I think Frost wanted to bring all of the UCF assistants with him to reduce the overall issues with the transition to NU. Frost had to deal with a transition to a new roster of players, in his eyes, it was easier to do that with a staff full of assistant coaches that he knew and could trust. Now that Frost has been at the helm for 2 years, he has better knowledge of the job required of him, and he is now willing to change up the coaching staff in an effort to improve.13 points

Regardless of how you interpret the moves, SF has parted ways with 2 guys he initially brought with him. In turn, basically saying that his initial plan didn't work as planned. Swallowed pride and pulled trigger. This is where some past HCs have failed miserably. I was hoping SF ego wouldn't get in the way, and apparently it hasn't! Good for him. Makes me even more optimistic for the future.8 points

Son of former CSU coach Sonny Lubick. So he likely hates CU football already, which is a plus.8 points

The one aspect that really made me not believe it was the AHC title. That's a title a HC gives his right hand man. Or someone who has busted his a$$ for the program. Held would be the kind of guy to receive that title. You don't just give that to an outsider. If the report would have said WR coach and Passing Game Coordinator then I wouldn't be so abrasive, but something seemed off.6 points

I'm so done with Scott Frost. Just added to my list, "Lack of coach loyalty," and "Lack of consistency with assistant coach." The list also includes: No fullbacks on the roster Too many sideways passes Not starting McCaffrey Missed on Joe Burreaux Call me when the new head coach is announced. (do I need a sarcasm tag?)4 points

Which means if the offer story is true, people with authority to speak on behalf of Nebraska spoke with people with authority to speak on behalf of Mickey Joseph. So no new news.4 points

So much respect for the military... Good god, read the whole story. It's incredible reporting and extremely insightful into Trump's worldview. Mattis, Tillerson, Gary Cohn, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, leaders of other military branches & others set up a tutorial for Trump to learn about our military and strategic foreign policy because he was so ignorant. Over the course of the meeting, Trump: Said we should charge South Korea rent for troops or pull out Said we should collect from NATO allies (who don't actually owe us) and said "You would totally go bankrupt if you had to run your own business." (irony probably lost on him) Accused Iran of cheating their obligations of the Iran deal and repeatedly said he would pull out of it Asked why America hadn't "won" in Afghanistan yet & threatened to remove the U.S. commander in charge there "You're all losers. You don't know how to win anymore." Asked why we couldn't get oil as payment for troops in the Persian Gulf "I want to win. We don't win wars anymore." "I wouldn't go to war with you people. You're a bunch of dopes and babies." (Interesting non-Trump tidbit: Claims Tillerson thought to himself: "Gosh darn it, Jim [Mattis], say something, why aren't you saying something?" Eventually Mattis boiled over and said “No, that’s just wrong. Mr. President, you’re totally wrong. None of that is true.” and ultimately, after Trump left, "He’s a f---ing moron." Unreal. The guy's a moron and a disgrace to the entire country. No f#cking way someone with these shortcomings can be CIC for four more years. Edit: I see others beat me to it. I'll leave my post as a short recap of the key stuff from the story.4 points

Golden had a career in sacks coming off injury. Carter had a career high in sacks. Oshane had 4.5 sacks as a rookie. Actually, all of their OLBs had career highs in sacks.4 points

Where's that damn eye roll emote when you need it! And even without confirming your sources, that's a safe assumption. That's why there was all this smoke and mirrors with an offensive analyst/ assistant position opening the past week or two so we can talk with Joseph and Helfrich (and others) about coaching at NU.3 points

I just got off a long conversation with my best 3 sources. Word is Walters is out, we have a new OC and wide receivers coach. Btw, i feel i need to verify my sources, for some reason i feel that noone will trust me. I have several, but # 1 is a guy named Jim Beamer, brother of Frank, the man responsible for "Beamer ball". Also I have a Native American friend from the Res in Cherry County....we will just call him Redman for now, but he has spiritial insight. I also spoke with the always trustworthy Mary J. Blige. Yes she is a singer but what many of you dont know is she also has connections to the football program at NU. Anyways, Word is Walters is out. I will get back to you on the replacement. Peace and Love.3 points

Let's use some critical thinking to try and help figure out where this news is coming from and who this news benefits. There's no benefit to Nebraska to announce that we whiffed on a coaching hire, so Peterson's source is unlikely to be from Nebraska. Sipple's are almost all likely to be from Nebraska. There's no benefit to LSU to publicly out Nebraska (in keeping with what @BigWillie said) in retaining Joseph. There's no bad blood between the schools, and they're still riding the high of winning the championship. Even as an SEC/Big Ten rivalry thing, why would the top team in the country's top conference pick on Nebraska, who hasn't made a bowl game in three years? LSU as a source seems the most far-fetched of likelihoods. Joseph himself may benefit if this news gets out as part of a negotiating tactic to get a better deal, and we've seen enough negotiation via headline to know this stuff happens. The source would have to get the attention of not one, but two different Husker-covering journalists. Help me out here. What am I missing?3 points

And at least for awhile, Iran had the largest percentage of Under 30 population in the world. It's no secret that the conservative think tanks that have shaped Republican foreign policy (often tacitly supported by Dems) has had Iran in its sights for more than 30 years. "All roads lead to Tehran" as they said in one report of the Project for the New American Century. And whether Iraq, Iran, Libya or wherever we encounter unfriendly Islamic leadership, the hope is that this silent majority will rise up and depose the theocracy. A coalition of the intelligentsia, the academics, the secular, the young, the repressed ethnic minorities. In other words, every group these same conservatives want to marginalize and suppress in their own country.3 points

That is THE job of the OC and he didn't do it at Oregon or Chicago. Chip controlled everything at Oregon and that's why there was such a dramatic downturn when he left. For the Bears, he was the OC in name but was really the run game coordinator per the Chicago Tribune. As I stated before, his "success" at Oregon as the OC was really Chip and his "success" with Tribisky was really Matt Nagy.2 points
