  3. If this keeps up, we're going to need to replace the game countdown with a ticker that says "_____ amount of days since a football player had a run-in with law enforcement".

  4. Incredible season by Husker volleyball. Foecke is the GOAT, bar none.

Agreed.  This team showed incredible fight.  Definitely proud of the VB team!

  5. Infinity War just got moved up to April 27th.

    1. RedDenver

      RedDenver

Why? Was the original date conflicting with another big movie?

    2. Cdog923

      Cdog923

There's no conflict; I'm assuming they moved it up for a global release; it was already being released the 27th in Europe. This way, they can both market it that way, and help avoid spoilers for Americans for a week.

    3. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

What CDog said. And it sounds as though there will be significant spoilers in Avengers 3: The Avengening (e.g. Kree/Skrull War--characters not who they actually said they were the whole time, characters dying, the location of the Soul Stone (I'm wagering it's on or part of the yellowish planet we've seen in the trailers).

Good move by DisMarvel--not sure why they even bothered with different release dates in the past, unless it's a logistics thing.

      Did it affect the playcalling?

There was really only one drive that I felt like it mattered, and that was really the only sustained drive Colorado had the entire game. Was at the game walking around and there was really only one time I, out of shape and overweight, lost my breath (walked up the steep hill from the Creek Trail just north of the stadium to the south end to meet up with some tailgaters). Walking around outside of that felt like around Omaha. Do they get benefits from training in Boulder? Sure, but I don't think it had as much effect as somewhere like Wyoming, which is another 2000 feet higher.

If anything, the defense blew their emotional wad in the first half and couldn't keep it up through the end of the game. (Though they were still solid outside of a few breakdowns).

    4. krc1995

      krc1995

I've been watching it but only made it through the first three episodes so far. I'm enjoying it. I really like Stellan Skarsgard and Jared Harris. I'll have to check out the podcast - thanks for the tip @ZRod.

I told my dad he should check it out. He worked at OPPD's Fort Calhoun plant for 35 years and he was a physicist, so he completely nerds out over this kind of stuff.

    3. ZRod

      ZRod

@Enhance I felt the same way as your dad probably will. I had to reread the wiki for the disaster, learn more about RBK and light water reactors, and read a little on 3 Mile Island. Then I questioned my career choice of why I'm not in a cooler field.

  11. Jason Kirk leaving Vox now, too. The SBNation guys could start their own website and probably be the best CFB news site out there.

    1. Saunders

      Saunders

Yeah, it's sad to see. SBNation was a daily visit from me for a long time. But once Bill Connelly left, it went downhill. Their "relaunch" as the Banner Society was a huge dud for me, because it was basically a website version of Shutdown Fullcast, which is just awful.

    2. BigRedBuster

      BigRedBuster

I never knew there was a link between Vox and SBNation.

    3. Xmas32

      Xmas32

Haha @Saunders the Shutdown Fullcast is definitely an acquired taste.  It's like pro wrestling mixed with....madness and college football.  PAPN with Bill C and Godfrey was the best CFB podcast by miles (although Bear and Stanford Steve are pretty good if you're into gambling) and I'm frankly a little pissed that Connelly doesn't have a dedicated podcast.  The new PAPN is still pretty good but once you've had the best, anything else is a downgrade.

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked to see The Ringer snatch up the SBNation team.  The Ringer is pretty light when it comes to CFB and they seem to be willing to let people run loose a little bit.  The Ringer just signed the Cespedes Family BBQ guys (who are hilarious) so they're willing to acquire talent for sure.

Oh totally...but the thing is in some markets the basketball players are basically freak show gods and a lot of the seasons are short so they can come back to the US and run some camps and get paid here too.

    3. Cdog923

Good players can earn up to $100,000 a year in Europe. D-league contracts usually hover around the $20,000 range. College players earn ???

I wouldn't fault them for leaving, is what I'm trying to say.

My son's basketball coach this past season played in Europe for around 10 years.  I guess he was a decent player at CSU, and then make a good living bouncing around Europe.  Now, he's in his mid 30s, back in the U.S. and is a realtor.

@Husker in WI Nope, Dabo even said if he wanted to be a jerk, he could’ve played him this week and ruined his chance to redshirt this year/transfer out and play next year.

    3. Husker in WI

      Husker in WI

Fair enough, I respect that. It kinda sucks to bail on your team when you get beat out, and a lot of coaches would want to keep an experienced backup - even a disgruntled one.

He’s doing what’s best for him, Dabo is doing what’s best for Clemson. It’s no more than that...

Unless Vedral gets a release from UCF *and* wins NCAA approval, he's not going to count against our limit until next year, right? Or what am I missing here...?

    3. Cdog923

      Cdog923

I believe @VectorVictor is correct; he'll be a walk-on this year, and will count against the limit next year.

    4. ScottyIce

      ScottyIce

UCF won't release him to us. So therefore they can hold onto the scholarship for as long as they want (would be dumb because then they only get 84).... Unless I'm missing something.

Now all we need to do is teach people the difference between a mask and a chinstrap.  There were more people wearing masks hiking Mt Bierstadt than at the Lincoln Wal-mart.  I don't buy 'muh oxygen levels' as an excuse.

@JJ Husker gotcha, I thought you were commenting that it was weird he hadn't heard it because he should have by now, but you were more commenting that it was weird to have not heard it (as in poor him). Subtle difference :P

I actually never really got into 70s music. I probably haven't heard the entire song more than a couple times. I was more into 60s stuff and was obsessed with The Beatles.
