to be secretly dumped into the system, hoping to elect Joe Biden, a man who will let them get away with anything. The rightwing meme-makers were perfectly capable of pushing this on their own, but if you ever see The Epoch Times as a source, check out the history and agenda of The Epoch Times.

  9. To be honest, I don't think a kid who wants to get out Nebraska will even stay in Nebraska if they're winning. Heck one of those kids' families just lived here, didn't grow up here. It's not like every kid's parents are die-hard husker fans.

  10. Partisan outrage isn't the problem, strings of Presidents fighting imaginary wars is. Justifying them or denouncing them based off of whose in office is one of the most hypocritical thing possible.

I just need to start my own youtube channel and start spewing hate about everyone that isnt like me and I can become rich!

  14. LOL and AD would not have been a 3-4 year starter at any of those schools.. So Frost hit him with the u can probably be a 4 year started like the last Martinez that was here.

  15. Maybe the OP of the post should have cared when it was Trump too. Never heard him say a word. I wasn't a fan of Obama's drone strikes, not a fan of Trump escalating Afghanistan, not a fan of either supporting the war in Yemen. Syria is complicated for all, ISIS needed to be defeated. What's going on there now, I have no idea...

  16. That is not why Riley was hired and we all know it. He was hired to be the polar opposite to this- And this- And all the other coach tantrum BS. Right or wrong, Riley was hired to be a nice guy. He had never proven he could win at a high rate and his last 4 seasons before coming to Nebraska were 3-9, 9-4, 7-6 and 5-7.

  18. And, for the record, I’m fine with raising the minimum wage. I’m just totally against using examples in places like California or Seattle and then force it on everyone else. It should actually go the other direction. Set the national minimum wage at some of the lower cost of living areas and if a state needs to be higher, they can.

  19. This is more about emotional importance, than actual stakes, but Penn St 2020 will probably always stand out in my mind. An ugly win against an ugly opponent in a monstrously ugly year. The momentary distraction from the world that that win provided at the time was definitely needed.

  20. Akron 2018 - the weather won and it was down hill from there Michigan 2018 - so ends the 'They will have to adjust to us" fantasy. Colorado 2019 - when we were way ahead - and we lose in OT Illinois 2020 - how does one lose to Ill and not feel like a bottom dweller? Wins that might feel like a loss: 2018 -Bethune-Cookman (what is that a fancy cookware set?) we beat a hapless team and it seemed like a great coming out party. The next week we just about beat OSU and we think we have finally caught the bullet with our teeth. 2020 Rutgers - This marks the depth we have traveled since Bethume Cookman - we celebrated our win (barely) over a hapless team as though it was the 2nd coming of the great running teams of the 1990s.

  21. Let's move along from the 'whose side' is more guilty of what and focus on the topic itself. As thrilling and captivating as that conversation always is, every thread doesn't need to devolve into a battle of wits about whether or not Republicans or Democrats are more hypocritical than the other. Shocking as it may sound, every political party is hypocritical.

  23. 2017 Minnesota is the only Nebraska game I've ever turned off early. The late Riley period the team was just miserable and I was getting apathetic and had no interest in watching anymore. Brutal stuff. Not sure if 2015 counts or not but that Wisconsin game also made me want to walk into the ocean.

  28. No doubt. I know people who have "gamed" unemployment, and buisness owners who have done the same for PPE loans. I think that's more a reflection of society and what we consider important morally and ethically.

  32. Republicans have wanted to cut SS and Medicare forever. There was no poison pill because there was no official legislation, only negotions that fell apart. If you don't remember the grand bargain then I don't think you really paid attention to politics. It was the debate over the debt ceiling and the threat of automatic cuts from sequestration.

  35. As a long time season ticket holder, I admit that I hesitated before writing the check for the required “donation” this year. The 2021 season is pivotal. No more excuses. Another 4 win season showing “improvement “ won’t fill the seats for 2022. A bowl eligible team showing improvement will, IMO.

  36. THIS: https://theathletic.com/2408790/2021/02/24/nebraska-recruiting-misses-top-prospects/?amp is why Frost needs to swallow his pride and win games with the team he has in the short term and not play with the team he WISHES he had. Over his tenure thus far, I feel like it's fair to say half the losses could and should have been victories. But mismanagement of some fashion...

  37. I had honestly forgotten some of them. I thought my choices were solid and then read some others....We truly suck. And have....Blowout losses, losses to schools decimated by injury, covid, etc....And you have to ask, have we even hit bottom yet. We seem to be in free fall. The D is improving, but the O has gotten worse in each of Frost's years.....2021 be better? Here's to hoping we get it turned around.....And after years of poor play, 6-6 and bowl would seem like we won the NC. And that's pathetic. But it's a step. And I'll take it.

  38. I don’t think it should be based much on productivity. If you have someone doing something manually, then you put a machine in front of them so they can get more done than before, it doesn’t mean they deserve more $. In fact it may make their job easier. Then there’s the fact that machines cost $ too.

  39. From your first link: "While the strike could be the first retaliatory move by the United States following last week's attacks, it appeared to be limited in scope, potentially lowering the risk of escalation." Massive invasion!!!! Lol... From the article I linked that you didn't read: "The US has several hundred personnel in eastern Syria where it works with the Syrian Democratic Forces to continue to stabilize the area and fight ISIS. The SDF control a large swatch of Syria east of the Euphrates. Trump vowed to leave Syria in 2017, 2018 and again in 2019. In 2019 he withdrew forces from new Tel Abyad and enabled a Turkish invasion that caused some 200,000 people to flee." "The conspiracy theory that claims Biden “invaded” Syria or sent a US convoy there on his “first day” is a misreading of events. The US supplies its forces in eastern Syria with trucks often sent from the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. This is a tenuous logistics pipeline for US personnel and Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve. Those who follow these movements call them routine. There is no evidence of an increased US footprint, a change in posture or tempo of operations." We're already in Syria so how is this a Biden invasion? I never agreed with Trump abandoning the Kurds. It's the same thing we did to the Hmong in Laos. The CIA was using the Hmong to fight the NVA. When we left the Hmong high and dry, we allowed for a brutal, little known genocide to come to fruition. If we're going to commit to proxies we need to stay committed until it is safe for them in their homelands. That's our moral obligation. If we're not going to honor that commitment then we shouldn't even insinuate to those willing to fight for us that we have their backs. I know lying is the in thing now but if you think you're ever going to need proxies and then you later bail on them, time and again, to be slaughtered by their adversaries, well...good luck ever having any proxies step up when you need them in the future. For an America first agenda it's shortsighted to burn your proxies because then guess who gets to go in when terrorist cells become a Homeland security threat. That's when invasions happen. I'm good supplying and supporting the Kurds. We need to honor our commitments. To call that an invasion or escalation is naive at best.

  42. Glad for Luke. We all have opinions and views. For me, we lose either way ... because of what we think, the Head Coach had his view/opinion ... and it sounds like quite a lot of the board disagrees with Scott. "There’s no doubt in my mind Luke McCaffrey is the future around here,” said Frost. So, to those are glad we lost Luke ... what is your view of Frost and his "eye" on the QB position?

  43. It still surprises me to this day that Trump never actually stoked a fire hot enough for an actual war to start up. Let's hope Biden can keep that trend rolling.
