People are so dramatic after losses lol. Illinois, Syracuse, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas State, and Baylor were all teams that were dumpster fires at one point and came back. We have better resources than all of those schools besides maybe Tennessee. There is absolutely no reason a good coach cant take us right back to competing and it could be fast with the transfer portal.9 points

For the first time since the Frost/Chinander firings, was disappointed with the coaching, specifically Whipple. It was clear Purdy was no where near prepared for the combination of our O-line and the Illinois D. While he looked bad passing, he even made Thomson look like Lamar Jackson with how slow he moves. Yet, Smothers could barely get a sniff. And with the "only" a 2 score deficit, Whipple seemingly called played to simply get the offense off the field. Would've liked to have seen Mickey take more command here.7 points

I am ready for some assistant coaches who weren't former NU players. Fans are too reluctant to criticize former players, especially if they were studs at NU. Ruud also was supposed to be the lead recruiter in Omaha the past few years and NU has had a poor record of keeping those kids in-state.6 points

Learned that Mickey will not be HC and that our team cares about getting to a bowl game as much as I care about Ohio state or Michigan winning a game.5 points

1. The defense actually played decent given the offense turned the ball over 4 times 2. Mark Whipple is not a great at situational play calling 3. Joseph needs to find the right #2 QB. Purdy was not the answer today and Smothers was not given much of a chance. 4. The team is still making the same mistakes now that they were when Frost was head coach.5 points

Unless Nebraska somehow finishes the season 3-1, Joseph will not be the next Nebraska coach in my opinion. I am not as concerned that they lost the game today as I am how sloppy the team played and looked. Joseph has been in charge of the team for 5 weeks now and we are still seeing the same mistakes.5 points

That we have not really developed any player at any position. We were pushed around on both sides. Our S&C is very poor. Bielema in year 2 has Illinois clicking on all cylinders. With players who average recruit ranking is 59. Anthony Grant, for the first time, disappointed. Didn't plant the foot and get upfield. Ruud might go down as the worst assistant coach with Dawson. We might be Nebraska, but will be interesting if any current HC's will come here. Unsure how many of our starters would start at another B1G school.5 points

I learned that Illinois is overrated Purdy would probably be the worst QB in FCS Whip has the ability to be clueless at times Purdy can't make a 2 yd pass Palmer will probably leave Purdy makes stupid plays Our D held its own Alante Brown would probably be better than Purdy Oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention... Purdy SUCKS5 points

For us to get a glimmer of the success we have had in the past is to return to that past. Recruit the pieces for the option. RB's will come here for it, lots of action for them. Big earth movers from NEB and parts elsewhere and a bunch of speedy under sized LBs and DBs. We beat them before with regularity because they did not have the assignment discipline or strength to change their mind frame as we pounded them. To do that we need to hire coaches where one of their major positives is they can recruit. Don't have to have the 5*s but a sprinkling of 4*s among the 3* we normally get put together in the Nebraska way is our road to relevance. I really think its the only way.5 points

Yeah, this one needs to die a horrible death. Mickey is a WR coach.5 points

I don't see any thing dual threat in Purdy other than his ability to help both teams at the same time5 points

urban and lane are the most obvious choices. if trev pays someone else then he has a big ego and wants full control of the program.5 points

Still don't understand why people respond with the when anyone says that MJ isn't HC material.5 points

Do people really expect Mickey Joseph to fix this team in four games after five years of Scott Frost's f#&%ups? There is no coach on the planet that would have fixed this team in four games.5 points

Eddie O is living off the coast of Florida with a 20-something blonde bombshell. He’s in his 60s, and I wonder if he would want to come back to coaching. He got a lot of cash to walk away from LSU, and if he’s ever hurting for cash, he can come back to Louisiana and do some speaking engagements. Those Cajuns are the only one who can understand a word he says anyway.5 points

I think some people are acting like Mickey not getting the full time head coaching job is the same as him getting fired from the head coaching job. He’s the “temporary” head coach, by the definition of his title. Now, I credit Mickey for taking on the responsibilities of a full time head coach, but he would have had to win a number of games to make a compelling argument for Trev to remove the Interim tag. That’s not happening so far, and probably not likely to happen in NU’s last 4 games.4 points

I’m not saying Mickey is the guy. Not at all. But what did you guys think he could really do with the pile of s#!t he got stuck with? No OL. No DL. No options to backup Thompson. A team that tackles like dogs#!t. A team that is slower than molasses….and weak. Really there was no chance at all for Mickey to prove himself. Nick effin Saban could’ve been the interim coach and he wouldn’t have gotten any different results.4 points

Holy s#!t. There are still people lobbying for Mickey Joseph to be our next head coach? Is this real life? We might need to change the signs to read “dumbest fans”4 points

Just because MJ wouldn't have got the opportunity if Frost was fired last season to be HC, doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good HC. Frost, Riley, Callahan all had HC cred but weren't nearly as successful as Bo no with HC experience. Let's not mention TO also didn't have HC creds before he got the nod. The man is doing well with what he has, and the situation he was brought into.4 points

Mickey is still my guy. He can be a good head coach even here just can’t do it with what crap frost left him4 points

I'm so sick of this patty cake west coast offense crap. We need to get back to power football. The 20 years experiment is over. Look what original Husker power football is doing to us now. It's pathetic4 points

There isn't much difference. I think we have at least one more win under Joseph than we would have under Frost, but that amounts to little. It's the bizarre criticisms against Mickey that slay me. He's doing fine considering our talent level, level of training, and his time on the job.4 points

Yes, you have proven how difficult it is for you. I will now use examples to help you along. You get urban Meyer (the best option) you can't get anyone better. So he's the best you could get. You get Mike Riley because everyone else said no, He's the best you could get. So in conclusion, no matter who is hired it was the best you could get.4 points
