Before Frost, we had O'Leary who everyone knew was going to retire at UCF. Even though his philosophies on college football made no sense in Central Florida, just knowing that he was going to be there and knowing that he had success elsewhere spurred us to success that we never had seen and was rare among our peers. I'm glad that Nebraska is getting Frost. Not only does the program deserve it, but he was never going to stay at UCF long-term. I'm glad that he found a place where he will stay so early in his career and I'm confident that the long-term commitment and previous success will be just as good for y'all as it was for us. So congrats. Treat him well... *sniff... he was good to us.

Pfft. Frost isn't leaving UCF. He said that it would be tough to leave UCF. I heard on the UCF board that he bought a burial plot on the field so that if he died while coaching at UCF, his funeral wouldn't interrupt a game. Edit: I'm not delusional! You're delusional!

Frost has informed his staff he is leaving but hasn't told the players. Wants them focusing on winning tomorrow. Doesn't seem to have decided when to tell them. Might not want to announce it right after the game to take away from what they've done (especially if they win). I would guess he'll tell them Sunday morning then the announcement from NU comes Sunday afternoon. Tough decision for Frost because he likes what he's been able to accomplish there but ultimately the chance to rebuild Nebraska won out.

You know what guys? Tomorrow/Sunday is truly the new beginning we have waited for since Osborne. We can put this year behind us. We can put the last 20 years behind us and hell, we can even put the 90s behind us (appreciate it, but don't cling on to it). Something special is starting for us soon. So Tennessee fired their coach mid season and their AD after they started looking? It seems Nebraska's method of firing the AD midseason and then looking for a coach at the end of the year may have been a better strategy. The dumpster fire in Tennessee spread to Neyland Stadium. People need to stop being upset by what UCF fans are saying ffs. One idiot just said a nasty racist remark to a UCF player’s mom that’s blowing up on twitter. Who cares what they say about living in Lincoln. It’s small time to get offended and fire shots back. Just remind them that we are cheering on UCF this next game and hope that Frost does for us what he did for them.

So, will the actual announcement be anti-climactic? Or will it be euphoria? We've been pretty sure for some time, but I think the "sucker punched too many times" syndrome as set in, and while we've been a bit complacent this last week, I, for one, will be over the moon excited when it is announced for real!!!

Facilities aside, we are still the only team in the country that can fill a 90,000 seat stadium with people to watch a 4-7 team. I noticed some of the top ten teams in the country couldn't fill their stadiums at times this year. One I think was even playing a decently ranked team. The last Miami home game looked worse then our spring game. We may be the only team in the country that can bring a recruit to visit any home game and the pregame experience will feel the same whether we're playing Arkansas State or Ohio State. If the team gets better, that experience will only get better. If you like playing for a packed house, you'll have it here, week in, week out.

The Oregon game last year was the last game I truly felt happy with the program, and that feels like a decade ago.

Word is Gebbia has been leading some workouts with players. He indicates he's very happy and Nebraska and thinks he's athletic enough to play in any system.
