  1. Wild how this program finds new ways to be embarrassing. Absolute buffoonery in these quotes.

  2. At least with Tommy, he'd launch his YOLO bombs and try a make a huge play. I never thought I'd say this, but after watching Luke, I'd kill for some YOLO bombs! Chuck it up and see if Betts or one of NU's mountains of TEs can make a play.

  3. Maybe they could bond over beating Iowa for once, that’d be neat.

  4. Not trying to make a big deal out of nothing but hearing them talk about growing mustaches after getting their asses handed to them Saturday is asinine.

  5. Please; Tommy was hardly the clusterf#&% of a QB that we have at the moment.

  6. This is the only thread on here that really matters tonight. Thank god this young man is ok!

  7. So what exactly does kade warner do? He doesn't produce on the field and as a team captain watched the receivers half a$$ it in practice all week and didn't doing anything about it. Unbelievable.

  8. Does the below sound familiar in our current situation?? I think so. This is the problem of electing a person with deep emotional issues. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/spycatcher/202007/when-the-narcissist-fails

  9. Hope he means Luke is the future at another position. Being brutally honest... If I were Smothers, Haarberg, Fidone or any other receivers recruited.. I would look at that portal real hard or commit elsewhere.

  10. I get the frustration. And I'm not saying it is unwarranted. But there is literally nothing coaches can say in this situation that will make people happy. If they talk about what actually happened, people will complain that they should fix it if they know what the problem is. If they just speak in generalities people complain that all they're getting is "coach speak." He literally said it's not an excuse. Just said what the problem is. I don't know what else he is supposed to say.

  12. So reading the stuff from players and coaches are starting to sound like, Blah, Blah, Blah.... Translates to me as we are clueless and no one is leading. That and moustashes. There is no reason to think this team can win a game until sometime in 2021. And maybe then not until Nov. 13th. So freaking sad. We suck, we are Kansas Football

  13. If a coach can't instill his culture in a full year LET ALONE HIS THIRD, he needs to reevaluate his philosophies, how he practices said philosophies, and how he instills said philosophy.

  14. HUSKER FANS TWO WEEKS AGO: "We absolutely have to start this freshman who wasn't offered by any P5 schools as a quarterback." HUSKER FANS THIS WEEK: "Why can't we throw the ball???? Fire Verduzco!!"

  15. Do the players have to talk to the press? I get they are trying to get ready for the next level but if I'm a player I'm not talking to the press right after a loss. Should be only after a win.

  16. Bring back the good old days of Nebraska hazing where if you didn’t practice hard you’d get your a$$ kicked.

  17. Why the hell haven't the receivers been going 100% in practice?! And why haven't the coaches been on their a$$es about it and fixed this sooner?! We're a dumba$$ football team that's for sure! Mustaches......gimme a break!

  18. Somehow they found the worst possible way to “respond” to the Illinois game. Imagine Iowa was 1-3, and was on a 5 game losing skid to NU, and they said “We’re growing mustaches.” I don’t think I could be more ashamed of these guys.

  19. You mean to tell me the team with a lack of discipline in practice turns the ball over & commits way too many penalties? I’m shocked. Our practices should be so brutal that they are praying for the game come Saturday. I don’t mind doing a “fast Friday” as a reward for hard effort the rest of the week and some recovery.

  20. the republican complicity in this fiasco convinces me that i was right when i dropped the R next to my name. and that it was a mistake to keep it as long as i did.

  21. I mean, we are running the ball better than all of those teams except Wisconsin. Michigan is currently #102 in the country in rushing. Michigan State is currently #124 (out of 127). Just throwing random statements out and acting like they have some basis in reality isn't doing a lot for credibility.

  22. Saturday was deeply disappointing for everyone, and I think raises some concerning questions. But before we get out the pitch forks too much, I'd just like to point out our SP+ ratings over the last five years and this year: 2015: 33 2016: 38 2017: 62 2018: 48 2019: 55 2020 (before Saturday): 36 We're making progress and this team has shown improvement. We played three good teams to open the year and laid a stinker against a bad team while starting five freshmen on offense and turning the ball over seven times (if you count the fake punt and 3rd-and-25 hands-to-the-face penalties as turnovers). Sometimes that happens. It was disappointing and it sucks, but it doesn't mean we have to throw the whole thing out or that this experiment is cooked. We all agreed early in Frost's tenure that he needed a lot of time and latitude to fix this but we believed he could; progress isn't linear and the definition of faith is trusting something is happening, even when you can't necessarily see the results. I, personally, am just glad we got to play this year and am going to chill out and see where this goes.

