  2. Sorry Roxy, not trying to be mean, and no one is attacking you. But you have a tendency to start numerous threads with titles that are not at all descriptive of the subject matter. Additionally, many threads can be better suited as a post in an ongoing thread so it can be part of the conversation with other posters who are already discussing the same topic. Imagine opening up Huskerboard and every thread was titled "What is your opinion on this?" or "going to do this" or "OMG you won't believe this!"... The board would be unusable because no one would know what the specific topics are. As Moiraine mentioned, this is an issue of message board etiquette. You come off as a very nice person, so I am quite sure your lapses of etiquette are unintentional. So I thought it would be a good idea to bring it to your attention so you are aware. I thought this would help you and help the board. It is not a personal attack by any means. I figure you would not want to be rude to others, even on accident, so it is fair to bring this up to you in order to improve the quality of discussion and help keep the board somewhat organized and user-friendly.

  4. Complete speculation mode? You put 5 guys ahead of Ozigbo, with two who never carried the ball once for Nebraska, one played two games, and the other two had a tiny sample size. Your list was baseless. You're going to tell me that Wilbon was going to exceed that ypc average as the season went on? It would have put him in elite company that year. The Miles Jones reference. My bad, it was a catch and not a carry. You were clearly trying to sell your "preference" as a reality.

  5. Using B. B.'s "logic", we should fear and shun the white, male, Christian evangelical community, and it's perfectly acceptable to do so. After all, this community is responsible for more acts of terrorism in the United States than Muslims, they've shown disdain for free speech and women's rights, and they would much rather police themselves than use government institutions (e.g. Judicial system) to instruct them on what to do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  10. I just think they are bad at this whole recruiting ranking thing in general. Probably don't put the resources into it that the other two do. Wish 247 didn't include them, but they probably need a third set of data and unfortunately ESPN is about it.

  11. We saw flashes for 3 years. People can give all the credit world to 6 months of fitness, but it’s more than that. It be ignorant to say S&C didn’t benefit Ozigbo, but contributing the majority of his success to a few months of training is disingenuous. He played in offense with two QBs that allowed Defenses to stack the box. The offense get a legitimate threat at QB and the pressure is relieved. And some much improved coaching. The O Line went from horrid to acceptable. Ozigbo goes from donkey (not my words) to third team all conference 1000 yard rusher. It was always there and some of us saw that. The leadership and QB changes definitely helped. You don’t suck because the organization you work for does. Sometimes youre a product of a broken system.

  12. I just wish conservatives supported improvements to our immigration system that actually worked. Instead they'd rather build a wall because they follow Trump's lead and believe it sends a message about strength. This is too important an issue to blow tons of money to look tough instead of doing what actually works.

  14. Depth isn't exactly the right word here since we are actually talking about two separate positions. Wandale will consume a certain number of carries from the backfield. We wouldn't say a tight end is depth at wide receiver, yet we understand having a tight end on the field means he's likely to be part of the pass distribution. Just as a team may use a tight end more in the passing game if receiver depth becomes an issue, we may see Wandale with more or less carries based on how productive the primary RBs are.

  18. Newby and Cross were better players Zig's freshman year. Zig had a better YPC which is great in a vacuum but not in context. Newby outperformed him in his sophomore year and Bryant was undoubtedly the #1 back in 2017 before he got injured. I guess I don't understand what's so blasphemous about saying all this or why it causes such an uproar. Zig was a pretty average player prior to 2018 and wasn't as good as other players in his acceleration, speed, pass pro, cuts, vision and overall performance. That stats prove it, the tape proves it. He worked his butt off, got an opportunity and made the most of it. @huskered17 I like what you said at the end there in regards to your comment about his buying into the staff - do you remember the look on his face, his demeanor and the things he said when Frost's hiring was announced and local media got reaction from players? He looked ecstatic, thrilled at the opportunity. It was almost like he knew something we didn't even though at the time, admittedly, I was speculating he'd be far down the depth chart come the season.

