@Red Five Or just widen the bench spaces (fewer people per bench). They're kinda cramped.
-
Indiana had some great grabs on that drive. I'd take one or two of those guys on our team.

The recruiting world has made it to the classroom. Got a note from a parent today: "Weekends are for fun and family time and not for homework. Please respect our decision."

@RedSavage those studies, IIRC, were only for K-3, and didn't really consider 4-6 grades. And frankly, once kids get to third grade, you should be giving them some homework--partially to reinforce learning in the classroom, but more as an exercise of responsibility to get the kids ready for higher grades and the work necessary to succeed.
-
Fair points and I agree, if it's a light amount of homework I don't see the problem with that. I also agree about prepping kids and teaching them responsibility they'll need going forward. I just think when they're too young, there really is no benefit of homework. This is what I was referring to: http://columbusnewsteam.com/local-news/nps-elementary-students-reap-benefits-of-no-homework-policy/

Are roads in Omaha really bad enough to call school? Snow stopped pretty much 24 hours ago. No way Lincoln calls it with similar amounts.

Some Omaha highways still had snow in lanes as of this morning and our neighborhood (despite being plowed) has an inch or two of packed down snow on it.
My favorite thing so far is downtown: they cleared the crosswalks on the street CORNERS, but not the actual streets. So, everyone basically has to walk into oncoming traffic to cross the street.

Big 10 notches another one. Strong start to bowl season.

I didn’t ask this to throw you under the bus ColoradoHusk, I asked to see if I was the one that has an unrealistic perspective here. I’m probably in the minority in rooting for our conference. Others might root for the teams in the B1G but have nothing to do with thr B1G as s conference. I apologize if you felt dismissed in any way. That was not my intention. I consider you a strong and very credible voice on our board. I would hate to lose the opportunity to discuss football with you.
-
@ladyhawke I don’t feel dismissed. I just think it’s a fruitless conversation. I’m not mad or upset, this is message board that I post on to kill time. I just think the whole idea rooting for the conference is silly. I think it’s dumb when SEC schools chant for SEC, SEC, SEC. I don’t want NU’s opponents to do well in bowl games and have good seasons, because that could lead to better recruits for them, and make it tougher for NU to beat them down the road. When it comes to it, I’m a Nebraska fan first. I care the most about NU victories and the easiest path to those wins.

And that's it for Bobby Petrino

Just heard on the radio we are back to back to back to back to back to back b1g speech and debate champions. where do we hang those banners?'

Vedral applying for waiver to play this year? Sounds like wishful thinking on his part. Don't know why the NCAA would even look at that.

Yup, @Savage Husker has it. Will give Ferentz a new thing to complain about ala Tanner Lee situation, although he should've been happy about that in the end, no?
Does someone have any examples of something like this being accepted?

Is this Nate Gerry..? -
Last Chance U season 2 is up. Small football fix when nothing else in the world of sports is really happening.
-
Guess that's it for Mark May

Season tickets and parking pass all set for Nebrasketball. First time doing this so please don't ruin it for me Miles..
Not a bad slate of games and cautiously optimistic with this roster!
-
I know GT was bad, but if that game hadn't been cancelled would a win over an ACC team have given UCF enough to get in?

My wife and I welcomed our daughter to the world last night!
Advice for a new father, and go

It's been a good run Fightin' Artichokes logo (Andrew Bunch Alma Matter) but it's time to rep the starting lineup
-
Probably already posted but a decent loss for Wisconsin

@teachercd yup, though two of the kids have playing experience, so they're not exactly green.
Still, it seems to be somewhat of a mismanaged situation in Wisky with their line. I mean...that's their bread and butter there. That's a large gaffe that I wouldn't expect from Wisky.
-
@VectorVictor, why is that a gaffe? They played the best player at each position and now a bunch of them are moving on. Didn't the 1995 NU starting line have like 4 or 5 new starters?

Happy 4th everyone! Off to camp in the Badlands and Black Hills for the week. Suggestions for things to do/ survival tips for 102 degree weather in a tent welcome.

Anyone else catch Arizona's pregame locker room speech? Did I hear that right and if so did someone forget to tell Fox about that expletive?
-
They just put 1 second back on the clock for Texas.

Illinois making some semi impressive moves:

Have to feel for that Iowa OT. First round probable draft pick to possible major knee injury

I recognize the answer to this is probably neither but the old man in me has always wanted a newspaper delivered. Been a homeowner for a few years and haven't pulled the trigger. Since it seems our local ones are struggling I'm feeling like time is limited to have done it. Thinking like a Sunday only or Sunday and Wednesday.
Thoughts on LJS vs OWH? I live in Lincoln but seems like LJS is more pricey and I can get most of their stuff free digitally anyway but obviously fit my local stuff better. Anyone do either?

Ed Morrow Jr. Is getting absolutely dominated. Also got rejected by the rim so not just Murray State defenders blocking his shots
-
Not a big Barry's person, but I do like winning. Got my vote.

Big red baseball with an inside the ballpark grand slam. Don't see that often. Nice to see a Kansas State whooping on watchespn
