  1. This is what I've never understood. When I talk with certain friends or family, they insist that I'm being brainwashed by the MSM and I'm hearing his words out of context. They can't defend him when I respond with the fact that I don't have cable and don't watch the talking head shows; the sources I use to form my opinions of Trump come directly from his Twitter feed and his speeches/interviews. I've actually shared transcripts with them only to have them claim its "fake" or "doctored". Then i follow with the video... Sometimes I wonder if they've ever taken the time to actually listen to him talk/type. Or if they are the ones forming opinions from "talking heads" that translate Trumps drivel into words they want to hear. I try to explain both perspectives when talking about political issues with my kids. They seem to always have a lot of questions regarding government (they are 10, going on 11). I try explain the pros and cons of conservative and liberal arguments and let them decided. But I don't hide the fact Trump is a clown and they should not feel bad calling him an idiot in front of teachers or friends. Because he is.

  2. Did you notice that every day there's a new devastating ad showing how horrible Trump is, and almost all of them are just clips of him talking?

  3. Both probably would have played this fall. Newsome more on ST but had been catching the coaches eyes. I think Nixon would have contributed a good amount. His versatility would’ve put him ahead of Fleming and Brown easily and honestly believe he’d be the biggest new WR contributor not named Manning

  8. Newsome a bigger blow on ST than CB as is. Need to get Nadab Joseph. Nixon another blow for in the WR room. Need to keep Wan’Dale at WR only/gadget plays in space out the backfield to lessen the beating on him. It’s hard to see us fielding a good WR core with the limited depth that we have.

  9. Moderate deal, imo. I thought Nixon had a chance to give us some go. Newsome was going to provide solid depth as #3/#4 CB and ST.

  10. I won't mind wearing one on the sideline...it will be easy to talk to my coaches and say things like "Seriously, is that idiot really the best kid we have at DE...He f#&%ing sucks...wow...that one is his mom? Good lord"

  11. Um, what elicited this question? I would not be surprised at all if it turned out Clinton was a rapist/child molestor. I can think that without believing in the dumbass conspiracy theories about the Clintons. His potentially being a child molester doesn’t mean he has the power to have Epstein murdered under Trump’s DOJ or various other murders there are conspiracy theories about where either he or Hillary had someone murdered. Honestly it’s crazy to think that a bunch of police/security would do his bidding. Most don’t like Democrats or Clinton. It’s amazing how many conspiracies there are about Hillary especially.

  15. You could say that they are taking him out of context. But they're not. When you put Trump in context --- who he talking to, what just happened that morning, his history of similar or totally contradictory comments -- Trump actually looks worse. Again, the Dems totally botched the Impeachment. Give some video editors an afternoon to compile and arrange Trump clips and you'd have a locktight case that the man is uniquely unqualified to be President.

  19. Hey Mav, great list! I just wanted to point out that Dasan McCullough is in fact a 2022 recruit from the Kansas area. I would also add Malik Williams to the CB room. However, everything is fluid, so next list he might be on it whereas in a month it could change one way or the other.

  23. No. There will not be a football season this year. I honestly think it's foolish to believe it will happen at this point. This country shows no signs of slowing down the disease, there is no way to keep the players isolated from the outside world, the rosters and potentially infectious people you'd have are massive, some (many? most?) universities are going to close their campuses and refuse to let their student athletes participate, many schools will find it financially unwise to host games without fans, the logistics are magnitudes more complicated than the doomed professional sports reboots, and just so many other reasons that complicate matters. All of this less than 2 months from kickoff. This country isn't about to take precautions seriously, so it's clear we are going to be in this situation at least through the end of 2020.

  24. Thank you. No one understood the efficacy of a cloth mask in preventing the spread from a sock person. All mask related guidance was about protecting the wearer, which still holds true today. No one had any idea about asymptomatic carriers back in Jan/Feb. Mocking the CDC and WHO over that would be like mocking doctors from the 1800s for not using penicillin. We wear masks to protect others if we’re sick. That’s why it’s important to practice social distancing and stay at home as much as possible. Most people act like they’re in a hazmat suit when wearing these masks, and do things that bring their effectiveness to near 0.

  26. At this rate Trump supporters would tell you the Titanic was treated very unfairly by the iceberg.

  27. That's true, but they won't be traveling to several states, having hundreds from other states traveling to them, being confined into small airplane cabins, spending time in hotels and so forth, which are all big factors in increased spreading.

