The hubbub is likely because Gates hasn't even been at Florida a month in a similar position. There's a number of articles doing damage prevention out there covering this...and frankly, Gates seems like a good hire for our team and a good step towards achieving competence two years in a row. 

That, and I can't imagine Florida is happy with Nebraska at all. In the past six months we:

• Hired their #1 Head Football coaching candidate out from under them (contrary to what they claim)
• Skunked their Women's Volleyball team for our fifth National Championship in the sport
• Hired a good assistant coach away from them after being on the job for around a month (though if there's validity to the stories of Gates not being happy, then some of that is on Florida)

Long hair works just like Samson....the longer it grows the stronger you get.  As you get older and lose the hair....well you get the picture.  

Can not confirm. Have very long hair, not much stronger than I was with super short hair 6 years ago.

Also our run defense is pretty stout along the line. Almost all of our breakdowns come when plays go out to the edge. 

That stat might be skewed a bit based on TOP and the comparative number of snaps each offense took. Let's not forget they had 41 first downs and never punted.

But yeah, still a little weird.

I was only half watching near the end, but my impression is that our team is a bit backwards from where I thought it would be. Our line play wasn't awful. Our gap LB decision making leaves a lot to be desired. Our secondary is not pretty. 

Similarly on offense, dropped passes and stupid calls have had far more of an impact on the season than our OL imo. Now that could be an artifact of a lot of pressure, but it doesn't feel that way to me.

The team with her, Larson and Houghtelling is the best collection of talent ever together in program history, IMO. 

Houghtelling sort of gets the shaft in terms of who gets remembered from those teams. Pavan was the star, and Larson the Olympian, but Houghtelling beat Pavan for PotY in 2005.

We are a Volleyball school

You'll have the rosters in a week or so after the game like they did in NCAA. 

You'll be able to get the rosters, but won't have the team names, logos, stadiums, announcers etc. 

I'll have updated rosters for NCAA 14 before the summer is out. 

Needs more free time for the gym I guess?

Read a theory last night that Noah was just using Husker Football to get his shot to play for Coach Hoiberg. Once he fulfilled his dream, he's ditching us.

I am just extremely glad I am not in one of the important swing states. I have not seen one single ad for the Presidential race....and I like that, a lot. I'm sure there must be about 6 states getting hammered with them. This whole year can kiss my a$$.

What did I miss? Was someone claiming it was terrorism? All I've heard is the original theory that it was caused by a contractor.

They looked the best I've seen them play.  They are mentally tough and as testing showed are some of the most physically developed athletes at UNL.  You don't get that way without making sacrifices.

I thought the Old Girl was redone just a couple years ago? I'm fairly sure it was done while Riley was here.

I'm pretty sure that's right @TonyStalloni. We toured the facilities a couple months ago and I'm certain they said the stadium and all the practice fields were redone while Riley was there. We didn't actually go outside on those two practice fields but we were in the indoor and outdoor on the main stadium turf and to my untrained eye they all seemed brand new. The outdoor grass field was the only one that looked a little strained but it was March after all.

Was it that recent? Shows you what I know. I remember it was changed in 1984 and 1992 but I can't remember the most recent one.
