  2. That's a far cry from the stupid cartoon that started this. In fairness to the government, the banking regulations put in place after the Great Depression worked pretty darned well. It worked so well that they repealed them. And liberated from oversight the financial class pursued the same doomed objectives, abetted by both Republicans and Democrats showing off their pro-business creds. It was greed, stupidity and delusion, so I get kinda tired hearing that a rising tide lifts all ships at sea. These guys will sell their mother and our kids down the river if it means a fourth quarter profit. If you want to go back to a time when America was great --- pretty much anytime America was great — there was a higher tax on the rich than there is now.

  3. Bernie is hardly radical and if he seems like a "crazy choice" it's because of just how far gone this country already is. He may have some cult-like followers (nowhere near the MAGA level), but at least it's in support of a platform that is entirely based on improving our quality of life instead of white nationalism. You're not going to fear for your safety if you happen upon a pro-Bernie demonstration. Can't say the same about the group of white nationalists.

  6. Regardless of outcome, which would you rather have? Which is better for recruiting and our program? A. The national media being positive towards Nebraska, still and expecting us to be good again? B. The national media being negative towards Nebraska, expecting we won't be any good? C. Nebraska being mostly irrelevant nationally. Losing more of whatever aura the program still has. At the same time being able to fly under the radar?

  7. 'We Were Hoodwinked': Inside the Final Hours of Mel Tucker as Colorado's Head Coach ROSS DELLINGER AND PAT FORDEFEB 16, 2020 The night he took the Michigan State job, Mel Tucker was affirming his commitment to Colorado boosters and fans, who are now left frustrated and angry. “I swear to God after the event I said, ‘There is something going on.’ His eyes were not … it was almost like he wasn’t telling the truth. It was bizarre.” An hour later, Tucker struck a deal with Michigan State to be its new coach. LINK“ ======================================================== . .

  10. Consumers and individual workers should pool their resources to make themselves more effective. They would just need to have a few people organize it and direct the group to be more efficient. Imagine what involved, focused people could do if they worked together!

  15. I was thinking about this this morning. Many family members of mine insist we pray for Trump because he is an elected leader and its "the right thing to do". (keep in mind, there was never an insistence to pray for Obama) I don't know why it took so long, but it finally clicked: why aren't they also insisting we pray for AOC, Sanders, Warren, Pelosi, Schiff, etc??? They are also elected leaders that make up our federal government. I'm sadistically waiting for the next "pray for Trump" post to come through my feed... Eisenhower is on point.

  22. This is true. As much as some of us claim hate on ESPN etc, (and that Gameday against OSU did seem like a setup), but we have been one of the most OVERRATED programs in the past 20 years. We consistently get rated preseason top 25, and have done nothing to earn it. The blame does not fall on the media in our case. It falls on us. Just do SOMETHING for once. Who have we beaten , even in one single game in the past 18 years! An over-rated Michigan State? Is that it....in 18 freakin years?? Nebraska fans desperately want something to cheer for. We want some hope...we honestly haven't been given any by our beloved team. Everyone beats a good team every now and then, even Illinois, yet we haven't. Part of that is due to our overrated prestige...noone overlooks us, like they do an Illinois or a Maryland. Yet we have been not much better than anyone. It would be nice to beat a top 15 team for once.

  24. Thanks Frott. I think you and I are staying the same thing on the VA/DHS system... I appreciate your point of view and info on the M4A championed by Bernie...I just happen to think that it is untenable at this point in time. I do think that action needs to be taken somehow, but it has to both make sense and be affordable.

  25. This is a tricky question. Where do we draw the line. There are some 95 year-olds healthier than some 70 year-olds, Do we treat the cancer of "shut in" obese 70yo that is on oxygen tank and not the 95 year olds that are still actively volunteering in the community? My wife's grandfather is 93 and still drives, volunteers at the local museum, goes to church, and attends family activities. He still maintains his own yard...

  32. Nothing is more of a joke than college football scheduling. Let me ask my 2 year old if he wants to attend Neb vs. Ok St. when hes a senior in high school. Why does college basketball put together in the offseason and football needs 15 years to prep a schedule? The Olympics dont even get that much of heads up.
