You don't waste your only in-home visit for the week - especially when there are only two weeks - by sending one guy to visit the #1 recruit on your board at probably the #1 position of need if that coach isn't doing a very good job recruiting that guy.13 points

ding ding ding ding ding. The only reason so many online fans are saying crazy stuff like, "I hope to never see him on the field in a Husker uniform again he's shown us who he is" and just being totally done with the kid aren't because he's actually bad but because he didn't fulfill their expectations. Kinda the same way that if you are expected to go 4-8 and then you go undefeated, it's a lot of fun, but if you're expected to win the natty but only go 8-4, that season is a depressing s#!tshow. Adrian's still the best QB we've had since Taylor for sure, and probably a good argument since Ganz. And even if he's not quite as good, he's still close to as good but minus the penchant for 3 INT games or throwing balls in the dirt ten yards in front of a receiver a few times a game like Taylor, and minus YOLO ball tendencies like Tommy, and minus being a personal pick six machine like Tanner. I know his decision making wasn't all that great this year but people somehow seem to forget the decision making we've had at quarterback for the last years Give the kid a chance to bounce back.6 points

JD Spielman is about to become the most prolific receiver in Nebraska history because every quarterback in his three years here found him open and dependable. There were games when JD was the only thing working, and he succeeded with the entire defense keying on him. He took massive hits, got hung out to dry on a few of them, but always kept coming. I'm not sure about the definition of "buying in", but I'd appreciate if we didn't assume his disloyalty to Frost or Martinez, or push him out the door to save him from a dumpster fire, because I'm almost certain he will return along with every other disappointed player and give it everything he's got, like he always has.6 points

I think many admire.coaches that deliver results at multiple schools. Sorry if that reality check is hard to accept...5 points

Easy excuse for a coach to get away with not blaming him or his staff for inherently idiotic game plans, lack of coaching, terrible clock management, terrible timeout management, not telling your team that running out of bounds is the dumbest thing you could ever do, not taking a player out who is clearly being a barrier to you succeeding. The team didn't buy in enough to go find a kicker either, I mean if they bought it they would have made those kicks.5 points

Frost always gets involved with the guys at the top of the board but the position coaches are also recruiting their guys. Dewitt was in-home on Sunday.5 points

Tuioti at his high school today. In-home tonight. Frost and Fisher expected in-home next week.5 points

A whole 1.5 yards? Wow. I retract my statement. We should have thrown more. Sorry, I think we have different definitions of "working". And I'm not sure why you keep bringing up this year. I was specifically talking about the Iowa game. This is an Iowa game thread.5 points

It's less that and more it's not gonna happen this year so I don't know why you keep bringing it up as if it is the make or break point for this program.5 points

Not sure why this post got two laughing responses. It's exactly right. We need to become a physically dominating team. We need to be a team that holds up against teams like OSU, Wisconsin and Iowa. Not sure how someone could disagree with this.5 points

To think a kid does not go to a school because of their position coach is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If they didn’t like them or respect them they would go somewhere else.4 points

How about you don't be a jerk and attack his intelligence. The kid is smart and very well spoken. He's 19 years old for crying out loud. There's a reason everyone knows what a Sophomore slump is. He put up similar numbers as Taylor and Tommy did their 2nd year with an arguably worse team surrounding him, and he did it with 3 fewer games played. Passing Taylor 13 games: 162/288 (56.3%) 2089 yds 13 TDs 8 INTs Rating: 126.5 Tommy 13 games: 184/345 (53.3%) 2695 yds 22 TDs 12 INTs Rating. 133.0 Adrian 10 games: 149/251 (59.3%) 1956 yds 10 TDs 9 INTs Rating 130.8 Rushing Taylor: 188 att 874 yds (4.6 yd avg) 9 TDs Tommy: 145 att 705 yds (4.6 yd avg} 6 TDs Adrian: 144 att 646 yds (4.4 yd avg) 7 TDs4 points

