Please chime in on this............do you follow your heart or your mind on something when you need to make a decision on something pretty important.

May be looking at a move out of the State of Iowa in the near future if the legislature makes the changes they have proposed for public workers. It's a shame, Iowa was and always will be home, but I'll move on if need be.

Not to mention she only makes $19 an hour to deal with incompetent parents who abuse their kids or foster parents who don't know how to take care of kids. Her medical is going up dramatically and then to potentially lose her retirement is messed up. So before it was an ok paying job with great benefits to go to ok job with sh#tty benefits. And people want minimum wage to go up to $15...ridiculous

I'm not bent out of shape at all. Like I said, I'm sorry the sweet deal of 3 raises may be going away for you. But here in the private sector, owning a business, we're lucky if we can give out a raise every year or two and I've gone 2 or 3 years before without increasing my pay. Just trying to interject another POV.

Well I officially applied for a job in Colorado. Here goes nothing........lol

@teachercd hard to tell, this is my wife's idea more than mine, but as I go through the application process we'll go out there and see what we think about things and decide from there. I don't have to take the job obviously if we don't dig it. I like where we live now, but we've always talked about heading towards Colorado.

Digging a hole for the Goalsetter basketball hoop I bought for the boys really sucks in clay soil. Halfway there, 2 more feet to dig! Blah...

Going on another cruise, taking the kids this time and we're going to drive. The questions is......do I avoid Atlanta all together and go through Nashville and Birmingham to get to Miami or drive right through Atlanta and say, "Hold my beer and watch this!?"

I found this website called roadtrippers.com and they have an app as well to set my road trip up. It's actually pretty cool because you can filter out what things you want to see along the way, if you want to make a special stop you can add it to your trip, etc. Pretty easy to change the route too, just click on the route and drag it to another highway/interstate if you want to avoid something.

Just set up the Amazon Echo I bought on prime days. Now the government can just listen to what goes on inside my household. It's cool I for one am going to embrace our new computer overlords! lol

Just had one of those IRS scammers try and pull his scam B.S. on me. Pretty sure he regrets making that call now...........

Good god, Bo making it to the FBS final game isn't as bad as some of you are making it seem. You are making it sound like we'd be competing for a N.C. this year if he was still here. I seriously doubt we would've been any closer with him here. The guy was/is a nutcase.

If you could pick anywhere to live in the U.S. where would that be and why? Wife and I are kinda thinking of moving, right now we're looking at Colorado, but aren't really set on anything.

I moved from LA to DC when my wife and I both decided we wanted to live there. We committed between ourselves to move on a certain date about two months out. We began looking for jobs, and she found one fairly quickly. As the date grew near we put money down on an apartment, hired some movers and gave notice to our employers. It took longer for me to find a job. But I ended up landing a job with just a few days to spare before we moved. (Phew!!) Instead of shipping our VW Jetta we drove across America to see the sights. That was a good time.

God.............I can barely stomach Jesse Palmer and his idiotic rants. Branxton Miller is not a Heisman level QB, yet, and Martinez IS a better QB than him.

State of Iowa's newest law enforcement rifle instructor.......god that was a fun week of shooting!

Old neighbors moved out, sad day because they were great neighbors..................new neighbor moves in and appears to be a s&^thead, found cigarette butts all over my yard this morning and he had a friggin party until 2 am. This won't end well........

1)Bake them some brownies and put them in a few zip-lock bags while wearing gloves doing so. 2)Take them over as a house-warming gift, but ask for the bags back when they're done. 3)Turn bags inside-out and clean the inside, replace with pot. 4)Stash them around his house and call police complaining of the smell of weed. 5)Police come, find bags, have fingerprints, neighbor gone. Oh, and for some reason I was thinking you were in law enforcement, so it should be easy! 6)I'm just k...

Well, I'm doing my own little protest against the coaching staff. No Husker gear will be worn and no Husker flag will be flown outside this house until I see some changes. I know I'm a bad fan and I feel horrible, but the OC and DC need to go at the very least!

Everyone should experience a MRI at some point in their life. I've been lucky enough to experience two..................frigging hate it!

Additional quote of the day from Gameday's Chris Fowler, "Rutgers is going to have to figure out how to defend those receivers coming from the sidelines!" *annoying laugh from Desmond Howard*

Well I can now confirm that sugar withdrawal is a real thing.......been really changing my diet lately and I've had two major withdrawals in the past three days. Severe headaches, nausea, weakness, shaking, etc. Pretty scary what sugar can do to you!

Thanks for the information @Hingle McCringleberry I haven't cut the sugar out completely. Just cut way back which is making me realize how much I was actually consuming on a daily basis! @Moiraine I've cut back to one pop per day, but I'm drinking Diet Coke at this point to cut out some empty carbs and sugar. So I'm still getting some caffeine so that's helpful with the process.

I can confirm that a partial torn quad muscle or quad tendon is extremely painful.......there goes leg day for several weeks!

@ZRod I was doing lunges towards the end of my leg day. It was a light leg day, but high reps, 16-20, and it was only body weight lunges. So I'm guessing I taxed my legs pretty good throughout the workout and the stretch of the lunge pushed it over the edge.

I don't usually scalp tickets on gameday, but I had some tickets fall into my lap for free and need to get two more. Will it be easy to get a couple the day of the game for a decent price? I'm assuming yes from what everybody has said.

@madman23 where at in the stadium and how much? Shoot me a PM

The lack of discussion about the game coming up on Friday is pretty sad......

The amount of chest thumping that is coming from some is amazing in here the past few days. Everyone realizes a point or topic at some point in time in their own way and timeline. You aren't the messiah, get over yourself.

Really rough day today, had to put one of our dogs down. RIP Reggie.........he was a great dog.

5 days until I'm sitting on a cruise ship sailing to the caribbean!!!

Does anyone home brew their beer? Have alot of questions that I would like to ask. Thinking of starting to do this.

It is addicting. Get a starter kit from a homebrewing company. Hardest part is keeping things super clean, the smell of the Wort (so my wife says), finding regular dark brown bottles ( no easy off tops ). Noticed that there is a listing for a homebrew company in Des Moines, 'Heartland Homebrew Supply'. Might give them a visit. Good luck. Nothing better than a beer you gave birth to...

RIP Sgt. Tony Beminio and Officer Justin Martin....your watch is over, we'll take it from here. : (

My wife didn't believe me that I could vertical jump onto the kitchen counter from a standing position. Proved her wrong tonight! The look on her face was priceless! Old guy still has it dear......lol

I'm thinking they're a tad shorter than normal height, but don't know for sure. I just measured them at 35". My Assistant Chief chanllenged me in the high school weight room when we were doing an active shooter assessment that I couldn't vertical jump one of the higher boxes in there in full duty gear. Proved him wrong too! That was a couple years ago though. lol