  30. I used to have a job where I purchased ad space on cable TV back in 2015-17. The sales rep gave me a profile of all the stations that we could insert ads on (some of the more niche networks weren't options). They had the median age of the viewership at like 71 years old for Fox News. I don't think there was any other channel that had a median age that was even in the 60s, and most channels were in the 40s. Fox News was in the exclusive top tier of 4-5 networks along with ESPN, and no other news channel was. The ratings were among the highest on cable but it's because the right wing of this country trusts literally no other TV network to report anything.

  31. I wonder how the NOMASKS4EVR!!! people explain the drop off of positive cases in Europe? Somehow they've restarted sports (in empty stadiums) and it is not because they've reached herd immunity. I know American college sports are not the same as European/American pro sports, due to educational considerations, etc. It will be much harder to "bubble-wrap" college football players in the same way as EPL, La Liga, MLS, NBA, etc. are doing/planning to do. However, having people mask diligently for the next 2 months will at least give an opportunity to force a downward curve in positive cases. If we keep going at 50K or more positive cases per day over July/August/September, we will probably not have any college sports for the rest of 2020 and possibly even spring 2021.

  32. A couple of things.... I really hate wearing masks after about 5 minutes. I hate them, BUT, I always wear them when I am in stores, restaurants etc..... I work at a school. We will have to wear a mask 100% of the time when in school. The students will all have plexiglas guards that are portable and they will carry from class to class. They will not have to wear masks in class. We will have 100% of the kids in our school daily. It will be hard, but it is what will have to do. I tell the adults to suck it up. The key will be to find a mask that is comfortable. I am right of center when it comes to things. I believe you should wear a mask. It is hard for me to understand why people fight it. I have many questions about all of the other stuff, but not masks. If you don't want to wear a mask, then stay home. Our Governor is speaking right now. I suspect we will all have to wear masks after today in our state. It is OK. It sucks, but so does many things we have to do in life. Suck it up and let's get through it!

  33. It's inconvenient. It's against my civil rights. It's what limp wristed commies do. Yesterday, our governor here in Oregon made it mandatory to wear masks indoors in public places. A state trooper walked into a coffee shop without a mask. He was told put one on and his reply was, "F--- Kate Brown (our governor)" It's against the law to force people to wear a mask." This came from a state cop. Of course it's not against the law per our state's supreme court, but that's the attitude many have. In this case, one who should know better.

  34. This is an excellent way to sum it up. You're not gonna have the luxury of knowing the outcome to make your decisions right now, you have to educate yourself and act early or you can't retire! Except in this case you may end up with lung damage or someone you care about dying. Isn't it worth it to try to make things better? What is the harm in trying? Some people will argue simply to argue because they think everything someone else says is wrong even if they may get hurt by that decision. I see some folks get about an inch deep in a subject and make a decision based on previous bias and absolutely refuse to put any more thought into it. It's mind boggling and sad.

  35. Flattening the curve by wearing masks (plus social distancing) is the best method that we know of to get life back to some semblance of normal; this includes having football and all of the pomp and circumstance that comes with it.

  36. This is an excellent point. I blame 24/7 cable news. That is too many hours of airtime to fill, and genuine investigative reporting is expensive. Then Fox News figured out that the news could just be a never-ending Reality Television series, with heroes and villains but not so much actual journalism. That made them a lot of money, so MSNBC and CNN followed the formula. Every story starts with an agenda. In some cases there are straight up facts, backed by compelling research, but a lot of folks don't like that, either.

  38. here it comes again another emotion, the closer we get to the 2018 Nebraska Season starting. My Dad will be watching from the heavens as his beloved Cornhuskers play football. Was listening on Youtube, and finding this stuff brought tears to my eyes. This music plays, But it's not the 2018 team, it's the former players walking out the tunnel, as the audio and highlights play of the Cornhuskers. The players walk out and form the rows the current players run around as the run onto Memorial Stadium. Cut to Tom Osborne, Orange Bowl Locker Room, 1998 the final speech, "Keep it going"... Then A shot of Coach Scott Frost and the words "20 Years In The Making" Fade to black and the well known music starts... Ladies and Gentlemen, Your 2018 Nebraska Cornhuskers. And the Current Tunnel Walk Plays. I have goosebumps thinking of my Dad yelling loudly during games, instilling in us what it means to be a Cornhusker Fan. This is in his honor. I just wanted to take the opportunity to share it, know this, there are Former players and fans that are going to be willing Nebraska to victories this year and beyond. That will is going to be in the heart of every player, as they have already become, bigger, stronger and faster. Go Big Red.
