  1. Has already met all NCAA eligibility requirements. Kearney Catholic isn't currently set up to let students graduate early but they are working on him to make the necessary changes for him to be an early enrollee.

  2. Not that far away.... We aren't going to keep up getting a commit every 10 days.

  5. It may not be a good look, but it's hard for a young man not to respond publicly when people are trashing your work ethic, skill, and loyalty publicly. Even then I think these guys have been pretty diplomatic.

  8. The problem with masks is when you put one on to make a quick trip to the convenience store and remember when you get into the car you haven’t brushed your teeth yet and you get a whiff of your own breath.

  9. 247 shows Fisher and Chins as the recruiters - I'm not sure where they get that info, but I'd assume DB if it's the case.

  10. There is a difference in "no excuse" and valid excuse....I think we are still a year or two away from really seeing what NU has (2021/2022). Starting a brand new DL, no JD, seems like only Wan'dale returns with more than one catch, ILB, another new coordinator etc.....Throw in a murderers row our last 5 games (not like the first 7 have a gimme) and there are A TON of valid reasons we might struggle next year. Athleticism, culture, not his guys etc shouldn't even been mentioned. The vast majority of guys getting snaps should be guys recruited for the system or are in year3 with Frost and Co. To the former players speaking out, I can't imagine them agreeing that they performed poorly, were in their natural position etc....No one wants to admit they failed to meet expectations...Maybe the staff overlooked them. Bottom line, that had to be a lot of drama and he said/she said BS in the locker room. Not good for the team, the staff or the individual players impacted....

  14. This is an estimate of what he could make if they start allowing athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness in college. So, totally hypothetical.

  15. I don't get the concern about the D-Line recruiting. It's not a priority this year because right now they have 12 on scholarship and only 1 Sr, which means they will be sitting on 11 scholies at the DL spot for next year. 11 is your target number for D-line. Now I don't mind them recruiting 1 DL guy if they can get a difference maker but 12 is the most you want to have. It might also be smart to get 1 this cycle because the JR class has 6 DL in it and that's a lot to recruit in one cycle. Trouble is we are already overallocated at LB and overstocking at 1 position leaves a shortage at another so that's why you want to remain in the 10-12 range at DL if you can help it and not get too crazy. It's clear they are trying to fix the LB spot and that's why they loaded up. I think some existing players are on notice. I think another position that they will hit hard is DB's. I think we are down to 13 there and we have 3 sr's so we need to get 5 to hit the target number of 15. Getting 4 would be acceptable if you want to try and get your numbers spread out over time.

  17. With eight [8] teams in the B1G ahead of us in four * ranked players ... I'd love to see this ... call it "necessary thinking"! Two [2] isn't nearly on pace. At present, we have Northwestern, Iowa, Minny, Iowa and Wisky all ahead of us ... just on our side of the conference. OSU, Mich and Penn State are way out in front.

  18. Completely dodged a question about specifically what he has learned and why he wasn't aware after mentioning learning and being more aware multiple times, lol. Again I hate Iowa, but he looks super out of touch. Says he didn't apologize and "thinks players know how he feels," which is presumably unapologetic.

  21. Every single fanbase also speculates on whether the coaching staff handled things as well as they could have. It is what it is. The only legit concern is how the larger college football world looks at Husker culture at the moment, given that recruits, staff, scouts, and media make decisions that affect the team moving forward. I think everyone is waiting for and rooting for the Scott Frost era to take hold, but the evidence just isn't there yet. Winning cures everything.

  22. Here is a recent article from the Tulsa World on the Tulsa Race Massacre. It details what happened 99 years ago last week. https://www.tulsaworld.com/tulsa-race-massacre-this-is-what-happened-in-tulsa-in-1921/collection_3763032b-1ecb-5203-b256-2ba1c370f6af.html?utm_source=pocket-newtab#9

  26. Things I never learned about in school: • Tulsa Massacre • Jim Crow • Redlining • The U.S. shipping Jews back to axis-europe • Churchill's pretty disgusting racism • Christopher Columbus slaughtering indigenous people • The G.I. Bill, Homesteaders Act, etc. But my 3rd grade teacher did talk about attending a "fascinating" Ku Klux Klan rally in NC in the 90's

  29. Attitude (rumored) won't be missed. Athleticism absolutely will be missed. As you said, leading returning receiver. One good a game away from being the leading NU receiver. We missed Stan and Oz A LOT. And Farmer and Foster. Ironically, guys who played under Riley....

  30. It's an equally bad look for our fan base to be making comments without knowing what's going on in the background. It's unreasonable to expect kids to not respond to shade on social media, and it's equally unreasonable to expect fans to not throw shade. Kids are going to be kids, and fans are going to be fans. Not much anyone can do about that.

  36. Except for Lewis those are all true OLBs, and while I hope I'm wrong I'm pretty sure Lewis ain't coming. I don't know that he ends up with Tennessee, but unless we set the world on fire I just don't see it. I admittedly pretty much just get my info from this board, but look at pages 2-4 on Paul's thread. Lots of people excited, and seems like the staff really prioritized him. I didn't hear anything negative until it was mentioned he could look for a better offer, and then the star rating came up. If he isn't part of our class, feels like that will have been his call and not ours. People just don't like 3* and 6'1, but he probably ends up a 4* and for good players you can bend your ideal dimensions a bit.