  23. Weird how NDJ barely posts here anymore, but this guy is suddenly in every thread, every day.

  24. I understand the sentiment but in reality most of Husker Nation felt Luke should get the start against Illinois. I thought Luke should get the chance again. That experiment should be done... roll Adrian back out there against Iowa and get Luke on the field in other positions often.

  25. Why did you post an image instead of linking the article? Gosh, that's strange. Well, here's the original article (emphasis mine): https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/hogan-south-korea-coronavirus-tests/2020/07/16/c0e69ec8-c765-11ea-a99f-3bbdffb1af38_story.html But the bigger question is really: why were individual states having to find and procure covid tests instead of the federal government doing that and distributing them to the regions most in need?

  27. Several times this season.....No RB has gotten into any rhythm...If "X" back is healthy feed him the ball for an entire quarter. Win, lose or draw. As mentioned earlier when Wan'dale and the QB are getting 2/3 of the carries that's a problem.

  28. Seeing good athletes leave our program and have success elsewhere doesn't usually weigh much on my mind. Different circumstances, different coaching. So much goes into it. That said, Nebraska's been a quarterback graveyard recently. Those guys have so far made much better decisions for themselves and that's tough to see as a Nebraska fan. Not that I don't want them to have success... I absolutely do. It's just tough to see that they couldn't do it here for whatever reason.

  29. Really? Two WRs in the same spot on the field isn't an indication of a major screwup by one of them? I guess it could be a new fangled passing scheme where it confuses the defense as to why they would want to be next to each other. How about a WR running into the QB and RB at a mesh point on a hand off?

  30. What I see is, we don't recruit QB's. We recruit running backs that can throw the ball. Not pass the ball. I watch Division two QB's that hit receivers on the numbers on crossing routes, lead them on deep routes. I see our QB's throwing passes that the receiver has to stop and turn around and wait in the route. Or so under thrown. This is not development, this is failure to recruit true QB talent. Still say it and have for many years, this is not just a coaching problem, it is a talent problem caused by poor recruiting, or evaluation. I am beginning to think that this is going to continue from now on. We are just not a destination team for the talent in the country. We need to possibly lower our sites and evaluate the kids that end up at division 2 and make it into the pros. It happens. We do not develop pro level QB's and haven't for many years. Go back to basics, and if it is running the ball with monsters on the line, and it works, so be it. This is not working and it does not seem to be changing much.

  31. There is plenty of under performance to go around, that’s for sure. Open receivers are being missed or not seen, other times WRs are not getting open and I haven’t been impressed with play calling or offensive decisions either. So much is not working it makes it difficult to know where to start. But it is apparent that nobody has to respect our passing game and we have absolutely no threat beyond ten yards from the LOS. I’ll start with blaming the coaches because they’re ultimately responsible for such an anemic throwing game but there’s plenty to go around for both QBs and WRs too. And while I’m in a mood, have we ever once gained any yards on those quick outs or bubble screens? We complete a lot of them but the WR gets buried by 4 guys in a nano second. I want to blame perimeter blocking but it’s always just so ridiculously useless I want to blame the coaches for ever calling it. But they just keep doing it. It’s like they have a quota of plays to waste a down. I don’t get it.

  32. U kidding me? We just gonna ignore the vast difference in passing yards per game and the fact that a 22 TD/16 INT ratio is significantly better than our world beating 2 TDs and 6 INTS? TA wasnt an all pro QB by any means, but you're delusional if you think the stat lines this year is comparable to anything armstrong put up

  34. If we're going to compare Frost to Riley, let's wait another 23 years and see where they stack up. Hopefully, Frost's 13-0 year is more indicative of what he's capable of.

  35. Well sure, there is plenty of blame to be had by the coaches too but we can all be pretty darned sure the coaches aren’t encouraging the kind of play and effort these players have been consistently exhibiting. So yeah, the players can shoulder the blame. The coaches don’t block, tackle, run routes or throw s#!tty passes....

  36. The mustaches don't bother me. Lots of guys do facial hair/haircuts as a bonding thing, it's not like they're taking time off of practice to groom them. Is it in my opinion a dumb way to come together as group? Sure. But what are the supposed to do, shave their heads and put on sackcloth and ashes? Give them a break, it takes no time or effort away from their football activities and I am all for anything teammates can bond over.

  40. I also like how it is a revolving door and almost none of them are in these conversations at the same time. It's almost like a "conservative" voice must always be here to make sure a certain groups voice can be seen in all corners of the internet. Wouldn't want this space filled by generally unchecked thoughtful comments that could leave a certain group looking pretty sour.