  25. Love the effort, love the defense, loved the fight. MSU is a next level squad and takes a great game to win. What drives me nuts is the consistent offensive sets which are basically 1 on 1 breaking their guy down and either pulling up for a 3 of the dribble or a contested drive. Cut, swing the ball play a little inside out. Anything to make them work on defense.

  27. From espn today Isaiah Roby: The modern big Top 100 ranking: No. 34 A potential breakout candidate coming into the season, Roby spurned a slow start and is finally turning the corner for Nebraska. Over his past five games, the versatile 6-8 junior is averaging 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.4 assists in 30.2 minutes while going 6 of 11 from 3 during that stretch. The late bloomer -- a 6-2 point guard (and quarterback) as a freshman in high school -- hadn't had much high-level experience before landing in the Big Ten, and he has understandably taken time to develop both his body and confidence. Most recently pouring in 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks against Penn State, Roby is starting to string together the type of performances scouts wanted to see coming into the season. At 220 pounds with a 7-2 wingspan and the agility of a perimeter player, Roby is a highly-intriguing outside-the-box 4/5 who can switch everything, protect the rim, space the floor with given time and space, and even initiate offense. Nebraska regularly allows Roby to bring the ball upcourt, even off made baskets. He's not a flashy passer, but he makes the right read more often than not and can also play out of dribble handoffs or pocket passes. "I think I see myself as a point forward," Roby told ESPN. "I'm comfortable sharing the ball, making plays. My vision is one of my best assets so I can definitely see myself being that in the future." It's Roby's shooting that has opened up the floor for him lately. He started the season far too reluctant from the perimeter, hoisting only four triples in his first 5 games. He's looking far more confident now. Offensively, he can function as a grab-and-go, playmaking forward or a small-ball center who can short roll or attack off handoffs. Showing those elements of his game more consistently is an emphasis for him "Sometimes I get kind of complacent out there and that hurts the team and hurts myself," Roby said. "I feel like when I'm playing aggressive that's when we're at our best and that's when I'm at my best, too." For all his intrigue on defense, Roby still lacks a degree of consistency in terms of toughness and physicality -- important improvement areas considering his somewhat narrow frame. Should he decide to leave the Huskers, he could earn first-round interest given his modern fit.

  28. Security concerns aside, I have zero issues with her traveling outside the US on the government dime suspended until the shutdown is over. She is being paid to get something done here in our country and she needs to see it through. There is nothing in those 3 other countries that is more important at this time

  34. This applies to real life too but I'm mostly thinking about message boards. When people are in a discussion and - "This is the last post I'm going to make on this and you should quit talking about it too but let me just get the final word in now." Then after the other person replies - "I can't believe we're still talking about this, I said I wasn't going to talk about it anymore, but let me just get the final word in now." Then 5 replies later they're still talking about the thing they refused to talk about while feigning disbelief that the other person is such a loser for continuing to talk about it.

  37. @Ulty's comment had nothing to do with liking the topic or not. It's good netiquette to make topic titles that say what the topic is about. Think of it like reading a newspaper. You wouldn't want all the articles to be titled "You should read this."

  40. This mirrors my opinion very closely. @B.B. Hemingway and I were having a good conversation/debate about this in a status update today. I was one of those people who felt the addition of Bell and MW would mean Ozigbo was going to be third string, maybe second string at best. I doubted him, but, his body of work supported that viewpoint. His YPC average was pretty meh, he didn't have notable lateral quickness, wasn't great in pass pro, lacked some explosion/elusiveness and was fairly inconsistent. I think there were a lot of reasons for the results to that point - scheme, bad coaching and him not being in optimal physical condition - and it's a credit to him and this staff that he's now in the position he's in. I don't think any of us anticipated Zig being considered a mid-round NFL draft pick like he is right now. Most of us probably would've said UFA at best. I think it's 100% OK to have been somewhat questioning of him early on and accepting of his skills now. A lot of things changed for the better and I think that's OK.
