Verduczo will only be responsible for one position on the team and not the entire defense like Diaco did. He also explains "the how" much more than Diaco did. He also has a thesis on the QB mechanics, whereas Diaco falsely claimed a master's degree while at Eastern Michigan. Outside of being Italian decent, both seem to be completely different. Besides Frost doesn't strike me as the type to employ a fluff at the team's most important position.

I hear you on the potential for next season. Miles has had enough seasons to build depth with HIS kind of players. Now to declare how the season turns out and what that means for his future is tough. The big ten could be conceived as good or bad this year - we don't know in may. The team could go injury free and if so the facts would lead you do think that if TM is going to get NU there then now is the time. If he has 4 guys get injured then it would be tough to determine what's next.

Here is a big problem with how this whole thing is playing out. It is not abnormal for negotiations to be on and off with threats to cancel from both sides. But, normally this is done behind the scenes. Now, since we have the twitter and chief, the whole world is on pins and needles while he strokes his ego. Trump tries to make everyone worship every move he makes like it’s the biggliest move in history.

Voted A&M because I was there and the end was amazing. Although in reality we played terrible most of that game and I realized how far we had sank at that point as a team. I guess I went to Michigan and that one was pretty awesome too(i wish we played some games in Texas still). With all the injuries we had that year, finishing the season off strong gave me hope we were on our way back.

Although many people agree with Trump's positions on immigration, this betrays what an ugly, awful game he plays demonizing immigrants. Thought experiment: Replace Hispanic/potential crimes in this excerpt with Jews/ways they screw people out of money or Blacks/how lazy they are. Is that acceptable discourse? Considering the numbers I posted on chances to make the NFL by star rating - not the same thing but along the same lines - I'd say it's pretty standard. "Only" about 50% of five-stars make the NFL. "Only" about 25% of four-stars make the NFL. There are a lot of "busts" to go around. Just on a quick look, Callahan had two four-stars in the 2004 class - Grixby and Murtha. Both were contributors but neither were exactly game-changers. The 2005 class - where Callahan gets most of the love from, and not entirely undeserved - definitely had some studs. Suh and Lucky were studs; Dillard, Potter and Bowman were really good; but Beck, Picou and Brooks (the other four-stars) were busts. Plus several of the high-three-stars in that class were busts. The 2006 class was pretty mixed as well with Thenarse, Purify and Nicks being solid contributors but Andre Jones and Kenny Wilson not as much. Basically the same in 2007 with Paul, Zac Lee and Asante having nice careers but Jaivorio Burkes, Armando Murillo and William Yancy being forgettable. Riley had much the same story - though they are obviously not final grades yet. In the 2016 class, POB is already gone, Dismuke and Jackson have been on the field but not been great and Raridon and Farniok working to get in the rotation. The 2017 class say Elijah Blades never make it to campus and KJJ barely better than that. Lindsey should be a stud and McQuitty will probably be good as well but Roberts and Gebbia are going to have to hurry to avoid getting lost in the shuffle. So I don't think there would be much of a difference between our last three coaches. And likely not a huge difference between us and most other Power 5 schools.

I think with the pace of our practices, and the offense he will be practicing against Mon-Thurs, he will naturally lose 10lbs. Duval will get him down to about 315.

Well... as I was saying. Its the end of May and he hasn’t visited nor has he confirmed he is coming for FNL. Add in that we have offered a bunch of new QB’s and maybe it’s okay to start thinking that it’s not happening here anymore.

The '06 A&M game felt bigger at the time, but it's gotta be the Colorado game. We were favored to lose that game pretty confidently, and we came out and absolutely boatraced them at a time when we were desperate for some progress and optimism. Dominant on offense and defense, and the 'Restore the Order' motif was very, very cool and dramatic at the time.

The Michigan bowl game was probably the first game I voluntarily watched since the South Bend takeover game. I wasn't much into football until that point. That game and that amazing USC/Texas game really started drawing me in. I still remember freaking during the laterals that we were gonna be the laughingstock of the bowl season if Michigan somehow scored, luckily they didn't. I wanted to say the KSU beatdown of 2007, but that was after getting boatraced by Kansas and Cally was toast by the KSU game anyways.

Exactly. I'm cautiously optimistic about a Blue Wave in 2018 that shifts one or both Houses of Congress, somewhat because I support more liberal policies but would settle for even more balanced centrist ideas than the crap they're slowly churning out now. But moreso because the corruption and grifting for personal gain and abuse of power and blind fealty to the worst man (and human being, frankly) in politics in my lifetime HAVE to end. The sooner the better. My plea to everyone is if you have even a hint of evidence your Rep is an enabler of Trump or is willing to put their party above the wellbeing of our Democracy, vote them out, and encourage those close to you to do so as well.

Man. We've come a long ways HB. Last year was a real struggle. But if that's what it took to get us where we are today, I can live with it. I'm so excited for the Frost era. I'm so excited for this season to get going. I hope to not get suspended or banned this year.

This is an old school Husker style QB, extreme speed, run first QB who played in a run heavy offense and has since transferred to a triple option offense school.

Well, California has a very large economy, so debt numbers will always seem high without context. So California and Nebraska have about the same debt burden when you account for the size of their economies. And if you want to compare per capita, California has 39.8 million people for $10953.73 debt per person; while Nebraska has 1.9 million people for $9947.37 debt per person. Or about $1000 more person for California, which doesn't seem like a whole lot.

Every time I see a picture of Coach Verduzco, he reminds of a mad scientist who somehow left the chemistry lab. He looks like he'd be right at home amongst bunson burners and vials of acids and bases all around him. I picture him standing over a cauldron with a bubbling concoction of unknown substances; he's wearing a lab coat, Dr. Hugo Strange glasses, and thick, heavy rubber gloves on his hands as he stares manically into the cauldron, willing his unholy creation to come to life.

To be fair, if Bob Diaco said this stuff it wouldn't be shocking. It's ok if Mario is the new Football Guy. Every staff needs one.
