  4. Per NYTimes numbers June 1 - July 4. New cases 900,000. deaths 29,000. = 3%. Estimated unidentified infections another 9,000,000 at just the 10X multiplier = death rate of .3%. over entire population (all age groups). Estimated total deaths in U.S. to july 1 for those under 45 yrs old = 2900. Most with other illnesses already (not athletes or coaching staff types generally). I didnt easily find a breakdown of cases #s count by age groups but it seems reasonable to say that the younger and healthier the better. Point is - college sports participants have almost NO meaningful risk of death due to exposure to Covid 19. Very little risk of serious illness either. Most who get it will hardly have symptoms to deal with. Limit contacts of participants with high risk groups (older sickly, etc) and play football. Test and isolate if you must but no reason to not go forward otherwise except fear of something not very dangerous.

  8. Am I seeing it right that the only other teams not on this list are Maryland and Rutgers who are awful and didn't join until 2014? That really speaks to our awful talent level the last decade.

  12. No. There will not be a football season this year. I honestly think it's foolish to believe it will happen at this point. This country shows no signs of slowing down the disease, there is no way to keep the players isolated from the outside world, the rosters and potentially infectious people you'd have are massive, some (many? most?) universities are going to close their campuses and refuse to let their student athletes participate, many schools will find it financially unwise to host games without fans, the logistics are magnitudes more complicated than the doomed professional sports reboots, and just so many other reasons that complicate matters. All of this less than 2 months from kickoff. This country isn't about to take precautions seriously, so it's clear we are going to be in this situation at least through the end of 2020.

  13. I'm a teacher. The "f bomb" isn't a regular fixture in staff meetings, but it's been dropped more than once. No one ever complained. If it can happen during an inservice under certain circumstances, it sure is hell should be accepted in a Target parking lot or wherever they were. edit: I also worked in electrical wholesale for several years. The "f" word was probably more common than "the".

  14. Thank you. No one understood the efficacy of a cloth mask in preventing the spread from a sock person. All mask related guidance was about protecting the wearer, which still holds true today. No one had any idea about asymptomatic carriers back in Jan/Feb. Mocking the CDC and WHO over that would be like mocking doctors from the 1800s for not using penicillin. We wear masks to protect others if we’re sick. That’s why it’s important to practice social distancing and stay at home as much as possible. Most people act like they’re in a hazmat suit when wearing these masks, and do things that bring their effectiveness to near 0.

  15. In no way, shape, or form, do I think the Clintons have the same level of control over the workings of the USA as Putin does Russia. That is insane! If a person truly believes that, they are crazy. So crazy, that I would nod along with them while they talked because I'd be terrified of what they might do! But Putin does show that someone that actually does have that "power" can do many things to shape an election. The fact that Hillary Clinton lost is proof that she and her deep state friends aren't nearly as scary and powerful as some crazy people claim them to be. Edit: But maybe Trump is...

  21. It sucks yeah. Lavonte David was better than any of those LBs but as the article said, only one year in the B1G. It's been mentioned before but I don't think we've had another first team all conference defensive player since then and for sure not another All American.

  23. I went ahead and looked up this "The Democrats" Twitter account. When was this Tweet even posted? I can't find it. And your post is just an image, no link. I'd hate to think you got your panties in a bunch over "fake news"... Who am I kidding? It's not even news. It's a Twitter feed. We really need to stop giving random people so much authority.

  26. You do understand this is a process, correct? Because this is a new disease, we are actually still in the learning phase of it. As we learn more about it, opinions and methodology change. It's the same reason why the people who are trying to troll Fauci for his opinions in January and February are incredibly cringe. Masks were not at the forefront of the discussion at the beginning because 1. we didn't know exactly how the virus was being transmitted, and 2. they were deemed essential for healthcare workers and those caring for sick individuals. 4 months later, we know more about the transmission and that one of the best ways of preventing it is by wearing masks. That's why the majority of the discussion has centered around wearing masks in public to help flatten the curve, or did you just start paying attention?

  27. Don't go out unless you really have to. Wear a mask and wash your hands. Stop peacefully protesting for a few months. Stop Legion ball Stop summer conditioning Stop going to the beach unless you are wearing one of those old timey diver suits and masks that look like a fish bowl. Don't have those lame "social distance" gathers where you sit outside and pretend like you are 6 feet away and not spreading germs. Don't shake hands but also don't do that lame elbow touch thing, not because of the spread, just because it is stupid. Don't form an autonomous country unless it is actually in another country. Don't go to church, you will be fine.

  28. I think everyone also notices that cutthroat competitive industries and the Hard Right Industrialists of a different century would sell your mother down the river for a modest quarterly gain, and that's why we don't trust their choice in politicians. It's a pretty good fight us doves are fighting.

  30. you would think a mid 20th century dry-toned media would be able to damage Trump plenty simply by reporting the times he's boorish. But this media isn't capable. They aren't reporting news as much as preaching what they want to be news. There is no real difference between the main stream media and the Left wing. One simply does PR for the other.

  31. So here's an interesting one just down the road from me... https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/couple-who-pulled-guns-black-mother-daughters-charged-felony-assault-n1232874 The video NBC chose to post is the short version, which doesn't show anything that led up to the gun being pulled; including the fact that the black lady threatened to "beat your white a$$" because somebody didn't apologize for bumping into them. That isn't mentioned in the article either. Does someone preventing you from leaving in your car justify drawing a gun? I tend to doubt it, but they were harassed, not allowed to leave and threatened with violence. Pretty much everyone here is an a$$h@!e including NBC. Here's the full version of the video

  32. Trump apologists claim the media is lined up against him. The media hates him. They never portray him in a positive light. That's all true, but it's not like they're mis-reporting him. Trump went out there and earned his reputation as a thin-skinned con man who's now way out of his skillset as President. Ignore the lamestream media completely and take Donald Trump in context in his televised speeches, nonstop tweets and his own autobiography. We've never had a less-filtered President, and he's never not been an a$$h@!e.

  33. It continues to amaze me what people think the Clintons are capable of. You’d think if they were that capable, even if it’s murdering people, that people would give them more respect for being geniuses.

  36. It's a parody site. The banner on the bottom reads "This web site is made possible by a generous gift from one of Jeff Fortenberry's constituents and is maintained by Sniff Fartenberry Productions, which is really a name we just made up for Seeing Red Nebraska, and we obviously have no connection to this useless Gilead commander's re-election campaign, which we try to stay upwind from at all times." Seeing Red Nebraska's site says "nebraska politics from the left"
