  6. And you know this how? Seriously? I mean what I said. People are looking for a reason to be outraged, much like yourself apparently. The okay hand sign, the hand sign game to punch your buddy in the arm, that's now racist because some bigot pieces of s#!t did it. People like you getting pissy over it is what lends credence to what would otherwise be no big deal. Does thst meaan drinking water and breathing air are now racist ad well? How about every boxer, fighter or wrestler that ever raised their arm up after a victory. Are they all racist because the black panthers did it? How about chewing tobacco, I know a lot of prejudiced rednecks who chew tobaccy, is that too racist now? Get off your high horse, Merry Christmas.

  24. LMAO great comeback, kid. (That's from Scott Pilgrim, which is a Canadian comic, not anime.) By the way, you still haven't explained WTF was going through that little brain of yours when you said that. By almost any measure, Spielman was easily our top receiver this year. He had about twice as many receiving yards as anyone else on the roster. He had as many receiving touchdowns and almost as many receiving yards as the next three guys (Wan'Dale, Stoll, and Noa) combined. And he's probably going to graduate as Nebraska's all-time leading receiver. Now what, pray tell, makes you think that "Frost clearly favors his guys and jd isnt going to be a focal point of the offense as we saw from this year"?!

  30. Your first sentence was unnecessary. The bold is an interesting sentence. In what way do you find Jurgens a freakish athlete? As a tight end or linebacker, there is an argument he is well equipped. But he made a switch to a position group that is often considerably larger and his good physique wasn't necessary the brute strength at the new position. We had several options at center. You have several freshman options, true, but they are guys that played that position for years. While it looks great having a center blast off every play, it is also not great to have a center that gets knocked out of the way by the upper quarter of talent in the B1G. Jurgens had two pretty good games when (1) there was not a nose over him every play; and (2) most of his blocks were double-teams. He doesn't win many matchups when the nose is over him. And he isn't winning or stalemating his target the majority of the time when it is one-on-one blocks. A typical true freshman center will likely end up with the same results no matter how talented he is going to be. But Jurgens was not a true freshman. And throwing a novice in at that position limited our line calls. Those issues combined to really hurt the first three-quarters of the season. At least a half dozen guys were able to play center. We lived with the lumps and it cost us games. And eventually he'll get it. But it sure would have been nice to ease into these dramatic changes when the team could have used a bowl game. As for chicken and egg comment. Frost has a vision. He has stuck to fewer options rather than testing waters with other guys. We heard the whispers that the QBs were not ready so we really need to stick with Martinez. Yet those 0-2 backups still managed to score when using fewer options than available to Martinez. One even came into the last game and threw a quick strike TD on one play and someone here tried to claim it was a trick play. Yet the starter ran the same play and did not find the open guy over and over. Either Frost is trying to implement a system or he's trying to play specific players. If he needs the system, then stick to guys that run it long enough to get those specific players up to speed. Sputtering with specific players that just aren't clicking isn't some moral victory. Get the chicken or the egg first. then begin the cycle that successfully repeats,

  33. Feels like trolling. But I'll respond just once. You have to zoom out. There were two freshmen to play at that spot. It was going to be growing pains no matter which guy we went with. So we went with the semi-freakish athlete with raw physical/athletic abilities. There were growing pains - but there were going to be whether we played him or Farniok. It's not like we were going to win the West in 2019 with the injuries we had down the stretch (in addition to losing Washington). So, I'm glad we got Cam in there. I think it's obvious his ceiling is pretty high at the position.

  34. Isn't blinking doing something?
    1 point
  35. You do realize that 'fast blinkers' theory is more or less about small organisms and has little to do with fast performance? We just plain need a smarter breed of football at Nebraska. The reason Devaney was so good was he put it on the staff to think and left it on the players to react. He held people accountable by replacing underperformers. But when it gets down to the nitty gritty, he minimized thinking out of most of the players. The coaches and a few select leaders do all the thinking in a system like he ran. You don't need to be a fast blinker, you need to be a fast do-er.

  36. Here's a good rule of thumb. There's an overwhelming percentage chance it's not racist unless you already know that the person doing it is a white supremacist. I've seen Richard Spencer do it before; okay yes that time it was racist. The Proud Boys flashing it? Yeah, racist. But even then, they're only doing it because they know people will freak out over it. Otherwise, the idea of it being racist is a trap meant to ensnare well-meaning people such as yourself by hacking the tools we use to communicate with each other. Falling for the trick is the naivety; being on guard for people trying to program the way you're thinking is not.

  37. Just got back from seeing TRoS. Much better than TLJ. Of course that isn’t saying much. I won’t delve into things like y’all but will provide my ranking of the SW movies. New Hope (sue me, I’m a traditionalist and gotta go with the one that started it all) Empire Strikes Back Phantom Menace (sue me again but it’s one of my favorites. I don’t get all the hate....except for Jar Jar Binks) Return of the Jedi (t4) Rogue One (t4) The Force Awakens (t4) Rise of Skywalker (could be higher but it felt rushed and like they tried to cram too much in) Solo (liked it but didn’t seem necessary for the overall story) Revenge of the Sith (only redeeming quality was completing the Darth Vader saga) The Last Jedi (not a good movie) Attack of the Clones. (More like attack of the worst character and movie ever)

  41. More from the CT article above. This I think is the defining quote of the article. He defines the 'rock and the hard place' that some evangelicals & conservatives in general find themselves in. Trump has done some things that we support however as the article states it is not in balance with the immoral character he exhibits. As Christians, our first obligation is not towards a certain political position on the subjects important to us (abortion being just one) but rather to the Lord of our faith. When our anxiety about an issue causes us to transfer our trust from God to a man, and esp a man of Trump's character, we have denied our faith in that case, and fail to acknowledge our God's sovereignty in all things - if one man fails, God can raise up another man or woman to do His work of being 'Justice Bearers" (whether they proclaim to be Christian or not). Our obligation as believers is to be discerning. In this case, I believe that Trump is not worthy of this high calling. I am not obligate to support him just because he has supported the side of an issue that I stand for. Fidelity to moral uprightness must come before loyalty to any man. So really there is no rock and hard place if one is clear thinking about their loyalties. Matt 6 states we cannot serve two masters. If we are clear minded, we will be faithful to God's word and leave political dogma loyalty in its dust. This is so vitally important - I guess I said something similar above. Joshua 24:15 seems appropriate with this quote below: 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood(TG: Maybe we have generations of GOP support in our family), or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell (TG: the trump version of conservatism perhaps) : but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  43. Because it's obvious to anyone watching. Look I'm not gonna debate about why they were doing it but you cannot in good conscious argue they were playing the circle game with each other. Its pretty easy to spot the difference between that and what they were actually doing. If you can't I'm not sure what to do for you.

  44. X2 It's the circle game. You can now be hit in the nuts. And should get double for thinking it's white power.
