  1. What if an ad pops up on your screen of Clorox Scentiva that you can’t get rid of? And every 25 seconds a bunch of fake a$$ flowers crowd your screen and make it so you can’t see the topic I came here to read? Ive not cared one bit about this board selling or new ad’s. But now it’s literally encroaching on my reading space with coconuts and flowers. I’m outta here if it continues like this. I’ve been here since like 07 or something and have met people from here in real life. These ad’s, as they are now suck.

  5. Besides the obvious of a win....... I'd like to see Chin use manufactured pressure by sending more than 4 lineman...... I would like to see us use a dime formation as a base D. They appear to have no running game....549 rushing yards and 4 TD's.......Help Mo not have to cover WR's/RB's on passing routes. A skill player not named JD or Wan'dale do something. Anything. No stupid penalties. If AM is helathy, run like AM 1.0 Not this years version. Just win...

  7. Omaha World Herald (AP) - A 15 year old boy was at the center of a Douglas County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

  8. I can't find where previous discussion about this is so I'll put this here. RE: Indiana's comments about us supposedly disrespecting them Yes, Frost did bring up Indiana by name at a closed-door meeting with coaches and ADs. But he wasn't saying he wanted to play Indiana more in the sense that he was expecting to beat them every time. He brought up the fact that Nebraska had played Ohio State five times and Indiana only once since joining the B1G. Several people in the room didn't believe it but they brought up the schedules and showed them it was correct. Frost wasn't just trying to get an easier schedule for the Huskers. He was pointing out that the B1G was hurting itself in trying to get into the playoff for so dis-proportionally scheduling the top teams in the regular season. After Frost brought it up, others like Urban Meyer and James Franklin agreed and said the scheduling should be more even. But apparently Indiana took great offense about it as they brought it up multiple times over a year later.

  9. Not really. An Orlando columnist just put out a article about Nebraska. So I figured they would have a Nebraska topic going on. Not sure creepy is the right word for reading a message board. I personally like other people's view points not just staying in my echo chamber of Husker fans thoughts.

  11. Hell, if Nebraska wins out there is an outside chance they could represent the West!!!! Head to head over Wisconsin and Iowa. Just need Minnesota to go on a four game losing streak against the toughest part of their schedule. It's all falling into place!

  12. I think this is a fair question and I think the answer is it will be total apathy time. This season is not a loss yet...if NU wins 3 out of 4 fans will be pretty happy for the most part.

  16. I'm interested in a real discussion on this. So when our base four of Davis/Daniels/Davis/Davis can't get pressure on 3rd & longs for an entire 2.5 quarters, is nothing on Chinander then? He doesn't deserve any heat for not changing it up and bringing the house on some of those plays to try something different? The stats that McClintock puts out there are important to a degree. But also, we still have yet to play four conference games. If we finish 5-7 or 6-6 and our final defensive stats show that we "improved 7% from last year" I can fairly confidently say that very few savvy football fans are going to take much comfort in that.

The tweet in the middle of this is the most fascinating to me. Biden's support is highly polarized: "Biden's support is basically entirely older voters. Among people over 65, he is still the frontrunner. He is supported by only 2 percent of voters under 45. " TWO PERCENT! That's get-off-the-podium numbers! Klobuchar, Harris, Yang, Booker, Gabbard, Steyer, Beto & Castro all just need to get out. Let the viable candidates have the stage. Not that they're pulling much support from the Big Four, but at this point we don't need their voices adding to the din. The last tweet is something we're seeing right here in this thread. Sanders supporters like THEIR GUY, and it seems like not much else. The crucial thing will be if Sanders doesn't get the nomination, will they support whomever does? Will they get out & vote? When Biden entered the race I figured he'd be the nominee. As this has played out, I'm almost entirely certain he won't be. I think it'll be Bernie or Warren. I genuinely don't think Buttigieg has a chance.

  28. I work in digital marketing. I literally make a living placing ads on websites, so I get the reasons and process behind monetizing a site with ads. But you cannot do it at the expensive of usability. This is maddening!

  30. Huskerboard won’t be getting any ad revenue from me during the day M-F until this changes. So in your quest to maximize ad revenue while covering my entire damn phone screen you are losing the revenue you would have received when the ads were less obtrusive.

  35. Thanks for looking that up. If those numbers get worse and with the youth on D next year, it would seem a perfect time for a change. Love Frost and would hate to see blind loyalty cost him. There was a reason the Gators told Frost not to bring Chinander along.

  39. I could be wrong, but I think we're paying him to coach. I think the number of required media sessions is a little absurd - I like the info as much as the next guy, but let's not pretend that's what we're paying him for. It is an obligation that comes with the job, but if the real job is going well I don't care if he just stands there and says "no comment" to every single question.

Article I, Section 3, Clause 6. In civil cases I have tried, we may request removal of any juror who does not appear capable of rendering a fair and impartial verdict, otherwise known as "strike for cause." The judge hears arguments why that juror should be removed or remain and rules accordingly. I was too young and/or disinterested during Clinton's proceedings to know whether this would be the same process. John Roberts alone would hear arguments, not SCOTUS. And I believe the Constitution is unambiguous (for once), it is 2/3 of Senators present.

  42. Frost said Florida wouldn't let him keep Chinander? And it is possible the loyalty is not blind, but Frost has different measures of progress than we do. Or at least a more complete understanding of the deficiencies Chinander is working with.

  43. I think 3 and a half years as a DC in his career is a little soon to assume he won't ever be a great DC. He's taken over atrocious defenses both places he's been a DC. UCF 2015 (pre-Chinander) allowed 37.7 ppg (118th), 464 ypg (116th) at 6.5 per play (115th), and only forced 1.1 turnovers per game (116th). By 2017 those numbers were 25.3 ppg (52nd), 427.9 ypg (94th), 5.7 ypp (70th), and 2.5 tpg (2nd). Nebraska 2017 was 36.4ppg (116th), 438.1 ypg (101st), 6.4 ypp (113th), and 1 tpg (116th). Currently 28.9 ppg (77th), 401 ypg (70th), 5.6 ypp (68th), 1.5 tpg (63rd). I'm not arguing that those current numbers are good enough, or that Chinander is for sure a great (or even good) DC. But there is measurable progress, and bringing in another DC won't be a quick fix. He deserves more time, especially considering the personnel challenges at LB which I think has been a major factor in most of our poor defensive performances. Bad run fits and no pass rush off the edge is pretty crippling for any DC.
