  1. If you could have one routine task done for you all the time, through no effort of your own, what would it be?

I waffle between shaving or anything to do with dishes. Trimming nails has always been a pain to me, but I don't do that every day.

Do whatever you feel like as long as there isn't something that has to be done!  We all need a little free time to just kind of do 'whatever'.  Signed NOT Dr. Phil or Oprah lol.

  5. It's a #TriggeredTuesday: I hate when people in my building get off on the second floor, instead of the first, to go outside through the rear entrance. Most of them do it to smoke. If you get off on the second floor, you have to walk down 10 steps. If you get off on the first floor, you have to walk up 10 steps. Stop being an inconvenience and just get off on the first floor with the rest of us, jerks.

@Enhance you should anonymously post some fictitious health article in the elevator, about how walking up stairs before smoking and down afterwards negates the bad effects of smoking. That might help get them to quit stopping on the 2nd floor.

@Enhance Normally I would agree with the take that you need to do enough to not let one flubbed call cost you the game. However, this particular non-call was worse than that. Just the fact of how blatant and obvious it was coupled with only 1:41 left in the game. It really was a game changer. They've got every right to bitch and moan for a long long time. But no, legal action to overturn it or re-start the game from that point is ridiculous. Sometimes bad calls have terrible consequences. I still have no idea what that ref, who was staring right at it, thought he saw. It's too bad with all the time they waste on replays that they couldn't have reviewed this one and got it right.

    3. Enhance

      Enhance

@JJ Husker And I get that viewpoint but, so long as we allow humans to participate in sports (), we are susceptible to these kinds of mistakes. A lot of people seem to want their cake and eat it on this situation - they want to be able to control this specific issue while largely being OK with other elements in their control/out of their control that they perceive to have not had as big of an impact, even if that's not wholly true.

I mean, people vilify players for dropping passes, missing field goals, throwing picks, getting penalties in key moments, etc. You name it. It's all part of the game and they can all cost you a game. But, a referee screws up and that's worthy of saying the Super Bowl is 'tainted' or we need to replay that part of the game. I just don't get that reaction.

  10. On a scale of 1-10, how irritated and/or pissed should I be that one of the people I share my Netflix account with (brother/sister-in-law, mother/father-in-law) upgraded my Netflix account to the Ultra HD package without asking me? You have to do it from a logged in computer and not the app.

Bear in mind that I've never once asked any of them to help pay for it, but none of them have ever offered, either. It's only a $4/month difference, but to not even ask or gives a heads up?

  11. Our July 4th ended by watching a brawl at a house near my in-law's home with six police cruisers showing up. I imagine we all looked very similar to Wilson from Home Improvement. It was so entertaining... we totally forgot about the rest of the fireworks we had to shoot off.

@huKSer We tried to take some but most of the actual fighting was being done behind a bunch of vehicles and down a small berm about 100 feet away so it was tough to see much on video. We thought it was best to stay back until police showed up, and then (to my total surprise ) everything seemed to calm down when they did.

  12. People really do love to draw attention to a certain sports personality (whose name rhymes with lip clayless) whenever he says something outrageous, but then they wonder why this dude has a job and attracts so much attention.

Even mentioning his name or quoting a tweet to complain about him is what he and ESPN are hoping for. He's a bombastic personality. Want to shut him up? Gotta stop giving him attention. Shows that fail are the ones that don't have eyeballs or interest.

At FOX Sports, we are proud of Dak Prescott for publicly revealing his struggle with depression and mental health,” the network said in a statement. “No matter the cause of the struggles, FOX Sports believes Dak showed tremendous courage which is evident in both his leadership on the Dallas Cowboys and in his character off the field. We do not agree with Skip Bayless’ opinion on Undisputed this morning. We have addressed the significance of this matter with Skip and how his insensitive comments were received by people internally at Fox Sports and our audience.”

      What Fox should've said:

"Look... we know that Skip has trash takes, but y'all keep giving him attention and making us a ton of money, and what he said wasn't reaaaaaally bad enough to force us to have to remove him. So... I mean yeah we feel bad about what he said, and we'll try to make him not be so mean in the future, but otherwise we're just going to carry on."

  13. So, now the ESPN app won't let me stream from my cable package and is asking me to pay that extra $4.99/month. On top of that, they've made what they had available worse in some ways. I can't fault them for making up cord cutting revenue, but this sucks as a consumer.

I just watched their last game and he was getting extra yards after contact and making guys flat out miss and thought to myself that guy definitely deserves to be on an NFL roster.  He looked really good with what he had to work and with his opportunities when given the ball imo.

    2. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

I am not sure how much special teams he played at Nebraska, but it helps a guy like him if he can be on coverage teams.  The last few guys on the roster have to be able to contribute on special teams.

Have had it since January and am pretty happy with it. Wife watches a lot of shows on local cable TV so she doesn't miss those and it covers all the sports channels for me. Helps too that you get some decent movie channels.

I haven't had any issues with streaming quality or anything like that. They've also added MLB Network and NBA TV since I joined among other channels and my price hasn't changed. Also like being able to control it all from my phone.

@Cdog923 Yes. To me, college sports (particularly basketball and football) have so much tradition and allure associated with their stadiums. They're a huge piece of the sport and eliminating those opportunities to play in corporate environments just feels like an insult to the tradition of the game.

  17. This weekend's Austrian Grand Prix was the best F1 race so far this season. Incredibly entertaining. Verstappen's abysmal start combined with a remarkable overtake on Lap 69 was so much fun. And although I've always been a Hamilton fan, it was nice to see a different race winner outside of the Silver Arrows.

  18. Two important Rick Moranis updates:

    1) Apparently, he was sucker punched in NYC? Whoever they are should get a life sentence.

    2) I was creeping on his IMDB page just now and saw that a a movie called "Shrunk" is in pre-production. I would love to see him back on the big screen.
