The problem with the "don't say gay" movement is they'll use examples like those posted earlier - which are clearly wrong - and use that to stifle all talk about anything related to LGBTQ in K-12 education, and that's also clearly wrong. Extremes like these teachers should be dealt with, we can all agree on that. But these people are not a reason to prosecute teachers at the school system's expense because Timmy wants to tell his kindergarten class about what his two moms do at work. This is a classic example of government overreach.

NIL has thrown all this into disarray. DL is the most coveted position across the board and can make the most dinero transferring. Just like any business, NU is probably dropping big NIL bucks trying to get new guys in and undervaluing in house talent. If I'm a semi talented Dlineman with a chance for a strongish college career, and a small chance at the NFL and you could make an extra 100k by transferring, you would be nuts not to consider it. Think Nathan Bazata or Drew Ott either could have made half a mil during their college career under the current rules, and neither got a chance in the NFL, as far as I know both are scratching by on family farms now. That 500k (or more) would have gone a long way toward buying land, equipment or a nest egg and set them up for life instead of leaving them like the rest of use working stifffs. I can tell you right now, if I thought I could get $100k extra on my salary with a lateral move and had no real strings tying me to me current location. I'm gone.

And you guys are acting like no one will improve and everybody's just going to play exactly like they did last year, when we've seen defensive lineman consistently get better every offseason. Robinson is already starter level. Rogers wouldn't have transferred had he been a starter, which would tell me coaches view either Hutmacher or Fiest as a starter. So then we need to find two depth pieces either through the portal or through younger guys improving. It would have been nice to keep Riley and Rogers but I'm confident guys of their caliber can be found in the portal. Chill out.

Rogers is a smart kid (academic honors) and is graduating with a degree. I think he even had an offer from Vanderbilt out of HS. He's from the East Coast. I totally understand him looking at all options. It sucks for the DL, but he did give 4 years to Lincoln. If he returns to the Huskers great! If he finds a new home, I wish him the best. But I also agree that our DL needs some more bodies from the portal, now more than ever. I don't see enough depth upfront (or rotation) to handle a big ten conference that is heavy on the run game.

I think it's a case of Dems messaging poorly and/or the voters not understanding the actual policy or implications. Instead of "abolish ICE" they could run on "restore CBP" (or something better), which could be functionally the same but would poll better.

Stats and data tell a different story from last years team. They were actually a pretty solid team that found ways to lose. Frost has only coached 4 years with 2 of them being extremely out of the ordinary. What are you talking about? Thurston from Pender, is that you?

I would suggest doing things for which we don't have a good idea of the likely outcomes is bad policy;. Policy should be evidence-based when possible. Naturally a lot of it isn't. I would also suggest using political power to punish political opponents is bad. But as you've said, both sides do it (i.e., Biden using his leverage to help unions). So I guess we should evaluate each offense on the merits and decide who we think does things that benefit us. Getting into a showdown with Mickey Mouse because they said mean words you don't like doesn't inspire great confidence in DeSantis as a leader. The book on him was already that he was petty and vindictive. This doesn't help that image. Gotta say, one of the reasons I just can't ever see myself identifying as Republican is I just don't think I possess the requisite sense of perpetual victimhood. It's really not my bag. Also the American right's steadily increasing embrace of authoritarianism they believe benefits them creeps me out.