JD has every right to do whatever he wants. He’s one of the biggest reasons we have any wins at all. If you can’t respect that I don’t have anything to say to you. His performance on the field was giving it all he had and that’s all I care about. Including going up for adrians suicide balls across the middle repeatedly with no Fear. You see bigger guys get scared and drop that all the time. Not JD. Too much of a fighter that one is.3 points

Did you read the Mueller report??? Because it's pretty... Not good for Trump. It's also highly redacted. Trump's defense Secretary, Personal Lawyer, Campaign Manager, and various other people including Roger Stone have been convicted of various crimes related to the investigation with more trials ongoing. It's also alarmingly clear that Mueller was unable to thoroughly conduct his investigation because of obstruction by team Trump. Jr and Kushner were not charged with conspiracy, only because of how ticky tacky it is to prove monetary gain about receiving campaign info illegally. Mueller also played by the rules and did not charge the sitting president, but left it to Barr who is equally as corrupt as Trump at this point, and Barr flat out lied to the public about the conclusions of the report. Wake up!!!3 points

Iowa was a rare example of the defense making adjustments and playing better in the second half. But the Husker offense adjusted, too. They both came out with plans and motivation in the third quarter. Enough to give us hope. In the end, as with other close losses, the offense had the chance to put it away and the defense had the chance to put it away, but they didn't. If we have to argue who was worse, the Nebraska offense or the Nebraska defense, then the terrorists will have won.3 points

Agreed. +1. As far as the relationship of the quarterback's performance to the fan base's perception of the final win/loss outcome of any given season, we have to go back and remember how much better Bo was as far as: 1. Offensive line play (both pass blocking and run blocking). 2. Quality running back starters and running back room depth. Frost is going to get there (and probably fairly soon) in both of those categories. Imagine plugging in Rex or Ameer and some of those offensive lines into this year...we for sure win 7 and probably win 8. We would have blown out Purdue, probably wouldn't have lost to Iowa, and probably score 40 + against Colorado. I really believe that. The power running game is very likely to be a staple here again as soon as next season and it will change things for the better. **Edit: Hopefully this isn't taken as a "Bo is/was better than Frost post." Not the point at all.3 points

The thing that stands out to me about that list of players is a lot of those names saw significant playing time. I see 1 maybe 2 that I think we might see in the NFL as lower round draft picks/free agent pickups. That's a telling sign to me about what SF inherited.3 points

All well and good. Except for the part about the swing passes. They've been a problem all year, as noted by pretty much everybody. Frost uses them on first and second downs to replace between the tackle runs, but they end up being higher risk than reward, especially as Martinez has increasingly thrown behind the RBs, and opposing DCs know this part of Frost's repertoire and almost always have plenty of guys waiting. Swing passes do help open the running lanes later on, even if they're not always successful, but it's not working as the bread & butter play.3 points

Enlighten us on Frosts history that shows he probably isn't a good coach? Because that isn't what I see when I look at his coaching career. I see a coach who has been a part of success everywhere he has been3 points

People who act like this isn't a big deal need to realize they didn't impeach Trump for doing essentially the same thing (QPQ with aid to Ukraine) to obstruct the Mueller investigation. This obviously rises to another level of corruption that must be dealt with3 points

Because it's the first step to getting out of where we are. It also gives us needed practice time and exposure.3 points

Stats are stats dude. They indicate how an individual player is doing. Adrian is mediocre right now, but he isn't the abmonation everyone is making him out to be. He was clearly leaned on heavily this year. He didn't have the surrounding cast the other two had, and he didn't get a Redshirt year like Tommy did. I'd say with another year in the system he is going to be just fine. What he's missing most is a possession receiver on this team. Vedral and Luke are great guys to have backing him up, but it's pretty clear they probably wouldn't be able to take a full season of punishment like Adrian couldn't. They both got hurt without even going through a full game. Luke is going to be fun to watch, but he needs time to develop and bulk up. He's a raw talent right now.3 points

3rd all time in program history with 12 (maybe more) games left to go and a chance to be all time greatest in program history. Yes, let's give that up to go wear that fugly maroon and golden yellow scheme cuz it's home and they had a decent season. This is a dumb rumor.3 points
