  1. Immature....like a coach calling us f#&%ing fairweather fans that can kiss his a$$ out the door? That kind of immature? Or the kind that holds a secret off campus gathering of players to bad mouth and undermine the program? Look, way too many words have been wasted on Bo Pelini, and no he wasn't as bad as Callahan or Riley but there is no denying he would not learn or change and felt he did all he needed to even in the face of mounting new records of futility. So he won 9 games every year, big deal. He didn't win anything that mattered and that will always be what matters at Nebraska. So if some fans want to enjoy a bit of schadenfreude, I think they deserve it and he earned it.

  6. When a former Husker is setting records and the rest of college football is talking about it, it would seem odd not to discuss it on HuskerBorad, right? Also, he was a prick.

  7. The Huskers aren't playing and people are surprised that some of the discussion has turned to teams that are?

  8. Bo is a narcissist and refuses to ever change or do a self inventory. He was once a great defensive coach. The game has changed and he hasn't, bottom line.

  9. A healthy Martinez would have helped last year. JD was hung out to dry on routes way too many times. He suffered some huge hits and it is very discouraging, enough to transfer? I have no idea about that. Maybe he felt it best to leave than cause any issues on the team giving his real reasons. Hope he does well the remainder of the season and stays healthy!

  17. If the Defense were to be 100 yards and 14 points per game better than 2019, it would be a top 10 defense in the country. That type of improvement is unrealistic. You need to think about what is realistic before spouting off Improvement demands.

  18. So I guess the top 60 colleges that have gone back to school in person have = 78,000 positive cases. Good news, only 13 hospitalizations and zero deaths.

  19. from before the 2016 election https://www.npr.org/2016/11/03/500560120/senate-republicans-could-block-potential-clinton-supreme-court-nominees Now some Republicans are suggesting the wait for Scalia's replacement could last much longer, perhaps an entire presidential term, or two. Three Republican senators have said directly that they would consider leaving Scalia's seat empty as long as Clinton is in office. As for Cruz, he suggested there is nothing sacrosanct about having nine justices. For support, he pointed to a statement made by Justice Stephen Breyer during an interview in which Breyer noted that the court has historically functioned with as few as five or six justices.

  20. Same song, new season. Seeing is believing. Gotta have 200 plus yards on 35-40 carries. Another 250 passing. 41 pts vis 5 TDs and couple fgs per game. Defense needs to be 100 yards and 14 pts better. Good special teams & coverage. Thats a 75% win pct type team.

  32. I actually enjoy the fact I can come here and sift through the rumor talk. I have found that we have many posters, Big Ern would be one of these, that has interesting opinion's and good husker info. He never stated that this is for sure, its just what he is hearing. I don't know why anyone would care about having the discussion.

  36. Not sure this really belongs here but ... I like the Blacklist but I always kind of thought a lot of the storylines were pretty .... out there. But after seeing some of the testimony in the Bailey Boswell trial, perhaps that's not really the case. Good grief.

  37. You don't get out to the boonies very often, do ya? I would say in Northeast Nebraska, masks are worn by about 40% of the population.

  38. My wife is a nurse in Omaha and her mother is one in Lincoln. They shared numbers released by metro area hospitals. Apparently the Metro area hospitals are at 93% meaning only 25 ICU beds are currently available in the city of Omaha, and St. Elizabeth in Lincoln is mandating overtime for the rest of the year because of staffing shortages. Flu season doesn't kick into "high" gear for another 60-90 days... A lot of rural Nebraska with no mask mandates might want to rethink things as they already make up a decent portion of the occupants and really don't have any place to go besides Lincoln and Omaha. Not to mention, OPS is on the verge of opening things back up. I teach. Two months ago I didn't think we'd get past Labor Day. Then things actually started to look okay and I felt we might make it through with strict mask and quarantining due to tracing; masks are still on, but quarantining has been strictly reduced. Now the feeling is Thanksgiving break might as well be our "end of the year" send off. Part of me also feels that even though we have officials saying we need to practices mitigation methods, the powers that be are actually okay with the "herd immunity" strategy. We closed schools in March because of a couple cases of community spread and the concern of strain on healthcare. Now, the strain is real and there is far more than 2 cases of community spread. Pretty interesting to watch it play out.
