I saw an offer tweet that referred to us as Huskers instead of Huskies, #Progress.

  4. Lamar Jackson might be our only draft pick next year.

If jd leaves early, I can see it. I don’t think darion has had a productive enough career to this point to be drafted. Jaimes will be a 4 year guy. Mo Barry has to make a decent sized jump to get drafted. Now if Nebraska is in Indy, this might all change. Being relevant helps a ton.

    4. chamrocck

      chamrocck

Mo Barry is getting drafted.  As the heart of our defense if he doesn’t get drafted that will mean we had another bad year.  Don’t see that happening.

  5. I am so proud of Devine Ozigbo. What could've been had this staff been here his whole career. I hope he kicks a$$ in the NFL.

@B.B. Hemingway Appreciate the perspective. I don't think we're really that far off opinion-wise - it's really the difference of how we perceive his early years because we probably both agree what he did his senior season, and his transformation, was outstanding. Much of the scouting analysis on him in recent weeks is sort of along this same vein i.e. there wasn't much too write home about prior to what happened in 2018. Again, a lot of factors played into that, but that's why I bring it up.

    3. B.B. Hemingway

      B.B. Hemingway

d@Enhance Are you of the opinion that he could stick in the NFL? Though I always liked his potential at Nebraska, I'll admit that I never entertained the idea of him being a productive NFL back. I'll be real interested to see what he does at the next level, and I think he's got a chance. As you said, prior to his senior season, I don't think any of us could have imagined that.

    4. Enhance

      Enhance

I think he has as good a chance as any. The scouts seem to like most of what he brings to the table. The biggest knocks I've seen are his explosion after cuts and lateral quickness in pass pro. Otherwise, he seems to be drawing a lot of praise. He probably wouldn't fit across all 32 teams (a lot of NFL running back prospects don't) so it'll probably come down to the opportunity.

@Husker Richard, he plays in the largest the class in Virginia, so the competition should be very good.

  8. This program will suffer until the defeatist psyche is completely removed. It has never been about talent or buy in. That psyche permeates into everything and serves as a membrane. Once it is removed, everything else starts to function normally. It is truly up to the players if they want to right this ship.

    1. 4skers89

      4skers89

I agree but do you think the current players can right the ship?  I'm convinced the players that have been in the program for the past 3 years are beyond fixing.

@4skers89 I agree with you. I think the ones who are Juniors and Seniors, are ruined. Aside from a select few.

  10. For future reference. Look out for Xplosive Edge to become a huge advantage for our local recruits, scholarship or walk-on. You might start seeing 10-20 guys per year working out there to be ready as soon as they step on campus.

      Quote

Henderson told Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Expert Josh Helmholdt that, "We still have all due respect for Minnesota and the coaching staff. The recruits there are still like my brothers, but this was something we both decided would be best for me and them going forward. They will definitely still be an option for me. They’re just trying to see how this senior year goes grade-wise.”

  12. I have spent a lot of time watching tape of the 2018 recruiting class, and they have become my favorite class in a long time. I think the ceiling is very high for this class. There is a lot of NFL talent and the "developmental players" could be ready a year after. The Juco players all look like impact players and guys who will contribute immensely. Watch out for those DE's and Watt will not redshirt. Woodyard, Jones, and Washington will change that offense come June. Cam Taylor will come in and compete right away and possibly be a two way player who makes a name on Special Teams as well. The talent infusion this summer will be awesome to watch.

Normally write off the first recruiting class in a coaching change year.  Not this year.  Frosty pulled in a top notch class with almost no time left on the clock.  #RecruitingCoup!

The NCAA isn't squeaky clean. Hell if I was a player I'd take some cash and fast cars too.

      TonyStalloni

Cash and fast cars get swept under the rug.  It's the fast women that the NCAA frowns on.  Ask Louisville.

Lots of reading comprehension fails in this status. I never said I don't think it happens. Hell I think the story is likely true. All I'm saying is people shouldn't be passing on these stories unless they can actually prove it and, if they can, then they should be passing it on to the proper authorities and not just nonchalantly damaging the reputation of a player, coach or school based on less than credible information.

  14. Nebraska getting some run on the Laker's telecast. Side note: Tom Dienhart got roasted on twitter. The BIG is starting to rub me the wrong way.

I just don't see every new recruit playing right away, and the ones who do will still be learning, along with the rest of the team.  So they'll likely be thinking too much to go full speed.

Valid point @knapplc. Hopefully it means they are pressuring those who can do something about it.

I find it hard to believe that the University doesn't have some code of conduct provision they can enforce. It very well may not prevent him from acting on campus even if he is expelled but at least they would've done everything in their power to try to prevent a tragedy.

  20. I will never understand the lack of respect Ozigbo gets. He has plenty of ability to be successful and could get 1,300 easily if he has a competent Oline. He was also a bright spot on the roster last year.

@Pedro Guerrero Sorry man, but stats don’t tell half the story here. Wisconsin pumps out 2,000 yard rushers every year. Their running backs aren’t special. Good but not special. There is plenty of evidence to support that. Ozigbo played very well in a limited roll. He could have really good numbers behind a really good line

What a player does in the NFL has nothing to do with whether or not they were/are a special player in College.  That is something I figured every Nebraska fan knew.

0 freshman in the history of College football had more yards rushing in a single season than Jonathan Taylor.

  21. It comes with a heavy heart to announce that my nephew Preston Justin Hebenstreit passed away on December 6, 2017. He was barely a week old and attributed a rare blood clotting condition he could not overcome. Your prayers meant a lot to me during his time in the hospital. My family, especially my sister and husband need community. I know how compassionate Nebraska fans are and how we put the quality of life above everything else. If you would like to reach out, I am providing our social media handles as we have announced his passing publicly just a few moments ago. My sister's instagram is valyn_chanel and my instagram is vince_mike. Thank you guys.
