Maybe they thought the plastic was washing out to sea.  What the OceanCleanup guys found was the mass of the plastic accumulated in the gyre didn't have near the amount of plastic known to be discharged into the ocean.  Based on the dates of some plastics found in the gyre they didn't think the plastics were being broken down into microplastics and forming a smog that was theorized.  They believe that after a few years it washes ashore and a small fraction escapes into the ocean currents and into the gyre.  They may not be s#itting where they sleep but where their neighbor sleeps.  I know in the PI people are getting a lot more conscious of plastic pollution.  My wife and I sponsored a local beach cleanup which they had been conducting for a few years and they are making a huge effort to clean up Manila Bay.  

@4skers89 The problem is, once the trash is ground up and pelletized, there aren't a lot of products that use them.  Every time you recycle a plastic, it loses it's physical properties.  So, virgin material is cheaper AND it makes a better product.  

If I bought a load of recycled product, I have absolutely no clue what kind of quality I'm getting.  If I get virgin material, I know the exact cell classification, how it's going to process and the quality of the product that's going to come out the other end.  The types of plastics are an issue too.  Every type of plastic has certain properties that make it for a specific use.  You can't make a sewer pipe out of pop bottles.  You also can't make food or medical grade products out of the trash.

They probably would. I was just reading that if a team is up by 1 or 2 they are required to attempt an extra point since it could effect the game (defense returns it for a score) Happened in Iowa vs. MSU in 2009

He was asked to come on to give his point of view and opinions on the current college football playoff system.  I saw a clip where he called for the P5 conferences to be standardized and all play 9 conference games.  The SEC and ACC only play 8 conference games.

Booger Macfarland is an idiot.  He said of course a UCF can beat Auburn when they have 30 days to prepare for them.  Well.... Booger.  Frost was trying to reel in a top 25 recruiting class for Nebraska while he was thinking about kicking Auburn tail.  Ridiculous.  They will never admit that it wasnt the lay-off, the lack of motivation, or the extra will to beat goliath.  UCF was better prepared, better coached, and executed the gameplan better.  Oh and BTW they are every bit as athletic as the vaunted AUB that beat Bama and UGA.  

SEC man it is the only conference were you actually cant lose.  Makes me sick.

Lee is a boss and college gameday was an amazing idea.  I remember hating that it was only 30 minutes long.  It is probably overkill now but it is still great.

I think I was working on a class project for Radio 100 (my high school had its own radio station) during the first ever gameday show.

Yeah, Gameday is great alright.  The live crowd, the signs, Lee putting on the prediction mascot head.  It's a great way to kickoff a college football Saturday. 

Stick was offered to walk-on by Pelini.  He was a marginal big conference talent, but has turned into quite a QB.  He will get a look at the NFL.

You almost have to know where St. Helena is to be able to actually find it. 

I grew up on a farm straight across the river from St Helena and have driven by the sign a thousand times on 81 and I'm still not convinced the town exists.
